Flour Power
I posted a blog last week that angered some people who didn't know how to read properly, I then wasted my own time defending myself and now I regret that.
There is a fine line that distinguishes the difference between exercising our freedom of expression and offending others, for example the debate regarding freedom of speech vs. hate speech…. i feel that this principle should apply to protestors also. It's a pity that some groups feel the need to assault people as opposed to fighting with words.
Whenever I feel the need to vent about something that feels unfair to me I reach for my computer, I don't run out of the house with abusive intentions. I don't expect everyone to react the same way, but I do expect people to respect each other. Maybe that's my first mistake? It seems lately I am learning that there are too many people who put another species before their fellow man and that's sad. I don't wear fur, but I don't think I have the right to ATTACK those who do. No one has that right.
PETA should focus their efforts on educating people on what they believe are injustices instead of seeking press via harassing those in the limelight. I received an apology too many days late from the PETA folks (the blog removal was too little too late) and today I'm pissed at the bag of flour thrown on Lindsay last night. Not because I got powdered down, but because the girl who threw it acted like an animal herself. I take that back, it's an insult to animals to group her in with them, my dog is FAR more civilized than that person. I would have more respect for them if they didn't use other people to get their point across. Lindsay, Mary Kate, Ashley Olsen, Anna Wintour and the rest of the targeted celebrities aren't the problem, I'm pretty sure they're not the only ones wearing fur, in fact, they should be appreciated by PETA for giving them a target. If it weren't for them, who would get them press?????
I know I'm probably going to get a lot of angry emails in response, but I don't really care. I got enough last week for no reason so I'm more than happy to ignore the nastiness after seeing what I saw last night. I'm not about to throw on a fur coat in retaliation, but had I had one within reach, I'm not sure I would have walked away from it.
p.s. when was the last time you saw an animal attack one of its own in defense of a human? hmmmmm….. that's one to grow on!
p.s.s. i think there are plenty of families that could have used that flour for a meal. nice job, lady.

I cant beleive I wasted precious minutes reading that pile o'crap. Shes an idiot.
It's called supply and demand, you stupid woman! If people wear fur then there's a demand for them resulting in animals being skinned alive to supply these stupid ignorant people.
I do feel strongly about this because 2 years ago I saw the video on JLoDown.com website of dogs, cats and badgers being skinned alive. They do not kill the animals because it will mark the fur so they are skinned alive!
There's one clip of a badger hung upside down and his skin is pulled from his body starting from his feet. After, his skinless body is thrown onto a huge pile of barely alive animals and he looks at the camera and is breathing heavily. I cried because I couldn't believe he was still alive after all that!

You know famous people are not the only one's who wear fur. This is the united states and wearing fur is not a crime. Attacking someone is. If it is in the stores and for sale and I like it, I am going to buy it. To attack someone because you do not like what they are wearing is wrong. I hope the attacker went to jail. Well. If the celebrities are the main target, there is another reason besides the publicity. THEY HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY ALL THOSE FUR CLOTHING! So, if you know that there are PETA activist waiting outside your doorstep with flour or ink or whatever, then you'll think it twice before buying a fur coat. Thus, the fur coat is somehow diminished by one. It is a beginning.
I respect PETA and whatever they do to protect animal who can't speak for themselves is right. GO PETA GO!!

Animals were meant to be eaten and worn as they have been for hundreds of thousands of years..before tofu and soy milk, it was needed to survive and if we all thought the way they did. we would be overpopulated with animals.
animals are not people. animals will not die for you nor will they understand why they are being killed, it is called a food chain and even humans have fallen victim to knowing they are not on top. everyone has a predator, it is survival of the fittests.
this of course is just my OPINION. we are each entitled to live the way we choose and PETA does not see it as just a freedom of expression but rather they take it to the next level.

I don't like fur coats like fox fur, but did you know the Mink is a man bred species SPECIFICALLY created for thier fur? We had some idiot PETA fans in my hometown like 20 years ago break into a mink farm and release them all into the wild. Most of them died because they have never been in the wild ever. They don't know how to hunt, or how to build a shelter. They don't know predator from friend.
If they love animals so much, they should have kidnapped the minks and built a refuge farm where the minks can live out thier man made lives naturally.

having divinity over animals does not mean that we are more important than animals. all living beings have importance. it is our responsibility to protect them. i think it is sad when anyone speaks with such an entitled tone. empathy is something too many people lack. it would behoove lyndsey and her lover to gain some insight on that front… that notwithstanding peta goes too far. they lose their message when they act out physically…. people have the right to wear fur… when people evolve they don't want to wear it… so it's about education and caring about more than yourself.. its a myopic culture sadly… raising the consciousness will not be done by acting as if you are without one… and peta has done that here.
