Chuck Norris Doesn't Get It
Filed under: Gay Gay Gay > Politik
Right-winger Chuck Norris has equated the LGBT fight for gay marriage and equality to anarchy in a new column.
WTF???????
Here's a little taste of Chuck's thoughts:
"There is a difference between respectfully advocating one's civil rights and demanding public endorsement of what many still consider to be unnatural sexual behavior through cruel coercion and repression tactics."
"On Nov. 4, the pro-gay community obviously was flabbergasted that a state that generally leans left actually voted right when it came to holy matrimony. "
It's called a fight against the notion that separate is equal, Chuck!
Also, have you heard of the separation of church and state????
We're all for people having different points of views, but when their religious beliefs get in the way of OUR RIGHTS, we're going to speak out loudly and unapologetically!

Since it is true that, from a legal standpoint, marriage is defined as a contract whereby individuals share mutual rights of survivorship and various other rights, gay marriage (again, legally) is the equivalent of leasing a car or financing a television (both of which are transactions involving similar exchanges of rights, such as the right to possession and the right to payment).
Of course, the only way to argue against the allowance of gay marriage relies on traditionalism and religion. One might argue that since marriage has, in our nation, almost exclusively consisted of a union between a man and woman, this must be the correct definition of marriage. Unfortunately, that argument fails in light of great precedent (i.e. civil rights, enfranchisement, etc.). The final argument must rely on religion which our founding fathers clearly separated from our contractual rights while contemplating and drafting the Constitution.
Although, again, I respect all of you who oppose gay marriage from a moral standpoint, the truth is that it is unconstitutional to deny homosexuals their right to contract, which is exactly what Proposition 8 does. When Proposition 8 comes before the courts, as it inevitably will, it will be struck down. This is a trend I presume will continue throughout our nation until language is added to the 14th Amendment permitting the act.
Gays are not hurting anyone! I'm an actual, baptised, born again Christian (you would not know it from my vitriolic posts) but I belive it is bullshit for someone to exclde a p-erson from society just because they love someone of the same sex! WTF! a gay person can't be a good person? Fuck that!
Re: knowitall – Well, you are very wrong. I have quite a few gay friends, and they have been my friends long before this debate (since childhood). I do not look down on anyone other than hateful or violent people. I am neither. Your attitude is not furthering your cause by any means.
Re: mich22 – Seriously???? Gross =/
Re: ShakeYourkitty – WHY SUGAHHHH…YOU'RE NOT ONLY MY NEWEST PEREZ HERO….YOU'RE A FELLOW DAYTONITE…(I DO KNOW WHERE WEST CARROLTON IS)…AS I RECEIVED MY DIPLOMA FROM WALTER E STEBBINS HIGH SCHOOL IN MAD RIVER TOWNSHIP, WHEN MY FATHER SERVED AS COMMANDER OF WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE….AND NO…I AM NOT SAYING WHEN…A QUEEN MUST KEEP A FEW SECRETS YOU KNOW. BUT SERIOUSLY DEAR, MY DIVINE SISTER LEONA RECOMMENDED THAT I CHECK YOU OUT ON THIS THREAD. AND I'M CERTAINLY GLAD I DID, CAUSE DARLIN YOU'RE POSITIVELY FIERCE !!!! WHILE I HAVE HOMES AROUND THE GLOBE, I PRIMARILY RESIDE AT MY ESTATE IN TEXAS THESE DAYS, AND IF YOU EVER HAVE THE URGE TO WANDER WEST, DO GIVE THE LONE STAR STATE A TRY. WE CAN ALWAYS USE ANOTHER STRONG, BLUNT SPEAKING, HANDSOME GAY ADVOCATE HERE IN COWBOY COUNTRY.

Re: JuliaGulia – I am with you. It's a sad day when just being a Christian looks bad. I do not hate anyone. At the same time I stand by my friends who are gay and respect them as people. I just believe in the Bible and stand by my beliefs, and will pass these truths to my children.

It's because he lives in Navasota, Texas…AKA hick capital! Actually, theirs probably more hicks in College Station where I am going to school, but it's Texas…what can you expect? Of course he's not going to agree.
