Re: marcoSURF – you are a sucha retard….stop speaing for other people and listen to some of Mr Kings speaches……he does not single out blacks for equality…..he wanted equality for EVERYONE!

  2. 102

I have to wonder about the intent of this, Perez…. only because it could be interpreted as an ironic political commentary on your part. In some sense this calls out the black community for overwhelmingly voting in favor of prop 8 when they had experienced similar discrimination under the law during and prior to the time of Dr. King…. or you could just simply be quoting a man who most likely would be completely against the idea of allowing gay marriage based on his religious beliefs…. just sayin'. I heart you though.

Re: MoonX – MLK and his wife were VERY INTO LGBT RIGHTS, look it up, dumbass!

  4. 104

what about the injustice that is happening in Palestine because of the illegal Israeli Occupation? Those people are being bulldozed in their own homes, they have no rights, they live as prisoners and are murdered daily. And Barack supports AIPAC. The truth is out there and one day the injustice in Palestine will be over - what goes around comes around.

  5. 105

Re: marksluv – actually, MLK was very for lgtb rights. do your research before you shoot your trap next time.

  6. 106

Regardless of your position, please use logic.:

"Skin color is a benign, nonbehavioral
    characteristic. Sexual orientation is perhaps
the most profound of human behavioral characteristics.
Comparison of the two is a convenient, but
    invalid argument." (General Colin Powell)

    like you.

Re: 2setitstraight – I was just in Israel this September and I went to the Palestinian sector in Jerusalem, and it noticed the difference in the standards of living between the Israelis and the Palestinians. It saddened me to see the city divided like that; it looked like a military zone and reminded me of the former Berlin Wall. It was evident the Palestinians homes were not up to the same standards of the Israelis. It was actually heartbreaking to see people living like that.

  10. 110

Re: Pogue Mahone – Some are acknowledged, not all. Did Jesus vow to be celebrant? No. Was Mary his lover? Yes. Practically every Jew was married in his time.

  11. 111

I was just in Israel in September and it was clear the difference between the Israeli homes and those of the Palestinians. It was sad to see Jerusalem as a divided city and it looked like a military zone and reminded me of the former Berlin Wall. It was clear the distinction between the standards of living. It was heartbreaking to see people living like that.

  12. 112

WHY! WHY! WHY! Why does everyone think it matter if King was quoting a particular movement. That is irrelevant to the matter. I can quote Hitler to defend gay marriage. I can quote Perez to defend Hitler. You can quote any asshole and not give credit to it's origins if it has relevance to a matter. Using King's quote only makes MORE sense to make the mostly homophobic African American community understand the plight of the gay community and how it is a fight for civil rights and civil liberties.

  13. 113

Re: Lowjack10 – Except Jesus served a higher purpose, and this is why present-day priests do not marry; they are imitating Christ in His ministry. It wouldn't have really been fair for Him to have a family anyway as He wouldn't have had time to dedicate to them; His mission was to spread the word of God, to die for our sins and to establish His Church on Earth; he wasn't exactly the same as His Jewish counterparts! :)

  14. 114

Re: Pogue Mahone – The word of Jesus, the word of King, and now the word of the gay community has always been equality. Problem with the gay community is they are lathargically sitting on their asses and letting the Romans, the racists, and homophobic conquer. See the point.

    Re: The AmeRican Kid / ThisIs50.Com – I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. 116

Re: Pogue Mahone – A Catholic, i presume. My childhood minister was married and he cheated on his wife. Better than tickling my weenie.

  17. 117

    Re: Sgirl – AGREE!!

  18. 118

Re: Lowjack10 – Keep in mind, however, that Jesus did NOT get involved in the politics of His day; in fact, this is precisely why the Jews failed to recognize Him as the Messiah; they thought He would overthrow the Roman occupation and restore Jerusalem, when, in fact, He strictly concentrated on God's work in the spiritual realm and stayed out of politics and gov't affairs…..

  22. 122

Re: Pogue Mahone – Because he allowed his people to own slaves

  23. 123

You know what always kills me about the whole right/wrong Biblical sense of gay marriage? If you honestly believe in the Bible and you're against it, fine. If you believe it's a moral issue, fine. The fact is, is you aren't living the life of a gay man/woman, so why does it matter? If it's the Biblical thing that bothers you, then why does it matter if you think they'll go to hell? It's not like they're dragging you down with them. Who caaaaares! This is the thing, if a person is estranged from their family and they are in a gay relationship, say they are well off. Good job, etc. Say the person ends up in the hospital, dies. Because their partner isn't a spouse, they will have no rights to that person's things, if there's no will written. The family will get all of the belongings. The family that abandoned their child, gets their belongings. That is wrong. No one is forcing anyone to believe what they believe. It's when people like Perez are dicks about it that bothers me.

