Arnold 4 President!

With so many people and celebrities speaking out about the unfortunate results of the discriminatory Proposition 8, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is taking this time to speak out as well.
On Sunday, the Governator expressed hope that the California Supreme Court would overturn Prop H8te and allow gay marriages again.
Schwarzenegger said in an interview yesterday on CNN, "It's unfortunate, obviously, but it's not the end. I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area."
Looks like Arnold has slowly changed his opinion on gay marriage, as in past statements he stated that he believed the stupid idea that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. But, he had added that such important issues should be determined by the voters or the courts.
The governor has now publicly opposed Prop H8te and says to the backers of gay marriage, "I learned that you should never ever give up. . . . They should never give up. They should be on it and on it until they get it done."
And yet we're back to the old way of thinking. Back when if you recall, it was illegal for blacks and whites to marry.
Times change, but how long will it take for peoples' views on equal rights for all to change?????

PEREZ shut the eff up. We Americans both religious and otherwise have the right to believe what we believe. I believe people are born gay but it does not make it is normal. I believe marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN but it does not mean I hate gays. You have civil unions. The agenda is to take down churches do not be naive just because that is not your intention. By the way OBAMA is against gay marriages. STOP comparing the black struggle with the gay struggle. My ancestory and skin color make me black. Gay defines what you feel and do sexually IT IS NOT WHO YOU ARE. I don't do black or feel black I AM BLACK. I can't hide that from the world until I get into a more comfortable position in life and then come out the "closet"
Re: sunnyrebecca – you are absolutely wrong. many studies have shown that you are born with your sexual orientation, just as you were born with your skin color. there is no difference except that one is easier to conceal. your BS christianity was once used against your own ancestors preaching that african americans were "bush people" with inferior intelligence and that is was unnatural for races to mix. religion has always been used to defend bigotry and this is no different. people once claimed that their reasons for supporting apartheid were religious, should we have respected that belief?

I could care less whether a person is gay or not. gays have EVERY right that straight people have. but the claim to marriage is not going to be available to them, there is civil union. so stop being such drama queens. (pardon the pun) You will never convince me the struggles of blacks and gays are the same. sorry not happenin
California is the gayest state we have. And I mean that in a good way! They should lead the country in equality for all, not set us back like this. Civil rights ARE CIVIL RIGHTS and any of you assholes that think marriage is only between a man and a woman are pushing your religious/morals on the rest of us. Jesus Christ, what if the bible said black people are bad, hell, they'd be trying to get Obama out of the government and take away black's rights. California should be ashamed.