Re: Monrow – BRILLIANTLY SAID MONROW. MARRIAGE TRANSCENDS ALL KNOWN RELIGIONS. WHY ONE NEED ONLY READ TODAYS ARTICLE ON MSNBC CONCERNING THE DISCOVERY OF THE 4600 YEAR OLD, STONE AGE BONES OF A 4 MEMBER FAMILY (FATHER, MOTHER, AND 2 SONS) RECENTLY DISCOVERED IN GERMANY TO PROVIDE PROOF OF THE FACT. CONSIDERING THAT CHRISTIANS WERE AT LEAST A GOOD 2600 YEARS LATE TO THE MARRIAGE PARTY TO BEGIN WITH, ONE WOULD THINK THEIR PRESENT DAY FOLLOWERS WOULD STRIVE TO BE LITTLE LESS JUDGEMENTAL
Since when does Chuck Norris matter? I lost all respect for him when I saw Arianna Huffington kick the crap out of him on CNN several weeks ago. Man, Chuck hadn't taken such a beating since Bruce Lee kicked his butt in "Return of the Dragon" - only the verbal beatdown that Arianna gave him was real. Chuck Norris is a bad actor (does he still get paying gigs, anymore?), and an irrelevant commentator.
Re: realsoccer49 – DARLING….WE'RE NOT ALL BIGOTTED MORONS LIKE CHUCK HERE IN TEXAS. I WOULD THINK LEONA AND MYSELF PROVIDE AMPLE PROOF OF THAT!
gosh. if u gays wanna have the rights to speak loud and vote for your rights, let the people who are voting against it be free to say what they want too. WTF!!!!
Ohh Perez, you should of not messed with Chuck Norris! Do you know what's under his beard? Another fist!
Your opposition to the will of the people (VOTED FOR TWICE in CALIFORNIA people) makes you look whiny and foolish. Keep crying and you'll be ignored even further by those who voted for YES on 8. Your protests don't gain any ground with any of us.
it is shocking how many people are stuck in the darkness…but it is true…they are

That's weird. The Chuck Norris didn't even hint at anything religious. I've loooovved Perez for years now, but all of a sudden he's turning into a bully and has irrational rebuttals, it feels wrong to read. Like someone hacked into perezhilton.com and has the real witty, lovable GOOD POINT MAKING Perez tied up somewhere. I want Perez and all homosexuals everywhere to marry the one they want to, but I also want Perez to fight a clean fight, knowing he can join the ranks of people who influenced change possitively. I'm not saying Gandhi, but at the very least Nehru-esque.
this asshole needs to die
Sorry dudes — Chuck Norris is AWESOME!! Do you know that Chuck can swallow a Rubix Cube and poop it out solved?
Go Chuck!!
Re: NotQueerAtAll – Re: NotQueerAtAll – you need to die..you are an asholle…nazi
Shut the fuck up Perez. He didn't even mention religion besides 'holy matrimony' which doesn't mean anything. If you look at it from a scientific standpoint it IS unnatural. He's absolutely right in calling out the way people like you have been acting. It was the people of California's RIGHT to vote how they pleased. You're getting in the way of THEIR rights.
show me where it says the words "separation of church and state".
Re: hard_candy – Yeah, a lot of people care about him. Do you know what he does with his time? He goes to Iraq and visits the troops. My husband has a picture with him and a signed canteen cup from when he was in Iraq. So STFU. What have you done lately to benefit anyone else?
i had actually managed to keep my head neutral during all this "hoop-lah" but somehow something perez said (ahem…whined about) in this post kinda woke me up…
wasn't marriage created to be a holy union between a man and a woman…so in that way, isn't marriage based in religion??? maybe i'm just being dense here so correct me if i'm wrong. but in that case…why can't gay people create their own type of "union" instead of trying to fight for something that is already so deep-rooted in religion, and still sacred to MOST people…myself included.
Hey Perez Hon, maybe you could learn something from "your gay Daddy" - Sir Elton John - here is what HE SAID about Homo Marriage — READ it and weep: "We're not married. Let's get that right. We have a civil partnership. What is wrong with Proposition 8 is that they went for marriage. Marriage is going to put a lot of people off, the word marriage.I don't want to be married. I'm very happy with a civil partnership. If gay people want to get married, or get together, they should have a civil partnership. You get the same equal rights that we do when we have a civil partnership. Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships."
