Post Election Day, the folks at the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press surveyed the 'public' and asked them to name their favorite and least favorite campaign journalist or commentator.
Funnily, Bill O'Reilly topped BOTH lists.
How reflective of our country!

I absolutely love listening to him. I'm drawn in every time I'm channel surfing. He's blunt, direct, and fearless and that's what I dig about him. He will ask questions that most of us want to know without beating around the bush. I suspect many people are afraid to talk to him publicly because he's VERY direct and gets right to the meat of things.

Wah…wah…..wah……liberal whiners. Every other news stations is so biased it is sickening and yet people still complain that FOX is the ones who are biased. Well so what? One conservative station for 1,000 liberal stations…..get over it. I love O'Reilly. At least he stands up for what he believes unlike all of the liberal, ladder climbing, ass kissing reporters on all those other networks. The truth hurts….MOST of America is generally conservative…..and when all the "middle class" people who were duped by Obama the liar get a taste of what he really has to offer, they'll flop back over to the other side for the next election.

Bill talks harshly to BOTH sides. You also said when is fox ever balanced have you ever actually watched them broadcast news? Shows like O'Reilly and Hannity and Colmes are shows based on the anchor's opinion much like Olbermann on MSNBC. However, if you watch Fox when they're reporting the news they're the most fair and balanced of any network. The present Both sides of every argument, if you don't believe it actually watch them do the news. It's no coincidence that they smash the other networks like CNN and MSNBC in ratings.

you're right, the liberals are always whining even though they make up the large majority of news networks. And by large I mean every network except for Fox. ONE network doesn't show a liberal bias and they get all worked up. The democrats are showing this even more with their Fairness doctrine nonsense. Conservative shows greatly outweigh the liberal shows on talk radio and the democrats want to end some of them so that there's an equal representation of both conservative and liberal talk radio over the airwaves. Waa waa waa. America would rather listen to conservative talk radio! If we have to give up our talk radio I expect MSNBC, CNN, and CBS to be closed down. That way there's equal representation on tv too, wouldn't that be fair liberals? WHINERS! Now that they run congress and soon the presidency even MORE WHINING! Democrats never accomplish anything because they're too busy whining with each other!

Bill O'Reilly's a tool. Did you guys see him last month screaming at Barney Frank like a madman? I don't care what you believe Barney Frank to have done, it is grossly inappropriate to scream like a mental patient at a United States Congressman, especially when he's an invited guest on your show. It was disgusting and certainly not the first time O'Reilly has acted that way. Total ass!

He is successful. He is polarizing. Being considered the best and the worst confirms this. His election coverage was not agenda driven (Barry lovers). The same cannot be said for the majority of the other outlets - most notably MSNBC.

I do not believe that Congress are above the people, but I do believe that they, and any other guest on his show, should be treated with respect. That does not mean that they shouldn't be questioned, challenged, and held accountable. It means that we need to have a grown-up discussion which does not devolve into a screaming rant, repeatedly yelling "you're a coward!" and not allowing the guest to defend himself. There is plenty of blame to go around for the current economic crisis and I will concede that Barney Frank certainly shares some of it, but that does not excuse O'Reilly acting like a maniac toward his guests and shouting over them when they try to talk. As far as I can tell, what "no spin" really means is you're not allowed to have a differing opinion.

Well I loved seeing him go hard after one of the sacks of shit that have helped destroy our economy. Bill expressed outrage at someone who was supposed to be looking out for the people but failed to do so. Bill expressed what many americans are feeling but we don't have his bully pulpit. With the state of things today Frank is lucky there wasn't a mob armed with torches and pitchforks outside the studio waiting to string him up. I'd love to take a shot at Barney Frank he's a real traitor to the people.

I strongly disagree with him on virtually every subject, but I do think he deserves to have a program. I just don't think it should be on FOX News. In fact, I don't feel that there should be any liberal or conservative news networks, period. Why can't we just have unbiased news? The reason that a rift has been growing between the people in this nation is partly because wealthy media moguls are trying to pit us against each other to further their already-excessive financial gain.
I'll listen to him on the radio if I happen to be in the car at that time of day but I don't go out of my way to listen to him.

the thing about bill o'reilly is that people mistake his ability to constantly interrupt his guests and interject his strong points of view for being a good journalist. he's too one-sided for me. in addition to all this, he's quite a hypocrite! if you ever watched the Jenna Jameson E! True Hollywood Story, she tells the story of her time on his show, where he basically condemns her for being a porn star, and then off the air he asks her to send him some movies she made! bleckkkk….be real and the public will like you better! JERK!
