Filed under: Politik > John McCain > Sarah PalinShe's the gift that keeps on giving!
Ejected VP candidate Sarah Palin opened up to CNN on Friday and slammed McCain campaign advisors for telling lies.
She totally knows Canada is part of North America!
And, of course she knew that Africa is a continent!

Who gives a free lunch at hometown buffet about her!
Barack OBama is our President!!!!
YES!!!'
YES!!!!
YES!!!!
and I just got accepted into my 1st choice college
YES WE CAN!
Re: Moluver – Man, I am so over all the retard talk in here, really I am. No, that's not what Republicans want. MOST REPUBLICANS, most Conservatives just want the fucking government to get out of the way. Period. We want them to provide us with roads to drive on, keep us safe (internationally AND at our borders), deliver our mail, and hell, I'm tired so I can't think, but NOT A WHOLE LOT MORE! That's all we really want. We don't want/need all these government programs, blah blah blah. We want them to get out of our way, and let us run our lives independently. One must understand that the more you dumb down a people, the more dependent you can make them on you, the easier they are to control. We just want no part of the tangled web of a mess our government has become. It doesn't really have a whole lot to do with Jesus, fanatics, or Bibles really. One shouldn't speak of things one doesn't understand.
Cry me a fucking river!!! Funny how it was OK for her to spew lies & bullshit about Obama and now it's happening to her (maybe or maybe not - it could be true)! Go back to Alaska! NOBODY cares about you!
Re: Coach K – A wise, wise man shared something with me recently. If you argue with a fool, nobody can tell you apart.
That being said Coach K, I'm done with you. I have yet to see one complete, intelligent thought come from you. What's the point? There isn't one.
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – Evening LG! LOVES your new ava!!! Better suited to you, if I must say so myself!!
Sarah P. for President, Joe the Plumer for V.P. They both share common view points, clever and passionate. They both could govern for their "real Americans"
oh now they want to turn on her when all the while they knew the bitch was dumb
I love it! She looks horrible! Since the RNC isn't paying for her hair and make up anymore, she ain't lookin so hot! She is going to try to take Senator Steven's seat in the senate! I am sick of seeing her trashy face, and hearing the most ridiculous uneducated remarks come out of her mouth!
Re: ROROurboat – Yeah…. you keep wonder though if she not just SPENT a FORTUNE on CLOTHES… but also on FOOD. Notice her second CHIN?
She belongs in Alaska. The only future she would have in television would be on FOX/LOSER channel with the likes of Bill Asshole O'Reilly and Sean Vaginal Secretion Hannity. She would complete the Trifecta of unfiltered ignorant, hateworthy dickwads. Yes, I think she would be perfectly herded into FOX/LOSER TV, and instantly feel at home among the legion of wet farts that reside there.
Well, I can't say I completely feel sorry for her, but a very small part of me does. But, when I think of all the hateful and untruthful things she said about Obama during the campaign it would appear that she is getting paid back twofold.
I think its so F'd up how those so-called McCain aides would backstab Sara like that! She's not the reason why the Repubs didn't win this election. To pin it all on her is lame. That's right Sarah theyre freaking jerks!

Re: Leona$ Gho$t – I know I know, where is that Smirks anyhow? You make it a pleasure to reach across the aisle! Always wonderful to see you my friend!!!
What a lying sack of shit. THANK GOD she didn't make it in! All our states would have been sperated into democratic vs republican, creating 2 seperate countries.
Re: Obnoxious Joe – I'd buy those issues. Hell yeah I can't stand her, but she IS hot!
Re: Quenepa – Rocks are smarter……….
Re: JayPea – I'm not trying to be rude, but are you under the impression that we are united now?
They really gave her a raw deal…and I voted for OBAMA! Yea!
I thought Sarah Palin was the most unqualified candidate I have ever seen, and disagree fundamentally with almost everything that comes out of her mouth BUT - I think she is 100% right about this. The lack of professionalism is staggering, especially as these reports began to surface before the end of the campaign.
The bottom line? Even if HALF of what is reported by anonymous staffers is true, it is THEIR OWN FAULT - what does that say about their vetting process? They were the ones who picked her in a cheap effort to ignite the social conservatives and disgruntled Hillary voters. They were the ones who put her into a 2 hour interview (normally journo's would get 15 - 20 mins at a time) with Katie Couric after putting a muzzle on.
