And the Mormon church is proud of it in the Times article!
Perez has been to the Sundance Film Festival for the last three years in a row, but we will not be attending this year. And, we call on everyone in the entertainment industry to do the same.

I'll never understand why people think gay marriage is a "threat." For one thing, heterosexuals don't have a perfect track record with marriage. Secondly, straight people are STILL GOING TO GET MARRIED no matter what. I don't think the ability for gays to marry will stop a straight couple in their tracks.

Listen, I want gay marriage to be passed so badly and I have argued my point many times with many different types of people but there is no way that the blame can be put ENTIRELY on the Mormons. It is unfair to those Mormons that may support gay marriage and it lets many of the other people (whether they are white, black, etc.) that DID vote against same sex marriage off the hook. Unfortunately we need to keep working to make people realize how utterly silly it is not to allow gays to have the same rights as anyone else. Until that happens though, we cannot put the blame on Mormons alone.

Hi im from Utah and I take great offense to this….different from popular belief there are a lot of people in Utah that ARENT MORMON! I know this comes as a shock to a lot of ignorant people, but to think that Utah should be punished and that boycotting sundance will help or change the mormons minds is pretty stupid! The most important people in my life are in Utah and they all believe in equal rights. so Perez do your research!

I live in Park City and do not support the passing of proposition 8,nor do most residents or business owners in this town.We may be in the state of Utah,but only about 2% of LDS members live here.Please don't punish all of us for the ignorance or bigotry of others..The businesses rely on this festival and due to the economy their sales have been hurting..Please don't do this..Park City is often called "sin city" by Utah residents b/c we don't live out lives by the mormon standards…

Second: Mormons have VERY little to do with Sundance. Most of Park City is owned by out of state people. Park City is "in Utah but not of it". Boycotting Sundance would do little.
Perhaps you should boycott the Utah Jazz (owned by a Mormon) instead.
Mormons were not the only ones that voted against H8. Go picket outside the First AME church, the local Mosque, a conservative or orthodox Synaguage or the Catholic churches. They also were against this.