Re: blondepa – Um, there are elections every year, mostly for local stuff, like PROPOSITIONS.
Jonster [48] says: If you choose your sexuality, one of the strongest drives in mankind's palette of impulses, then straight people need to ask themselves when they chose to be straight.
==============================
Ummm…what does homo sex have to do with homo marriage? Oh, right, the need to legitimize the offspring of that union. My faux pas [snicker]. I wonder, though, how would marriage change the relationship in any way?

Re: Vancouverite –
Hey douchebag-
Stop bagging on America . Canada can only do what they want because they've been riding on the coattails of America. If not for us, you guys would still be royal British Subjects, subjects of France or speaking either German or Japanese. Think about that next time you're sitting on your fucking couch drinking beer and watching Hockey Night in Canada, eh? The only reason we never invaded your ass is ya have nothing we want. Its just a wasteland of NOTHING! Heck, when have you seen an American move north to become successful. You should ask Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves, Celine Dion, Howie Madel or Michael J Fox which country is better.
Re: PooMcGee – Bravo. I'm straight but I think everyone deserves the same rights. Glad to have someone with a legal perspective weighing in. I really don't understand how people can actually try and take it away from others since it is called (even in the Prop wording) a RIGHT… which in this country, means EVERYONE is entitled to it.
"We're all for people having different points of views, but when their religious beliefs get in the way of OUR RIGHTS, we're going to speak out loudly and unapologetically!"
So your saying Perez that YOUR rights are more important then anyone elses? Where does it end? If I lived in California I would of been tempted to vote yes just to piss you off. When it comes down to it, someone sounds like they need to get over it and go concentrate on something else.
yen_menthol [52] says: notqueeratall: why read a gay mans blog when you don't support gay rights?
—————————————————–
You all are suckers for the wording. Supporting gay rights means supporting their "individual" rights, which they already have, to free speech, free love, freedom of movement … Girl Guides are for little girls, not for gay men; Women's health Clubs are for women, not for gay men; Boy Scouts are for little boys, not for gay men; marriage is a religious ceremony for worshippers of God, worshippers of His Word, not for gay men. What part of this don't you understand? Any homo can have a marriage ceremony in their living room; it just won't be legally recognized for spousal benefits, so what it comes down to is…homos are not fighting for their rights [because they already have individual rights] they are disguising a fight for money, that is intended to be spousal benefits for women who raised the children of the marriage, and then find themselves without the primary wage earner. Both individuals in a homo relationship can both be lifetime wage earners, so get a job and stop trying to pilfer money from the social system.
I write frome Europe, and I'm shocked to read all these insulting and hateful comments.
I personally believe that people should turn their intolerance towards persons who kill, torture, beat, humiliate, rape, and not towards people who just wants to share love.
It's called tolerance and respect, for something that doesn't hurt or affect anybody who doesn't want to relate to. It's private.
I didn't see that cuck's comment on gay married had anything to do with religion Perez? He has a right to voice his opinion on marriage just as much as you. Don't hate on his right to free speech.
We're all for people having different points of views, but when their religious beliefs get in the way of OUR RIGHTS, we're going to speak out loudly and unapologetically!
Mario, are you serious? You've basically just said that your rights supercede those of others. You talk over and over again about "equality", yet you continually prove that you're not willing to show the same consideration. Stop acting like an 8-year-old girl whose daddy didn't get her a pony for her birthday.
He gets it, it's his opinion and he's entitled to it like everybody else.
I don't think you get that.
well the truth of it all is prop 8 is fully constitutional No amendment shall be made to the Constitution which will authorize or give to Congress the power to abolish or interfere, within any State, with the domestic institutions thereof, including that of persons held to labor or service by the laws of said State. andThe powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. so when did the right of few trample the rights of all
Let the gays have their civil ceremonies and straights have their marriage. Seems simple to me. But this is a democracy and the majority has spoken.
