If they'd only kept that money, those families would not be suffering right now!

Re: Bekkie – Your accusations on the Bible are so utterly incorrect, I won't even waste much of my time trying to correct you. It would be falling on deaf ears. You are entitled to believe what you will, even if it is complete lies. If you had ever read or looked into the Bible, you'd know differently and that is the text in which I choose to believe. There are denominations (aka: Lutheran, Catholic, Methodist, etc.) that pick and choose things out of the Bible that work for them and leave important messages out, but that is not what a Non-Denominational Christian does… I look at the WHOLE Bible as something I believe in.
No one is asking you to believe it… they're asking you to accept their RIGHT to believe it.

You obviously didn't listen to the message my posts were meant to convey… instead, you chose my words to mean that I "hate gays, would be insulted to have them have the same rights as me and that I am a racist and bigot". Mmk. That makes absolutely NO sense. You're right, it's none of my business how people choose to live their lives, so you have no right to condone the way I live mine and what I personally believe. If you actually read what I've said you'd know that I am all for equal rights. Marriage is not a right… you are not entitled to marriage. It is MY BELIEF that marriage was given to a man and a woman. Regardless of how my belief "offends" you, it is still MY BELIEF and the way I live MY LIFE… similar to how I respect homosexuals have their partners. It's not being homosexual that is a sin, it's PRACTICING it.
I really wish people would use common sense when they try to get their point across and not immediately assume and pull out the "bigot" and "racist" cards. It's so small-minded. But, you have all the free will in the world to spread your "knowledge" and I can do the same.

The problem may be more integral than that, I have interviewed this organization before and a lot of their staffers are Catholic clergy members who don't want money in exchange for the work they do. Clergy members offer it up for free.
We need the same amount of volunteerism on the left to try and go up against them.
Re: Nikku – Actually, my gay friends are entirely aware of my beliefs and we discuss it all the time in depth. I respect them as partners and will watch them do what they want and believe in. It is NOT MY RIGHT to tell them otherwise if they choose to do it… they just know that I simply do not endorse it. It's only God's right to define human roles in life. You're right, I AM straddling a fence, which is what EVERYONE does in different situations.
My homosexual friends and I might differ in viewpoints, but does that mean we can't be close friends? If they respect my views, I will always respect theirs. Simple as that.

God created everything Himself and define the role of man Himself (including the role of marriage), so I don't see how my marriage was created before my "religion" and before man and woman were created. Please explain yourself, because, as far as I see, your comment makes no sense.

Personally, I don't see marriage as sacred or meaningful. I don't see how gays marrying will affect the marriages of heterosexuals.
I don't see how Gay marriage will make heterosexual marriages less meaningful. If anything, divorce makes marriage less meaningful. You can get hitched and divorced in 2 months.
I should probably stop rambling while I am half asleep but this is amusing me.
Re: Spleja – Breaking News: Homosexual marriage DOES NOT affect heterosexual marriage. I never intended anyone to believe otherwise. The only reason I do not believe in it is because I believe in the Bible and the Bible states it is a covenant between a man and a woman. Simple as that. Gay persons marrying has NO affect on me or a marriage I may have, yet I simply choose not to condone it and apparently the majority of California and countless other states feel the same way.

You can't say all men are created equal and then exclude whatever minority you decree is not on your level and does not deserve the same rights of citizenship as you. If anything, Jefferson's words didn't pertain to race as he was a slave owner at the time the Declaration of Independence was written. And as women didn't have the right to vote at the time, "all men are created equal" obviously didn't pertain to women either. Luckily, we've progressed over the past couple of centuries so that for the most part equal really does mean equal, and most of us have the same rights as our white male founding fathers. Nobody's asking you to support gay marriage. We just want you to stop standing in the way of gay people sharing in the same equal rights that most every other U.S. citizen is able to enjoy.
So because some religious evangelical group that has been around for decades, suddenly lays a few people off, they're being punished. Lol. And that article about Perez being good for america… Perez is forever pushing his gay agenda and is incredibly crude and nasty to everyone who doesn't agree with him and who he decides he doesn't like; and always gives them some nasty insulting nickname (get over the maniston shit).

Who's trying to stop the Mormons from practicing their religion??!! The Mormons took it upon themselves to dedicate a huge amount of time and money to ensure that homosexuals could not have the same rights that they themselves enjoy. They did this because they believe homosexuality to be a sin. Like it or not, the Mormons are the ones pushing their religion on others.
Re: Carmella Kent – It is my belief that God gave the sanctity of marriage to a man and a woman. Aka: I believe that marriage is not a right, but was given to whom God believed should be together. According to the Word of God, homosexuals are not entitled to marriage, regardless of how "unequal" you believe that is. I know you won't understand that and think I am being completely against gays, but, if you do… you're missing the message I'm trying to get across and you're making initial assumptions without REALLY thinking about my views. We plan just disagree, which is 110% okay with me.
It's not anyone's right to change what God wished upon his people just to fit what you feel is deserved. But regardless, you can change the constitution or instill news laws in favor of gay marriage, but you can't change the the words of the Bible.