Now, don't get me wrong, I was loving it every time she opened her mouth - it only pushed undecideds to Obama - but to turn around and snarkily blame her for the loss, when it was a TERRIBLY run campaign is called looking for a scapegoat. You all made your bed, now lie in it.
Wonder what they would've said about her if they'd won? Ridiculous.
Re: Obamunism – Firstly: Clearly, we can tell from your avatar that you do not have an objective grasp of the issues, but how is Perez being so awful by posting it? This has been plastered on Fox (way to jump ship, creeps) and CNN websites and TV since Wednesday - and they have been far harsher than our Perezito here…
Second, whatever your opinion of Sarah Palin's intelligence and experience, I don;t think even the most far-right pundit could say without their nose growing that Palin is more intelligent. She's just not. You don't graduate from Princeton and Harvard, then decide against working in a top paying law firm to do community law without having huge intelligence.
And lastly, people go on and on about the fact that Palin has more experience. You are in part correct, she has more executive experience. However, part of Obama's campaign was running on CHANGE in Washington. Look at the way the campaign was run. Grass roots, community organising to get the job done, instead of the old school political tactics. MAYBE Obama's massive intelligence, amazing support team and ability to mobilize the citizens to participate is more important than 2 years of 'executive experience'. Just sayin…
Re: ValdostaStateBlazers – Oh, get off your high horse. The ones who ignited this story was Fox, not the 'liberal media' - translation: EVERYONE ELSE!
I watched election coverage on CNN, Fox, ABC, MSNBC and NPR. By far the most biased was Fox, shortly followed by MSNBC. The difference? At least MSNBC admit their partisanship - in fact, the network was created to try and balance the explosiveness of Fox. I think this 'media elite' stuff is such nonsense. In fact, Palin agreed with that! When giving the interview with the above clip, she says that most media do a great job, and a few 'stinkers' ruin the 'whole basket'. So eloquent…
Re: lavandierra – The democrats were actually very careful not to criticize her, I think you should do a personal fact check there. They actually let her do her own dirty work!
Also, it's not a Sarah/Hillary thing!!!! The only similarity they have is their genitalia! It makes me so mad that people pull the 'wonder if this would happen with Hillary' card. It would not have for 3 reasons: 1. the people actually voted for her to be on the ticket, 2. There is NO WAY she would have put herself in the firing line by having so little a filter and 3. she has EARNED the respect of the media, in her treatment of them.
And may I make a prediction? In years to come, when people reminisce about the historic 2008 election, you will tell fibs about who you voted for.
Re: Carpetburnscar – Congratulations on the college acceptance! Where will you be going?
Re: Sassy Girl – [re=3081986] The problem is Sassy, a huge portion of your base does not agree. Now remember, by rights, small government getting out of your lives would also lead to getting out of people's marriages and bedrooms. Do you see the social conservatives standing for that? The Christian Right is DECIMATING the GOP.
It's also about balance. Due to the huge mess W made of your economy, the only way out is to outlay big bucks. AND you are the only western civilisation who thinks that health care is the responsibility of the individual. As an Australian, I find this concept absolutely, eating your own hair kinda crazy. We have the right to opt into private care, but no one in an emergency or with a fatal illness is turned away. How you can do that to your own astounds me.
Until the Republicans come back to the centre, they will continue to lose the majority of the youth and minority votes.
Re: Reneesouflee – Well, here's my deal. I am EXTREMELY Conservative. To the point that Republicans don't represent me, nor do the Democrats. I am a SMALL government girl, always have been, always will be. From where I'm sitting, the more the government gets their hands in the mix, the messier it gets. That's all I'm saying. It's tiring and irritating to see folks keep posting about Republicans and their Jesus freaks, their Bibles, all of that business. It's such a generalized, narrow minded statement, as their are idiots on both sides of the fence.
You are correct when you say it's all about balance. I don't see any "balancing" going on within either party. Unfortunately, I am represented by really nobody. So I'm just sitting back at this point, hoping for the best. I don't honestly feel that Obama or McCain, at the end of the day, gives a rats behind about the people.
