Melissa Ethridge Shouldn't Have To Pay Taxes

With the passing of that stupid Proposition 8 in California, many celebs are speaking out such as Ellen DeGeneres did.
Well, singer Melissa Etheridge is speaking out as well.
Ethridge planned to legally marry her partner Tammy Lynn back in early October. But with the new proposition, the right for gays to marry is gone.
And Ethridge isn't too pleased about that. In fact, she thinks she shouldn't have to pay taxes. What for? She's not being treated like a regular citizen, why pay like one?
Ethridge took the time to write a response to the proposition, and here is some of what she has to say:
"Okay. So Prop 8 passed. Alright, I get it. 51% of you think that I am a second class citizen. Alright then. So my wife, uh I mean, roommate? Girlfriend? Special lady friend? You are gonna have to help me here because I am not sure what to call her now. Anyways, she and I are not allowed the same right under the state constitution as any other citizen. Okay, so I am taking that to mean I do not have to pay my state taxes because I am not a full citizen. I mean that would just be wrong, to make someone pay taxes and not give them the same rights, sounds sort of like that taxation without representation thing from the history books.
Okay, cool I don't mean to get too personal here but there is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California. Oh, and I am sure Ellen will be a little excited to keep her bazillion bucks that she pays in taxes too. Wow, come to think of it, there are quite a few of us fortunate gay folks that will be having some extra cash this year. What recession? We're gay!
Oh and too bad California, I know you were looking forward to the revenue from all of those extra marriages. I guess you will have to find some other way to get out of the budget trouble you are in.
When did it become okay to legislate morality? I try to envision someone reading that legislation "eliminates the right" and then clicking yes. What goes through their mind? Was it the frightening commercial where the little girl comes home and says, "Hi mom, we learned about gays in class today" and then the mother gets that awful worried look and the scary music plays? Do they not know anyone who is gay? If they do, can they look them in the face and say "I believe you do not deserve the same rights as me"? Do they think that their children will never encounter a gay person? Do they think they will never have to explain the 20% of us who are gay and living and working side by side with all the citizens of California?
I got news for them, someday your child is going to come home and ask you what a gay person is. Gay people are born everyday. You will never legislate that away."

In 2000 prop 22 passed 61 to 38. In 2008 Prop 8 passed 52 to 48. Young voters overwhelmingly said NO to 8. I just have to say one thing. All of you haters who don't want to see gays get married better prepare yourselves. It may not have happened this time but it obviously WILL happen and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it, LOL. Let's get YOUR facts straight here. The whole point of marriage is to come together as a couple for the production of children under the Church. Since the Church part has mostly fallen away because of the breakdown of the family unit and declining religious populations its most modern use is to unite a man and woman in matrimony for a lifelong partnership.
The simple fact that gays have come out of their closets and want to be loud about what they do with their thing does not mean they can just take a tradition between men and women and bastardize the hell out of it and make it fit for them.

The people of California voted for 'Proposition 8' to go through, forbidding homosexual partners from marrying eachother. The problem I have with this whole situation is that the definition of marriage is 'The union between a man and a woman.' Homosexuals are trying to change that to include themselves. Marriage is between a man, woman, and God. Homosexuality is a sin, and is not recognized in Christianity. Humans did not create the definition of marriage to be ebtween a man and a woman, God did. So do not try to change that. The people of California did the right thing and protected the definition of marriage. Now Melissa, what you need to do is to move on, get a cival union, and PAY YOUR TAXES!!!!

I have since lived life and witnessed for myself…sometimes you see kids as young as 6 or 7 and it's SO obvious they are homosexual. The Bible doesn't say being homosexual is wrong by the way…it (depending on how your read it), AT MOST, says that homosexual sex is wrong. Being gay and celibate is NEVER EVER stated as being wrong in the Bible.

By the age of 7, it was obvious to me and his father (a badass biker type, not fem in any way, by the way) that little Josh was probably going to be gay. Sure enough, at 15, he told me he was gay, and last year, at 16, he came out. He didn't CHOOSE to be gay. What 7 year old CHOOSES to be gay? He wasn't even sexually active at 7. He just knew he was different, and as he got older, he was attracted to boys, not girls. He has led a very difficult life because of it; but it was NEVER a choice. He was BORN that way. And if there IS a God, god MADE him that way. And by the way, Josh believes in God AND he goes to church. He is an infinitely better person than I, but I would like to think I had something to do with that.

And to those those who are married, your marriage should become null and void the minute the you commit adultery and you should be banned from ever marrying again, since that's goes against one of the ten commandments. A club for single, straight people to get together with another single, straight person and get membership for life (or until divorce, apparently). Straight people created this club. Does it REALLY matter why people are gay? It's obviously a genetic issue of some sort, whether biological or environmental is up for argument. The fact is that there's enough gays who want to be as loud as they can to force-feed how NORMAL being gay is and putting your thing where is obviously doesn't belong so that we all start to like them and accept their lifestyle.

Bitch still has to pay taxes, just like everybody else. It isn't like she is getting treated sub-human, the state just isn't recognizing same-sex marriage. Gays lost the vote, stop whining. I already said, ASIDE from God, it's the facts of life. People can love each other regardless-they can love anything. But in order for people to reproduce, and for the world to go on, it can't be full of gays-it doesn't make sense. And yes, I would like a reason without "love" because no one has convinced me or given me any facts on how they should be together. Men and women can be together based on the facts of life, that's how it's been since the beginning. What do gay people do with each other? Finger each other? Have buttsex? Wear strap-ons? It's not real sex and it doesn't mean anything. Man and woman were created for each other. There are no facts that gays should be together, and there is no proof they should. If gays should be together, how come it hasn't been something that people really approve of until now? The world's been around longer than we can imagine. You'd think, since love and happiness are the best feelings, that people would've recognized gays should be together forever ago.

I'm an environmentalist, but I have many friends who don't care about global warming whatsoever and that's their opinion. Firstly, I am completely saddened that Prop 8 passed. However, having said that, there are a couple major points to make:
1. Given our current economic condition, I believe there are bigger fish to fry. Worry about these sorts of issues when you can afford to.
2. I'm sure Missy Etheridge is a flaming Liberal who just voted Mr. Obama into power. That being the case, why in the world would you want to avoid paying his higher tax (you know, since you are wealthier than $250,000/year), thereby taking so much money away from the poorer people in this country who did nothing to earn it or deserve it? Those poor people need your wealth redistribution to pay for their flat screens, PS3's and Cameros over there in the projects. Now that's not fair!
3. You're right Missy Etheridge, why pay for rights that you don't get? How about this: Just tell everyone your an illegal alien. That way, you can get a crap ton of rights without having to pay one red cent into the system. How's that for sweetening the deal? Lord knows your new president won't do a darn thing about that.
Basically what I'm getting at is, what in the world do you have to complain about now that you have your president-elect? He's going to hand you the World on a silver platter, isn't he? Granted, he's going to need your help and you'll have to "work" with him to give it to you…or something…