Re: Pig_Nasty – yen_menthol [52] says: notqueeratall: why read a gay mans blog when you don't support gay rights?
Because it's a GOSSIP site, I don't read it because I SUPPORT him on his personal beliefs….since when is this a requirement? There's a LOT of us who are heterosexual AND support YES on 8; we have a RIGHT to voice our opinions too; or is this a one way street? Hippocrates
California is a very liberal state; one of THE most liberal states in the nation and the issue of Gay Marriage was put to vote by the people. The results are in and you can't stand the outcome. So, you spew hate and irrational behaviour and EXPECT ANYONE TO SUPPORT YOU? Perez, you're hurting your cause and I'm glad to see that!
Re: PooMcGee –
It is about time someone with actual knowledge of legal matters posts. I'm sure there is a rebuttal to this, there is always one. However, I have yet to see one on this site.
One thing that I have noticed is that people keep saying that no, they are not pushing their beliefs on others. Then they go on to state how "God" meant for marriage to be between a man and a woman. The problem here is that this statement alone could alianate Atheist heterosexual couples. They don't believe in God, so does mean they too should look for a new word to describe their bond?
I've asked this over and over again. Has anyone posting on here saying that marriage has always been between a man and a woman, ever taken a cultural anthropolgy class? how about sociology?
Yes, there is a significant difference between biblical history and secular history.
…Oh one more thing. Those against proposition 8 that get so heated as to insult people. Please realize that they too are entitled to their opinions. Calling people names is counter-productive. You can give someone something to think about, food for thought if you will. You will only do this if you address them respectfully. Treat people with the same respect you wish to be treated with, and if you find yourself being disrespected don't continue it. It's futile.
Gays MUST find another route. No, not the ass route.
Marriage in the good ol' U.S. of A. IS based on marriage in the bible. Man and woman.
Gays must find another way, such as calling it a "Union if Choice". Try to get that passed, I bet you will. People OWE gays NOTHING. Perhaps, you all should defect to a country who does not care. Do not try to change this country or shove your "religion" down our throats. As you, we are what we are.
A GREAT start is to STOP showing your pathetic half naked selves to the public who have NO WISH to see it. You might get somewhere besides being called perverted because you like to lick assholes. Nasty.
Just say NO to the Total Gym! Nasty old fuck. FUCK YOU CHUCK isn't it time for you to kick it already?
advice from chuck norris really;; do you ask you paperboy for advice on financial matters????
god, he's an irrelevant moron! also, more straight couples have anal sex than gay couples do, so his argument is useless.
Re: NotQueerAtAll – are you fucking retarded? do you not understand that marriage is a set of legal rights, not just a hocus pocus ritual in churches? churches don't need to agree with gays marrying, only the state needs to recognize their unions as legal so wills can be made, hospital visits can be made when one partner is ill, and other legal decisions all couples have to make together over a lifetime. the right to marry has nothing to do with your imaginary sky god.
lefty lady [78] says: Vancouverite – I agree that America has its flaws (just like anywhere else) but I don't agree with grouping us all together.
—————————————————–
I don't think it's a direct accusation at any particular individual ~ it's the culture, in general…the mindset. I'm from Vancouver also, and I have said the same things in much the same way. The U.S.A. has an attitude of selfishness, arrogance and beating people down, as in the case of PerezHilton, simply for money and sport. Look at the way Perez treated Britney while she was severely mentally ill. Look at the way Americans treated each other during the election campaign. Look at the way they intimidated a little old lady, simply because she was protesting her position, which was different than the position they were protesting. A culture of no dignity; no respect; no decency. The truth is the truth. You may not think you are extreme in these issues, but compared to the rest of the world, you are. Hopefully, Obama will set a better example than Bush has done over the past 8 years, because he is every foul character rolled up into one, and he is the "mightiest" American.
—————————————————–
Current legal issues aside, marriage is a civil right. It's a contract and it does not depend on any ONE religion for its justification. If you are gay and an atheist I don't understand the moral indignation expressed by others. As soon as you bring religion into the mix it all goes crazy. Marriage is not necessarily a religious ceremony so lets keep religion out of the debate. Unless all you religious types wanna start your own lobby of course.