I do have to say though, I don't see that the responsibility of the fiasco that is our economy today rests solely on the shoulders of W. Everybody's had their hands in that pot.
It's over, bimbo, go away.
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – 102 LMAO!
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – You new avatar is BEAUTIFUL!
.
Re: Sassy Girl – I agree, I think there ARE idiots on both side of the fence - it's the same logic I use when trying to explain why they are being racist talking about Muslims with a broad brush stroke. I also agree that it wasn't just W that screwed the economy - unfortunately for him, history will remember his administration for the Iraq War and the economy tanking. After all, whether right or not, the buck stops with the president. And I don't buy trying to blame Congress - everyone knows when there's opposition between the legislative and executive branches nothing gets done. Why is anyone surprised they haven't been able to do anything?
I don't think the comments about the religious conservatism are unwarranted, I really don't. The GOP has played to that base at the detriment of independents, people like you (excuse my assumptions) who are more interested in the traditional fiscal responsibility of the GOP. I come back to the church and state issue. Bottom line: If the GOP actually stuck to that ethos, there would be an evangelical/conservative Christian revolt.
Can I ask, what government org's do you think are superfluous and causing the problem? I'm genuinely asking. Again, I really struggle to understand the logic, when it comes to healthcare.
good for her! She is so real, and so brave.
You go girl. This woman can't win with you people. "If the comments weren't true, she'd be whining about the media. The stories are real and Pain needs to disappear like Dan Quayle." Really?? I find it very easy to believe that if she was "whining to the media" you would say the stories are real because she's trying to cover her butt. You people are a disgrace-all you have to do is sit and make rude vulgar comments about her…get over it. you hate her but you don't even know her.
now that she is not surrounded by secret service agents..I would love to splatter her with "by jeez" right on the "darn tootin" splatter shields..
hl
Once again, the liberal media continues the assault on Palin. They can say anything and you people believe it. If what they are saying is fact, then there should be proof. Here say is not fact. I guess people like Perez and anyone else who comments on Palin negatively are the jerks. Tag, you're it.
Re: sweetpiece – #131.

GOOD EVENING, SWEETIE DARLING!
.
THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH!
.
Sarah's debate coach was fired by McCain's camp a few weeks before the election. He now works for Joy Behar, The View. He writes her jokes for her stand up comedy routine. He told Joy about his experience when preparing Sarah for the debate. Joy shared her view, and told him to call Carl Cameron, Fox News. The debate coach is the happiest X camper these days. Joy and Carl pay him much more than McCain did.
This has just gone too far. IT's time to leave Sarah Palin alone. She may not have been a good VP candidate, however, she's a nice lady. It's time to stop this.
Re: mahogany –
HA! how many of you fools drank the Obama kool-aid? and still are! "real americans" voted Obama? What do you classify as a "real American." Half the Obama supporters I come across don't even know what he stands for. My friend in DC was at a rally for Obama and they started announcing McCain policies and the crowd was cheering! Than once they mentioned these were not Obama policies the crowd booed, morons!
Re: Reneesouflee – Wow, we could discuss all of this, and it would take all night, so let's just talk about healthcare. Many proponents of “health care reform” in this country point to Canada ’s government-run system. Defenders of the system point to the fact that health care in Canada is available to all; but at what cost?Advocates for socialization or more government involvement in health care like to raise the point that health care is necessary for survival and therefore should be the responsibility of the state. Following the rationale of this argument, food and water are even more basic necessities for survival, so therefore the state should be the only suppliers of these goods. If deprived of food and water, every human would perish; that is not necessarily the case with health care.History is full of failed experiments in government control of the distribution of goods and services; some are still ongoing ( Cuba ). The results speak for themselves: wherever free trade and economic rights are stifled, shortages abound. We can even find examples of that here in the US: Nixon’s attempts at price and wage controls as well as today’s health care “crisis” caused not by the private practice of medicine but by government's growing influence in this sector.
Be patient! I can't fit in all in here at once…..
Re: Reneesouflee – The government's insistence on solving problems related to health care in this country have yielded dismal results. The cost of health care has spiraled over the last three decades and can be linked to a rise in government funding and regulation. Innovations in treatment and prevention have been stifled and accesses to certain treatments have been blocked by government bureaucrats. Politicians also approve legislation that uses the power of the state to tilt the playing field in favor of (so-called) private insurance companies, further diluting the power of individual choice.