  24. 124

Re: Sensitivity – it's PEREZ's site AND HE CAN PUT WHATEVER HE WANTS, if you dont like it LEAVE! CIAO!

  25. 125

Re: Lowjack10 – You must keep in mind, however, that the amount of pedophile priests is still a small number when compared to the amount of priests there are overall worldwide.Actually, there would be a similar, if not higher, proportion of molesting teachers,Scout leaders, camp counsellors, and the like in the public educational system per captia than priests but since it has to do with the secular society it's not so publically mentioned, and every church (or organization, or family, or anything) has it's dark past and it's shame.Your minister would also be an example but it doesn't make ALL ministers of his faith unfaithful; you can't judge an entire group by a few bad apples.

  26. 126

    Re: blblblb

i think it's something like 80% of STRAIGHT marriages end in DIVORCE. also, i don't give a shit if you marry your cat or if a mormon marries 12 women.. but mormon men usually are raping and marrying 12 year old GIRLS! that's what's wrong with mormons.. not to mention baptizing the dead!

  27. 127

    Re: HiHater

trust me, not one gay or lesbian person would EVER want to get married in a CHURCH! ha! and if they did, it would be a gay church.

  28. 128

    Re: lissygirl2

why are your gay friends against gay marriage?

  29. 129

Sorry to say homophobes, but gays will soon have civil unions that have the same recognition as a marriage. Keep your sacred word that doesn't define religious sanctity. It's not a religious word. Atheists marry. Gays deserve the benefits and rights of married couples, why? -b/c they are tax paying American citizens as you are. Don't be such pituitary chicken shits by seeing someone you fear being someone you are-A CITIZEN! Say it again…CITIZEN! If it's religion that creates judgment, rather than fear-your God loves all i presume. Your God is not a CITIZEN. Your God is your RIGHT! If you need a kidney, maybe a gay might refuse the gift.

  30. 130

Annnnd it is an unjust thing to lie to people about Utah, Park City, and Sundance!

    admit you are WRONG Perez!

You are not giving Utahans equal rights
    You are stereotyping Park City
    You are Destroying Art!
    what is wrong with you!
    know the facts!
    admit your mistake!

  31. 131

Perez, you have been painfully absent in the face of every other social injustice in the last five years. You want to be a freedom fighter? Then fight for the freedom of EVERYONE… not just your own community. A community, which, come to think of it, you have insulted yourself. Every time you make fun of a member of the trans community, you bring your attempts at movement three steps back. Think outside of yourself, honey.

  32. 132

Re: Pogue Mahone – I didn't judge an entire group by saying "better than tickling my weenie" Where and how did i do this? I made a comment. I think kissing another man is disgusting. Yet here i am defending gay rights. I don't care if a child molester is a priest or not.

  33. 133

Re: marksluv – Wow…Do you really believe that homosexuals *choose* to be gay?? Who would *choose* to be subject to such discrimation by hateful, close-minded bigots such as yourself?? Did you *choose* to be straight? Of course not. So how dare you arrogantly suggest that the decision is any more conscious for gay people?? You are so ignorant…

  34. 134

Re: blblblb – youa re sooooo dim….i feel bad for you…..i hope you dont have kids or at least get your tubes tied

  35. 135

Re: Casa Hice – so you're saying that just because there is a rise in the discussion about gay rights, you're sick of it and bowing out? you don't have compassion towards gay people anymore because they're complaining so much? you know, they have a right to complain. this is their time. hate was just written into a very democratic state's constitution.

and as for people who believe the King's quote doesn't apply just because he was "talking about black people" do not be so foolish. King was wise enough to know that the fight for justice doesn't just apply to one group of people. he knew that in order to fight for justice, you have to fight for EVERYONE who is being put down.

and while we're on the subject, shame on you perez! i know you feel very close to the gay rights issue because it directly affects you, but if you're going to use this quote, you have to pay attention to other injustices in the world!

  36. 136

Re: danger danger – it's 57% of marriages that end in divorce. if you're going to fight these homophobes, you need the facts or theyll ridicule you endlessly.

  37. 137

Letters to Birmingham is beautifully written. Definitley something everyone should read.

  38. 138

Re: TigerbitchyLilly – Homosexuality is a crime punishable by death under the country's theocratic Islamic government in Iran! I wouldn't compare this to the United States but that's just me.

