But, we need to be careful how we fight this and not cut off our noses to spite our faces. The Sundance Film Festival is probably one of the few places in Utah that gives the LGBT community a stage to showcase their work and their community. To threaten that with a boycott is detrimental to the human rights movement. Let's fight this fight by educating those who voted Yes to 8, let's not go after those who give the LGBT community a stage to get their message out! Especially in UT! The LGBT community needs a welcoming stage in UT to showcase their work! Let's focus on Education and getting the message out! Educating the masses who voted yes is the best weapon we have right now.

All of Summit County (which contains Park City) has a Mormon population of only about 34%. Not to mention Salt Lake City is only about half Mormon. By boycotting Sundance you are hurting thousands of non-Mormons, and for the most part, extremely liberal people – not Mormons. As a life long Catholic, liberal, non-polygamist, Salt Lake City resident, I am sick of being stereotyped by anyone living outside of Utah. Honestly, we are tired of Sundance growing out of control and ousting the locals anyway. Maybe it's better if all the celebs don't show up this year.

While I am not LDS, I have lived in Utah the majority of my life and I can attest to tell you that the LDS population is highly educated. Utah has one of the highest % of adults with a college degree. Re: Dabid – I don't know if you live in CA, but there was an ad that came out about a week before the vote saying that Obama was for NO on Prop 8, which honestly, doesn't mean shit since he can't vote in the state of CA.