A totally private health care market would not be perfect (nothing is), but it would be much better than the alternative. In a free market system, instances could arise where both rich and poor could end up overpaying for shoddy service that could cause more problems or even death. But at least they or their family could choose another health care professional, a choice not available within government-controlled systems. Perhaps socialized medicine is seen by the government as the solution for the impending Social Security crisis. The majority of voters are quick to cast ballots for politicians and initiatives that curtail individual rights while expanding the power of governments. Like the children in the story of the pied piper, they are easily led by sweet melodies promising something for nothing. Sort of like the "free" continental breakfast at Motel 6. It's always the crappy, stale bagels with overrippened bananas and warm juice. If you don't want to pay for it, you're still going to get what you paid for. Anytime the government sticks their hands in it, they screw it up! I'm just saying….
Re: jefdo – Hello my friend…
Re: iloverob –
They make rude comments about Palin because intelligence intimidates them! It's funny they can all make fun of her and completely ignore all the shady associations of Obama, his flawed policies, and the ridiculous things he says. "Spread the Wealth." How Robin Hood of you Obama. In one of his first speeches as President-elect didn't he insult Nancy Reagan at a lame attempt at a joke, way to start off on the right foot! Obama's no genius, he stole "Yes we Can" from Bob the Builder!!!!
Re: jefdo – Whats nuts to me is all the comments about her hair, double chin, so on and so forth. Did this country fall victim to a mass frontal lobotomy?
She had far more experience than that clown you supported. Aren't you LUCKY that republicans are nicer when they lose than the crap you whiners fed us for 8 years- spew hate, blindly believe hate sites, insult your president. Back to the real subject here- She is smarter than YOU. She worked and paid her OWN way through college- no affirmative action for WHITE women, you know. 46% of Americans thought she was great. And SHE carried that ticket. Obama is now talking about that heroin addict RFK and his crackpot science (that has been criticized by REAL scientists) for his EPA post. Obama never got CRAP ALL from the media for all his drug use and his continued smoking. Guess he doesn't care about PERSONAL pollution. great role model of his kids. Your sweet, very well spoken posters call Palin a bitch and a cunt- I'm sure she could care less what people with that limited vocabulary have to say. those people could have used a mother as competent as Sarah Palin. they might have been brighter because of it.
Re: Cherry Bomb –
GREAT POST! Not only does she have more experience than Obama, she actually has political achievements, unlike Obama. Palin's ton a LOT as governor, even going against her own party. She was the mayor of a town and took down the Republican incumbet and took the whole election. If people want to see how smart she is they should watch her debate with the two other men who ran for governor of Alaska. She crushed them. Obama did nothing in the Senate except plan his presidential campaign. On tough issues he simply didn't vote so it couldn't be held against him later. We need a president who can handle tough issues. You can't just be "present" as president, you have to take a stance.
palin for president
Sarahhh palin
rocksssss
Re: Sassy Girl – I loved reading your thoughts there! Huzzah to actual, civil back and forth on issues. And your points are not without merit. Ultimately, it does come down to what you fundamentally see healthcare as: right or personal responsibility. On your point around the differentiation between supply of food and water is an interesting point for a couple of reasons. Firstly, all able bodied, healthy citizens who apply themselves and are willing to work will, finaincial depression withstanding, be able to attain those things. When an person is ill and unable to get coverage for the multitude of reasons given by HMO's, this equation changes, rapidly - not only for the individual affected, but for their dependents if any, and their extended family. Their ability to contribute to the economy, society and indeed, taxes is impacted, but more than that, they are all put through a tremendous psychological strain, which I'm sure anyone who has been through serious or terminal illness in their family will agree makes things a helluva lot worse. Pause for part deux :p
God i hope Sarah wins for president in 2012 shed be great the only reason people hate her is because shes a woman and shes standing up for what is right its totally sexist some of the comments people say about her and so wot if her daughter bristol is pregnant shes a human deal with it ; for sarahs wordrobe all lies even if it was true many women overspend its called a hoby u thick bitches get something else to talk about !!!!!!
palin for president
perez is the shit !!!