  39. 139

Re: Lowjack10 – I'm sorry; I apologize; I mistakenly took the "tickling my weenie" comment as a jab against priests, implying they are all pedophiles.( Being RC,I get comments like this all the time!) I apologize I took it the wrong way.

  40. 140

Re: Lowjack10 – I'm sorry; I apologize; I assumed when you said "tickling my weenie" it was a jab that all priests are pedophiles(as RC I get this a lot!) I do apologize if I misunderstood and took it the wrong way.Sorry.No harm done!

  41. 141

Re: Douchedizzle – / How is it injustice if it was the voice of the people that voted for the prop 8 that won?? It is their right to vote & have a choice and just b/c you're all upset over the outcome, you're gonna whine and bitch until you get your way???? Now THAT is injustice.

  42. 142

Re: Pogue Mahone – No harm taken. Thanks. This isn't, as i mentioned before, a religious debate. I hate that focus groups are using religion as a matter in this to promote their cause. Religion shouldn't apply to politics-as you claim Jesus did not partake in his teachings. I wish this were followed today. Constitution = separation of church and state.

  43. 143

Re: Superpissed – there is a difference between the Baptist church and the Southern Baptist church. as someone from alabama, you should know that. and just because he was a Baptist doesn't mean he had to listen to all of the propaganda his church told him. it's called having a mind.

  44. 144

Re: Parramore – I can't think of one single state where a woman can get fired for being a woman but i can think of instances all over the country (by way of statistics) where women just get passed over for the job for a man. Some women don't have the opportunity to get fired because they might never get hired.

  45. 145

Re: AnicaYo – it was the voice of people who didn't understand what they were voting for who won. have you bothered going on cnn or even googling the mormon church and prop 8? the pro-prop 8 campaign twisted the fact–when they used any, that is–and they promoted fear.

have you seen the commercial where pro-prop 8ers claim that voting down prop 8 would mean kindergarteners would be taught about homosexuality? (as if that would even be a bad thing anyways).

the point is, injustice did win. if injustice is defined as "violation of the rights of others; unjust or unfair action or treatment," then how is taking away the right of a group to marry not injustice? it makes gay people in california second class citizens. they aren't equal because they can't do everything straight people can do.

  46. 146

It disgusts me that you would even compare that quote to your little proposition 8. You obviously don't know the true injustice that black people went through during their days & they deserved to be treated with equality.

How is anybody treating you in that way that you feel injustice has been brought against you?? Because you lost a majority vote?! Who are you to silence the vast majority of California who voted for Prop 8??

And I completely agree that if gay marriage becomes legal, so does polygamy. And it is actually their RELIGION and they don't get to do that, so you can imagine how much injustice THEY feel over it. I don't see you out there rallying for them, no, you're upset at them and you want to destroy them because of the fact that people ARE bringing up the whole polygamy thing….that's the only reason why you blame this whole thing on them!

You need to get your shit together dude.

  47. 147

    Amen!

  48. 148

  49. 149

Re: AnicaYo – You're only right in that it was vote, but you're pretty foolish on the "Whine" and "Bitch" comment. African-Americans and women wouldn't even had the option to vote on Prop 8 had they never "Whined" or "Bitched" Don't be so transparent with your comment. Of course gays should bitch and whine. This is what the Constitution allows in that dissent is a right of the American people.

  50. 150

Re: MoonXRe: MoonX – [re=3114219]Re: he is speaking about all injustice, dumb ass, every thing that is simply unfair ,and people like you in the world.

  51. 151

Re: blblblb – it's not for you to judge,it 2 mem want to marry dont be selfish let them..every body isnt a hyper close minded bible thumper

  52. 152

The only "justice" you care about is persoanal justice, which IS NOT THE POINT MLK WAS MAKING. He wanted us to be dilligent about all assaults on justice. Think outside of yourself, honey.

  53. 153

Re: cali kitty – Calling a person such a name for making a wholly ignorant statement isn't the way to achieve anything. You don't have to be a Bible thumper to support Prop 8. While i oppose Prop 8, stooping to the religious defense is only stooping to the level of their ignorance. I'm an atheist, yet religion is the problem we are facing in it's disgusting use in this argument.

  54. 154

amen!! you ignorant fucks need to mind your own business and let these people live the lives they want to live

  55. 155

    Re: nicaface
You sir are ignorant. He stood for ending "racial inequality, racial injustice, and civil rights". Gays, Lesbians and Bi-Sexuals CHOOSE to be the way they are. Sad, those folks who choose that path will rot in hell because of their sad choice. This has never been condoned, approved or embraced. Repent, rehab do whatever it takes to "get right" and stop bitching and complaining.

