And the Mormon church is proud of it in the Times article!
Perez has been to the Sundance Film Festival for the last three years in a row, but we will not be attending this year. And, we call on everyone in the entertainment industry to do the same.

The mormon phamplets contained mis-information that influenced the voters. Tilting the vote in the pro-8 direction.
Besides, The California Constitution requires that any measure attempting to revise the underlying principles of the constitution must first be approved by a two-thirds vote of the legislature before being submitted to the voters. Proposition 8 was not approved through that constitutionally required process.
sundance is more to do with young up comming and seasoned professional people of all backgrounds and races and giving them the opportunity to show their Film work- this is a great start for many unknown newcommers of the industry and it awards Aboriginal and other people with financial issues grants to show their work and write scripts and do seminars that are helpful- Noone needs you to go to sundance to boycott or not go to boycott—don't take other peoples rights away to fight for yours-

I have to admit. I have stood up for every protest that we have had so far against this proposition. Truth be told. I live in Utah. But I am not Mormon. I was horrified when that bill passed. But to boycott all things Utah because of that church puts those of us that aren't even involved in the LDS lifestyle out of work especially with the economy as it is now. Boycott the churches themselves. And smaller things. But don't boycott something merely because it is in Utah. There are people here who aren't like those that passed that bill. My brother is gay. And I hope that one day he will be able to marry the one that he loves.

That's exactly why the campaign NO on prop 8 failed. Instead of reaching to people's hearts and minds the campaign decided to smear anyone with a different opinion. My concern is the legal ramifications. What made me realize WHY this issue was a major thing was seeing someone suffer in a documentary because they didn't have good health insurance. Their partner had but because they weren't legally each others partners they were basically left to suffer. That touched my heart and i learned more on why it is important for gays to have equal RIGHTS. Stuff like that reaches people not BS like 'don't agree with me? then you're a biggot!'