On government involvement in food and water, my country is in the middle of a massive, MASSIVE drought. Farmers are one rainfall away from another year of disaster in terms of crops, and all water storages in my state are at around 23%. We are in the middle of Spring, and our summers are long and brutally hot, with consistent temps of between 95 - 115 degrees farenheight (sorry, I'm specifying that because I'm an Aussie and it looks weird!). If the situation doesn't improve, and soon, the government may NEED to intervene. We are using massive amounts of tax payer dollars on cross state pipelines and de-salination plants. How does this relate to healthcare? Because this is a balanced approach with private enterprise, just as our health system is. Hand on, part trois on the way….
all the haters you need to get laid and actually do something in your perfetic live!1
Just be grateful we don't have to listen to her for the next 4 years.
You mentioned Canada's system, and I quite honestly don't know much about it, but I do know the Australian healthcare system, and worked in a public hospital for 3 years in medical staff administration. Now, while our system absolutely has its flaws - like you said, no system is perfect - there are some facts that are undeniable: no one is forced to choose the public healthcare system. You are perfectly within your rights to choose one of the many private health insurance plans, which are mostly nationally run, thus eliminating massive differences state by state ( I grant you we have less states though). You can also opt to pay for treatment at a private hospital for a procedure, if you don't want to go public for any reason. You don't have to see specific doctors. We all still have a GP of our choosing, some of which we have to pay a consultation fee for, which is refundable at least in part through Medicare (which everyone has). Yes, occasionally there are waits for elective surgery. Yes, if badly handled by administration there can be budget crunching. But I watched my grandfather battle cancer in a public hospital, where he was treated with dignity care and respect without having to pay for anything but his TV. Now, how is that POSSIBLY worse than someone losing their home to pay for treatment? It would never happen here….

Re: Cherry Bomb – Uhhhh… If this is you being nice, I'd hate to see you in a tizzy! And I think the reason no one got on his back re: the drug/smoking thing is that he never once tried to hide it. It's hard to brandish someone with skeletons in their closet if they've already thrown them out onto the pages of a book. And I'm sorry, I agree that they are totally scapegoating her here, and I agree that all the ridiculous talk on here about her face/hair/chin is blech - I mean, the lady's very pretty whether you agree with her or not, but is sooooo not the point - BUT - come on. I am a 25 year old Australian chick, and I can answer more glibly on some of the questions she has fumbled in this campaign. AND more abhorant to me me is the spirit with which her rallies were conducted. Quite frankly, I expect more of women in politics than that. They have to fight so hard to get there in the first place, don't give a still sexist society ANY opportunity to make you look bitchy.
Re: kelbanyy – Stellar contribution there, thanks for sharing. Phhh.
American women should give her a chancee she mayy not of answered the questions propely but who gives a shit at least she talks sence and she has morals and all you lot goin on about her hair and everything even if you dont like her you can call her ugly coss face the truth she is verry pretty
but i do agreee with john mcain nott bein president he can just die sarah palin should run for president not VP!!!
Re: mahogany –
"Real Americans"??? How mature of you… to even assume someone isn't a "Real American" because they're part of the Republican party is sickening. Why don't you go tell that to all the soldiers fighting for our country (or all the veterans) who happen to be Republican and see what they think of it. Ass.
Re: smileatyou9370 – OMG! I hope you do not actually vote. If you do I guess you voted for her because 'she is just like you"; stupid.
Re: mrsjet – I may be a "kool-aid drinker" if a "Kool-aid drinker" is a well studied and informed voter that picked the best people for the most important job in the world. You Republican "beer drinkers" had your 8 years; praise the lord they are over! Bring on the Kool-aid!!!
Re: lavandierra – She did this to herself.
What goes around, comes around….Karma! Sarah, next time you will be smarter when your party uses you! Ouch, must sting, huh!!!
Re: kelbanyy – I prefer women that support the rights and values of all women, whether they are shared values or not. Sarah only represents a very small percentage of women; those with enternalized sexism. Lets not go back to the early 20th century and resume womens rights at that point. She was reluctant to refer to herself as a feminst the second time she was asked. I guess someone read her the definition of a feminist and she realized that she is not one.