  56. 156

    Re: Jessica Rabbit
YES I firmly believe being gay, lesbian or bi-sexual is a CHOICE, albeit a very bad one…but a CHOICE. I firmly believe that the good lord above has made it plain and clear this is true. Pull out the book and research some. Judgement day will come and I will make sure I pray for the souls that made this horrid nasty choice.

  57. 157

Re: marksluv – just curious, did you choose to be straight?

also, did you know that scientists did a study of brain patterns and the more homophobic a person is, the more homosexual tendencies and attractions he has?

huh, a little case of self-hatred, maybe?

the point is, what if your son were gay? would you tell him he couldn't get married because he loved someone of the same sex? how is that at ALL fair?

and i also remember Jesus telling us to forget the Old Testament. He came to earth to forgive the human race and tell them not to judge others, to erase what they thought they knew. Matthew 23? The Sermon on the Mount? if being gay is wrong, let God be the judge of that. don't insult Him by acting as if you know His intentions.

  58. 158

Re: marksluv – ps it's judgment, not judgement.

  59. 159

Those that believed what the Civil Rights Movement ( race equality) and MLK stood (equality through peace) Marched, were arrested, GOT KILLED, got the dogs and the hoses turned on them.

What are Gays willing to sacrifice for their right to call their unions a marriage? Are they willing to go through the same fate as those that march in the 60's? Are they willing to die and bleed and lose family ? Because the Civil Rights Movement was not just a Proposition on a ballot. Much blood was spilled. Can you see why some are upset with comparing the rights to marriage for gays with MLK and the Civil Rights Movement? Plus the message of peace that MLK PREACHED does not correspond to the black and latino bashing that has happen since they were blame for the passing of Prop 8.

Luckily for Gays ( thanks to MLK and the Civil Rights Movement) they wont have to bleed for their right to marriage but they do need to organize better and get a leader that can represent them instead of using MLK to further their cause.

  60. plano says – reply to this

    160

Listen to Elton - Perez and get off the hate.

  61. 161

Perez Hilton (or whatever his real name is) has blocked my IP address from posting comments. "Well, what kind of hate-filled, filthy speeched comments were you leaving?" you might be asking yourself… Hmmm, let's see, there was scripture from the Bible… oh, and then there was scripture from the Bible again…. what else, oh, right - scripture from the Bible. FREE SPEECH MY @$$ - Perez & his lemmings are some of the most small minded, hypocritical, idiotic, sorry excuses for human beings I've come across in my life. He's a bottom feeder - and since the election, his site has basically become a gay rest stop - ew….I shudder just thinking about the kind of people that are Perez Cheerleaders… so sad, so easily swayed…. Perez doesn't like people posting the TRUTH - and we're told about people like him and his lemmings in John 1:5 - And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not… Perez silnces that which he doesn't understand… the mark of a small man. Sad….Kind of funny - given this specific post - All MLK - freedom this and freedom that… you're such a sorry, 1 sided douche, Perez.

  62. 162

IF you think MLK meant the Gays, then he must mean the injustice the Gays are trying to inflict on the MORMONS (No, I'm NOT Mormon)!!

  63. 163

As if the injustice African Americans had to historically endure equates to the Gays not being able to marry. You are able to do anything, go anywhere together; live together, have a ceremony together! You can create a contract to leave your assets to eachother; everything a married heterosexual couple can. And you think that MLK referred to injustice as Gays not being able to marry? What a joke!! And a insult to African Americans!

  64. 164

Go to D Listed if you want true gossip from an incredibly brilliant gay guy. I don't have anything against gay people; this guy is truly funny and smart.

  65. 165

it's grotesque, the way you appropriate the sentiments of others for your nasty, hateful site. you cannot rehabilitate a pig Perez, and you are a pig ..

  66. 166

Martin Luther King would have voted YES on 8. Ignorance. Geez your giving your "community" a bad name. Marriage is not a constitutional right Perez. Nobody owes the gays anything. Guess what the people don't want it…obviously, if you have to keep crying about it. This site is getting annoying. STOP COMPARING GAYS TO CIVIL RIGHTS. This is so irrelevant compared to what Dr. King was fighting for. These comparisions are just insulting. He's turning over in his grave. This goes for the Obama comparison as well!

  67. 167

I really wish that Perez would stop comparing Blacks struggle for civil rights to gay people wanting marriage….i have not seen ANYWHERE in history where gays were being hung and burned THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!! I mean it wasnt until gays were getting hurt that they started hate crimes anyway, before that 1000's of blacks were either hurt or murdered and this country could have cared less. I mean im for gays gettin married i dont see the big deal….but PLEASE it is in NO way in comparison to blacks struggle to receive rights. I can go on and on about this but im not even going make myself mad about it.

