Prince Does Not Believe in Gay Rights

The new issue of the New Yorker features a short, but very revealing interview with pop star Prince.
His Jehovah’s Witness beliefs appear to be the thing that guides his life these days.
The Purple One also talks politics.
He thinks the people on the Right use the Bible in the wrong way to advance their agenda at times and that the Left is way too 'anything goes'.
No surprise, he ISN'T a supporter of gay marriage.
here’s how it is: you’ve got the Republicans, and basically they want to live according to this.” He pointed to a Bible. “But there’s the problem of interpretation, and you’ve got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn’t. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum you’ve got blue, you’ve got the Democrats, and they’re, like, ‘You can do whatever you want.’ Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right.”
When asked about his perspective on social issues—gay marriage, abortion—Prince tapped his Bible and said, “God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, ‘Enough.’ ”
Prince also told the interviewer that like other Jehovah's Witnesses, he knocks on doors to spread their word.
We hope he knocks on our door one day.

Let's start with the crazy Sodom and Gomorrah story, which Prince is apparently fond of. God found one family to be righteous. As usual, your idiot god ended up picking the wrong people (just as he had done with Lucifer, Adam and all the people, including unborn children, he drowned in the Great Flood).
The righteous father offered his daughters to the men in town to rape. The righteous mother? She had the nerve to look at god's destruction, so he killed her. The righteous daughters? The first thing they did when they left town was get their righteous father drunk and they had sex with him!
In other words, your make-believe god doesn't know shit about morality. Otherwise, both god and Jesus would have spoken out against slavery instead of given tips on being a good slave.

Re: jaye619 – Perez is viewing Prince's comments and beliefs as an attack on human rights, since that is what Perez and others are pegging Prop. 8 as, an attack on human rights. However, he is misconstruing JW beliefs as prejudice, when that is the complete opposite of the truth. Perez has been telling all of us for weeks that if we do not support gay marriage, that we are as bad as someone who is racist, that we no longer can have an opinion or have the right to have one.
I recall in an earlier post by Perez on this topic, that he said that marriage has nothing to do with religion. God performed the first marriage in the bible in the Garden of Eden, before Adam and Eve sinned. God created the marriage arrangement. Perez says he's down with Jesus, which would mean he's down with his father too, right?
Perez has gotten all worked up, as has everyone else. When something pisses you off, the more you talk about it the more riled up you get!

Perez I'm asking nicely, PLEASE lay off the Jehovah's Witness. Please dont talk without knowing the facts. Jehovah's Witness DO NOT ge involved in political affairs. They remain neutreal and keep to themselves when it comes to politics. They respect everyones beliefs and let people live there lives as they choose to. They do however believe in the bible and in what God teaches. This does not mean they will judge you though. They know that ONLY God has the right to judge others.
Just because they dont agree that having sex with your same sex is right doesnt make them bad. They are just believing in what the bible says.
Still you wont find any JW in a rally for or against Prop 8. They are good people and you should talk to them when they come to your door, just so you see that you have them all wrong. Prince is a BAD representation of JW's. I doubt he is one, or else he'd kept his mouth shut.

Remember, Prince still lives in Minnesota (Paisley park!) and it's very religious, specifically Christian. Kingdom Hall, the Jehovah church is everywhere, and those elders will get you my friends! Besides, Prince believes that you have to make bibles and work a certain amount of hours for the church or you're not going to heaven!

i'm not sure he is a practising Jehovah's Witness. he refers to when 'God came to earth'. Jehovah's witnesses don't believe God and Jesus are one and the same, like many mainstream Christian religions (the trinity doctrine), so they don't believe he ever came to earth. Its a fundamental difference. I would have thought a Jehovah's witness would know that.

I don't understand why people are so up in Prince's face about what he said. It says right in the bible that it's a sin to be gay. Leviticus 20:13 — man shall not lay with man as he does with women. Seems pretty simple to me. If you're gay, that means you hate GOD. What else is there to say about it ?
Seeing as how those who have spoken negatively of Jehovah's Witnesses can't seem to speak intelligent complete sentences without profanity or desperate, outlandish, and inaccurate accusations, I rest my case.
You want to learn the truth about Jehovah's Witnesses? Seek one out and ask them, or visit watchtower.org. If you insist on making assumptions (or asserting you know the "Truth" about them due to negative personal experience), you either have been lazy and haven't done your own research or there's a reason you're not one of Jehovah's Witnesses anymore.

JW's are nice people. But we are humans and humans have to eat, drink, shit and fuck. So whatever. I'm still nice to them and I talk to them. They just get disappointed when I tell them that I LOVE to fuck. Because well I do. I'm a very real person and I don't try to be someone I'm not. Like obviously Mr. Prince is. I LOVE sex and will keep loving it until 'it' doesn't work anymore I guess. And what other human doesn't like it either? I believe I have the right to choose who I want to fuck. I think that if everyone gay or supporters there of feel the need to express their opinions and force everyone to listen to them; why cant people that dont support it express their opinions freely without ridicule.