To: PooMcGee [202]
——————————————————
As a lawyer, you should know that it takes at lease two entitites to make a contract. The Government of California has asked the electorate whether or not the majority of them would like the Government of California to enter into a "contract" with homosexuals regarding a legal right to marry, and the spousal benefits that would flow from that. Well, the majority of Californians have informed their Government, by vote, that they Do Not want their Government to enter into such a contract.
——————————————————
Proposition 8 does not pass constitutional muster because of the basic underpinnings of contract law ~
[Now, there's some good ole' double speak for ya].
—————————————————–
zarrafakt [254] says: Marriage is a civil right.
[That Eyeball is Fur eeking me Out.]
—————————————————–
Marriage is Not a civil right. First of all, there is no specific Constitutional wording which gives anyone the "Right" to marry in any of the Statutes. Secondly, marriage itself is a religious ceremony. It would be difficult to argue for the right to marry, when your very lifestyle is opposed in religion. So, you can argue for the right to unite, which is an individual right, which homos already have. Marriage encompasses certain attributes that cannot be upheld by same-gender unions, and that is the pro-creation of humanity. Failed on the religious basis; failed on the pro-creation basis; go ahead and have a civil ceremony in your living room, but don't expect to Demand that American taxpayers offer up the legal priviledges of spousal benefits, when they do not have the burdens of the traditional marriage.
—————————————————–
least*
PooMcGee [203] says: Of course, the only way to argue against the allowance of gay marriage relies on traditionalism and religion.

You would think that a lawyer would know that Federal Law supercedes State Law, and that every State that allows same-gender marriage, is actually opposing an existing Federal Law ~ the Defense of Marriage Act ~ which defines marriage as between one man and one woman.

Apparently you perez have never heard of separation of church and state because if you did you would know that it means that the state can not force any one religion on someone. Everyone is free to practice what every religion they like. Even if it is one who doesn't believe in the same thing you believe in.
Re: ShakeYourkitty – there are always the "squeeky wheels" in every group who yell the loudest and act the worst. I do not surround myself with hate mongerers ever, and I have not experienced in the church that my daughters and I attend. The only way to move forward is without insults and violence. Peace.
CHUCK IS A REAL MAN…HOMOS HAVE NO RIGHTS!!!
I dont care about someones sexual orientation, but your views always lean towards your sexual orientation Perez. Just like your views on the mormon church (and all other churchs). Your problem is, if it isn't your opinion, then you don't like it. I wouldn't have voted for it either. I work for a large corporation that gives same sex couples insurance, but I can't get insurance for my fiance who lives with me - WTF - is that fair - I think not!!
You are right Perez…separation of Church and state. The government shouldn't be marrying anyone.
Re: Pig_Nasty – You make sense little piggy.Im hungry for some pig tails now!!
Chuck Norris is a patriot. Thank you Chuck for standing up to the hateful gays.
Re: Pig_Nasty – A civil right based on equal treatment free from discrimination was the source of my comment but this can be argued ad infinitum. "Marriage itself is a religious ceremony" is not correct. Marriage happened way before religion hijacked it. How can athiests get married? Marriage does not need to involve a church or a priest.
Re: ShakeYourkitty – We do believe these things. Your attack on them is offensive, just how you feel that attacks on your beliefs are offensive. Why don't people who wish to have more legal rights in a same sex relationship work toward amending civil unions to their benefit, and take the "religion" out of it? Wouldn't that get to the root of the issue?
ANOTHER RELIGIOUS FREAK. Very sad. Jesus will not save you. When you die, there is no heaven. Your sorry hateful asses are buried and eaten by maggots. THE END.
P.S. Someone get him another facelift.
GAYS ARE THE MOST VICIOUS MONSTERS I HAVE SEEN !!!!!!!!!!WE MUST NOT LET THEM SCARE US INTO FEAR FOR BELIEVING THAT THE BIBLE IS TRUE AND THAT HOMOSEXUALITY IS A ABOMINATION TO GOD! WE ARE SEEING A FIGHT BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL GOING ON HERE!!FIGHT ON CHRISTIANS!!