  68. 168

Although I know gay and lesbian issues are close to your heart, I hope you heed that message in everything you to.

  69. 169

MLK's niece says "yes on 8"!!!!

  70. 170

i'm pretty sure- MLK was not reffering to the equal rights of gays. he was a pastor, religious man. i wish this man was still alive so he would tell you NOT to use his quotes!

  71. 171

Re: FallenAngel – i wish you would read a newspaper. coretta scott king (i hope you know who she is) said that GAY MARRIAGE is CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUES. just because there isn't as much violence (keep in mind, blood has been shed–matthew sheppard, anyone?) doesn't make it a fight for equal rights.
that was the civil rights movement. it was the fight for equal rights for all civilians.
so, by saying that perez cannot compare gay rights to black or women's rights is undoing everything for which King strove.

  72. 172

Re: MoonX – LOL i LOVE ur comment! so true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  73. 173

Re: AnicaYo – No I am going to "whine and bitch" when the majority gets to vote to take away the rights of a minority. That is wrong. No one group should be singled out whether it be black, hispanic, islamic, mormon or gay in this country. All should be equal and have the same rights.

  74. 174

Re: danger danger – Well….. both of these men were born and raised Catholic and both agree that marriage should be between a man and a woman… They also do not feel (like many other "straight" couples that aren't married, and aren't getting married) they need a piece of paper to define themselves and their commitment to each other…… basically….

  75. 175

no he wasn't referring to SODOMY when he made this statement.n frikkin idiot

  76. 176

Re: Parramore – OK FUCKFACE. WHAT IF I WANT TO MARRY MY SISTER. DON'T I HAVE THE "RIGHT"???

  77. 177

Re: danger danger – YOU DON'T KNOW FUCK ABOUT MORMONS THEN, DO YOU ASSWIPE?

  78. 178

Re: Superpissed – Ummmm, then why are you here?

  79. 179

WOW PEREZ SLAP UR SELF FOR THIS ONE. DONT INSULT MLK WITH UR GAY BULLSHIT…

  80. 180

THIS man was the real deal. Obama is no MLK Jr! Can you imagine wht he would have thought about the abortion issues that Obama has taken part in allowing??!! He would have been APALLED!

  81. 181

Re: Bumbo Klaat – They've actually gone back and pretty much proven that your savior was fucking a whore. The Holy "Babble" is the biggest work of fiction ever written…amazing for a read if you want to read about all that stupid shut…a pregnant virgin. Fuck that, it's so stupid. I'll read the Harry Potter books any day, those are WAY more believable.

  82. 182

Re: Pogue Mahone – If you claim you can't judge all priests by the ones that rape little boys, then wouldn't the same apply to gays? You can't judge all gays by the behaviors of few. I'm married, and I'm very happily married to my husband. Neither of us think that gays getting married would undermine OUR relationship in any way. We're not prejudiced against anyone…frankly, I'm so sick of Christians. They preach tolerance and acceptance, but never practice what they preach. You're all pathetic and make me sad. I will continue to judge all priests by the actions of a few while you judge all gays by the actions of a few, and I can promise you I'll never leave my son alone with a priest!

  83. 183

Re: marksluv – HAHAHAHA, I'll wait for the Rapture so that all you irritating Christians are finally gone. Like I said, I'm tired of your "Babble" preaching tolerance and acceptance while you practice hatred and bigotry. A very wise person once said that religions that fail to adapt to changing mores are demoted from religions to metaphoric myth systems. Christianity falls into that category.

  84. 184

Re: Parramore – SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU PIECE OF SHIT, THIS WAS MORE THAN 40 YEARS AGO, AND ITS ALL ABOUT DISCRIMINATION AMONG RACES.

  85. 185

I am so thankful that all of these heterosexual people seem to know everything about homosexuals. I was just curious where you all get your information? Was that from being gay or from being gay? And similarly, I might ask why you think you have any insight if it was not from one of the aforementioned sources. If it was from the church…what does it know about homosexuality? Seeing as how it has never acknowledged this it probably doesn't know much.

At what age did you all make the conscious choice to be heterosexual? I was just curious because it seems to me people are just attracted to someone at some point.

  86. 186

Re: JuliaGulia – then stop reading it….believe me….no one would miss your ignorant comments….

    stop bitching….take a fucking pill

  87. 187

did you forget to mention it????

    oh yeah…..because it doesnt exist