Re: kelbanyy – Oh, one more thing, Joe Biden is a proven feminist. O.K., thanks for my venting allowance. I feel better now.
Re: TanaBanana – ermm your wrong there i never said she was a feminist so get yah facts right i said that they were being sexist towards her dickhead!!!!!!!!!!!
I for one want a few things looked over again in NAFTA- small but important things that effect Canadian resourses and that shes a dumb bitch and wants to own the world and tell it how to be under her control- hope she goes away for good but i doub't she is that smart to realize when she is finished.
Re: kelbanyy – Because she is presenting eveything that sexist make fun of. Name me one thing that she has done that would be fodder for ssexist jokes. This being said, I was defending her during clothinggate. However, as more info is coming out I am developing a change of heart. While I don't really see an issue with the RNC giving her funds for the campaign trail; as I am sure she really does shop where she says she does in Alaska. I am very offended by her purchases for her husband and children. Especially since our tax dollars have gone toward funding McCain; campaign. Sorry if I offended you. I did not mean a persoanl attack on you.
Re: kelbanyy – I went back and read your initial post. My reponse was to your suggestion that woman should be affording some kind of break just because she is a woman.
Big deal, most Americans I have talked to barely know anything about Canada. I guess you guys don't learn anything about us in school, which is to your own detriment, as demonstrated by Ms. Palin. I'm not at all surprised that she doesn't know geography outside of the United States, what I wonder is if she has any knowledge of her own country as well. I'm never shocked when an American doesn't know anything about the other countries outside of their own. I would be especially shocked if I could meet an American that actually knew something about Canada, like our provinces, our government, our health care (it's not free) etc.
Re: sandrecito – I think you need to get laid because you watch to much tv.
Re: TanaBanana – you should be even more outraged that both campaigns spent billions to try to elect just one person to the presidency. If you think that is acceptable then you are really stupid. If you want change, then make every effort to change that so it doesn't happen again in the future.
Re: Obamunism –
I am not threatened by her at all. I've heard Rush call her intelligent, but I've seen no evidence of that from her at all. Down to earth? not so much… Just ask her wealthy donors who paid for her clothes. Energetic I'll give you. Whether or not she's a "serious christian" or not doesn't matter to me in the slightest.
She is not competent. Several of my republican friends say "why would we want her in 2012 when Ron Paul makes more sense".
But seriously:
"Since the base of the Democratic Party is in many respects made up from the young, atheist, unmarried, childless, "victimized", and the celebrity-worshipping crowd, I can see how people that spend lots of time on this site would be threatened by her"
You just opened your mouth and showed that you do not know what you're talking about.
Good luck to you.

Re: Douchbagistan –
You wanted to know what Sarah Palin has done that you can point to and say, "that is genius"?
Have you ever heard of the saying "Is better to keep one's mouth shut than to open it and remove all doubt"? Apparently, the other Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden never heard of it and is infamous for these utterings.
1. FDR Did What?
"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television. But Herbert Hoover was president in October 1929 when the stock market crashed and television made its debut a decade later, in 1939.
3. He Should Have Picked Hillary
At a campaign stop in Nashua, N.H., on Sept. 10, Biden said Obama may have been better off had he picked Hillary Clinton to be his running mate.
4. You in the Wheelchair, Get Up!
Biden asked State Sen. Chuck Graham to stand up for the crowd. "Stand up Chuck let me see you," Biden said to Graham, who is in a wheelchair
6. So Fresh and So Clean
Biden blundered when talking about Sen. Barack Obama when he said "I mean, you got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy."
CORRECTION: The saying goes like this……
"Is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"?
Re: jefdo – 145 No, what's funny is that Palin can magically ignore all of these "issues" after two months of shouting them from the rooftops. I guess being utilized by Obama for her energy expertise is more important to her than those un-American, crimminal associations. Also, let's not forget McCain himself as well as Bachman: all are currently jockeying for positions with Obama while you're still hurling the empty garbage they spoon fed you. Before they did the immediate about face, did they at least give you a cigarette or was the delicious kool aid enough for you?
Re: topper –
Yeah, Biden does shoot his mouth off. You can also tell he's intelligent. bless the guy, He will be a great veep for the late nights.
