yeah, i almost cried when i saw this. he prepared that speech impeccably, and i hope obama respects his genuine gracefulness.
I am sad for him but It was a fair fight. For the first time in my life I feel that I actually care about a president.

McCain conceded with grace.. his followers did not. They boo'd as if it was a high school pep rally. When Obama gave his speech of acceptance and mentioned McCain.. I did not hear people jeering.. there was certainly a pause and some clapping, but it wasn't such a childish "booooo, you're the good guy, he's the bad guy, booooo"
But yes, I think he gave a fair and good speech of resignation. Good for him.
And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is who should be running our country - someone with dignity and class, who bows out gracefully and eloquently, all the while reminding us what a blessing it is to be in this country despite the fact that he won't be leading it. It is people like him that make me proud to be an American, not the scum-bag that has been elected to office. I pray deeply for this country - I am terrified to see what is going to happen with Obama in office.

Both McCain & Obama's speeches were very respectful with a lot of heart for America, as they should have been. I was very impressed when McCain hushed the crowd of boo's for Obama, that showed tremendous respect. I am so happy Obama will be our new president, and last God Bless America! That's all that should matter anyways!

Sen. McCain showed once again what a class act he can be. I find it very revealing that when he mentioned Obama in his speech, his crowd booed (twice) and when Obama mentioned McCain in his speech, his crowd applauded. Very telling.
I wonder if he decided he didn't want to take on America with the economy and the war and everything. It would explain Sarah Palin and the horrible campaign he ran. That being said, the concession speech was completely classy, and had he run the campaign that way, it may have been a closer race.
He did have class. This was one of the best speeches I've heard in my lifetime. I may have voted for Obama, but it was McCain's speech that moved me to tears.

that being said, i think mccain's speech was very good, and he bowed out gracefully. gore didn't do that. he bitched and moaned. kerry did bow out gracefully, i'll say that.
McCain is truly a patriotic American who love his country. It was plain to see in his last speech. He also came across the same way at the RNC Convention. You could feel his emotion. Too bad no one saw it on the campaign trail or in the debates. It may have made a difference for him. He is a true patriot and good man, no matter how you voted.