Sarah didn't keep her mouth shut. No genius points there.
Re: Cherry Bomb – 147 Do you ever read anything or do you just pull random thoughts from your backside? White women are included in affirmative action. Originally, it was supposed to be a legal remedy for African Americans only against Jim Crow and all legal means of institutionalized racism and segregation enacted after slavery was abolished. As it evolved all women were included as well as members of other "minority" ethnicities. It's obvious why our country is in shambles too many low information viewers, uggggh! Turn off the tv and pick up a book. I promise, a whole new world will open up to you, and the rest of the world will be a safer place!

Re: Douchbagistan –
Palin's genius is apparent in her success in Alaska. Palin was a little known mayor in Wasilla that beat the Republican incumbent in the primaries for governorship of Alaska and then defeated the former Democrat governor. She's fought corruption in government even when it came from her own party. She told Alaskan Republican Senator Ted Stevens to come clean with his shady financial dealings. Palin also took money from oil companies and had it distributed to the citizens of Alaska. In 2007 she had a 93% approval rating, making her the most popular governor in the country. She's done FAR more as governor of Alaska than Obama ever has in the Senate. He simply showed up as "present," but would never vote on tough issues so they wouldn't be used against him in his future presidential run. Pretty spineless if you ask me. Palin's reformed corrupt government, crossed party lines, and done tremendous things for Alaskans. I'm still waiting to see any of those characteristics in Obama.
Re: jefdo – You are pointing to her success in a state that just elected a 7 time convicted felon, where she 'spread the wealth'. I thank you for proving the point for the other side!

Re: Reneesouflee –
Electing Steven's is voting for the Republican party. He'll either be convicted or resign, meaning Palin will pick the person who takes his seat. If you were a Republican in Alaska it makes perfect sense to vote for Stevens, you're voting for the seat not the man. He'll be out either way, this just insures that his seat will be filled by a republican instead of a democrat.
Re: Reneesouflee –
And giving profits from the oil companies to citizens is much much much different than spreading the wealth. Obama wants to raise taxes on those making 250,000 or is it 130,000 he's said both. He wants to take their hard earned money and give it to people who had nothing to do with their success. Palin took money from the OIL COMPANIES that were making so much off of the citizens. Obama is taking it from the PEOPLE. Big difference. What Palin did can be looked at as more of a stimulus check, except it doesn't cost the government all that money, it came from big oil.
Re: Douchbagistan – Biden didn't keep his mouth shut….LOL..boy are you delusional. You must either be deaf, dumb or blind…or all of the above.
Re: jefdo – I would respect her for her stance on Stevens if it not for her own questionable financial actions. Charging Alaska for dragging her family around with her doesn't sound ethical to me and spending RNC money on her family doesn't really sit right. Have you heard the old saying- isn't that calling the kettle black? If this is what she is like with a little power she would have gone hog wild as VP.
Re: jefdo – jefdo, you're also missing something very important in the redistribution…the 500 bucks or so that the people who pay no taxes will get will help them prosper…they may be able to start a small business, or afford a house, or buy a car, or pay for their children's college tuition. When this happens, we will be building wealth from the bottom up. There won't be poverty anymore. Seems to me that for this to really benefit the middle class and people in poverty, the amount needed will be 50K and not 500 bucks. Now, that's a big incentive to work harder.
Re: TanaBanana –
Her family was invited to many of the events she attended. If you compare her record of finances to the previous govenor she cost the state much less. She even sold the governor's private jet and flew commercial. The expenses of the RNC were made by the party and the campaign. Palin did not spend their money nor tell them where it should go. The whole clothing ordeal is ridiculous, Palin didn't purchase any of their clothes. She didn't buy them, simply wore them.
Re: TanaBanana – You obviously don't know how gov't works. Politicians do this all the time, right or wrong. Palin isn't an isolate politician. It's just part of doing business, so to speak. But why focus on just Palin, Obama has spent 4 times what the GOP spent. But no one reports on the extravagant expenses he and his family racked up. As an example, look at all the money he spent on his modest family trip to Germany to give a speech to people who don't take part in our election process. You only hear what the liberal press tells you and you only believe based on your perception that what the liberal media is telling you is 100% factual.