I am all for gay rights but as a woman who has to witness misogyny on this gossip site all the time (and yes, you can gossip without degrading people and discriminate against them) I have to say that I feel some schadenfreude by reading Mario's numerous angry rants about people who are against gay marriage. Maybe, this is the only way he can understand how other people (mostly women) must feel which he constantly discriminates against and cyber-bullies on his site. Hate and discrimination hurts, Mario! And even you can be the victim!!!
Um- it's not just gay people who can't marry people of the same sex-
No one can marry some one of their gender regardless of their sexual orientation-
So obviously since no one can marry someone that shares their gender regardless of race, religion, creed or even sexual orientation-
there is no discrimination
or did I miss something
"Separation of Church and State! Separation of Church and State!" This has become like an automatic verbal reaction to any religon in a government agency, politcian, or law making process. SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE ONLY MEANS THE US CAN NOT ESTABLISH ITS OWN CHURCH/DEMONINATION RUN BY THE GOVERNMENT. PERIOD. It does not mean religon can't be praticed by the goverment and used to form laws. People completely misunderstand what separation of church and state means and have been severely brainwashed over to years to think there can be no religon in the government process. There most certainly is. If there wasn't, we wouldn't have "In God We Trust" on our currency, be sworn in on a bible in court and when officals are sworn into office, and congress would not be collectively praying before congressional meetings.
I am all for equality and gay marriage, but, I do not think you should say this guy is wrong for his beliefs, that is being hypocritical since that is his strong belief and yours is rights for all people including gays. I applaud anyone that speaks their mind even thou sometimes it is not what we want to hear.
Re: melb – kinda - the starting point is marriage. The debate surrounds who is and isn't elligible to be married with specific reference being made to same sex couples. The discrimination would be that man+woman is allowed but that man+man or woman+woman is not permitted.
Re: ShakeYourkitty – Please I have lots of gay friends and agree with alot of what your saying but, if you come on here and insult people and stuff you will not get any respect and fall under the typical stereotypical gay male!
Just because some person decides that the religious community decided what Marriage was defined as doesn't mean that every has the right to marry who they love. Be it a man or a woman. The definition of words can and has been changed. It's probably time to change it now to encompass the more realistic ideals of the world. Just because someone has different sexual orientation than others doesn't mean it's wrong. it's just different. I swear America is all "OMG DIFFERENT EEEEK". We were a country that people came to, to get away from repression. What happened?
I love Chuck Norris!
GO CHUCK!!!! Homosexuality is unnatural and he knows it. Perez, you might as well go screw a donkey or something, that is unnatural also.
Funny how here in America, we can not have our own opinions. Its the voters that gave the final word. Thats how a democracy works. Pres elect Obama along with Biden are both against prop 8, its not just the right wingers. The only hope for gay marriage died when Hillary lost the nomination. This country needs Hillary Clinton!!! I can not stress this enough. Hillary was discriminated against for being a woman, just like the discrimination toward the gay community. This country may be less racist now, but its more sexist then ever. I disagree with Clinton on abortion and many many other issues. But I put these differences aside for the bigger issues facing our country today. Thats why I backed her, she is one cool cookie and determined to better this country. However in both cases, the voters have spoken, and we as Americans need to honor that… even if we disagree.
I LOVE CHUCK NORRIS! He is one of the few people in hollywood that will stand up for his conservative values & I LOVE IT.
Perez, your people lost the vote so SUCK IT UP.
My people lost the vote and got OBAMA as our president, we conservatives have to SUCK IT UP and not complain about it and SO SHOULD YOU!
And YES OUR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS will continue to get in your way because this country is filled with RELIGIOUS people wheter you want to believe it or not. And just as you are allowed to speak out LOUDLY AND UNAPOLOGETICALLY so are WE! p.s. GOD BLESS YOU
Re: NotQueerAtAll – you are an idiot
Re: NotQueerAtAll –
MOVE TO MASSACHUSETTS PEREZ!!!
Im a Massachusetts resident… We've had gay marriage in our state for about 5 years now. To be honest, I notice absolutly no difference in my life or the lives of those around me… you know, except the fact that my gay friends can now get married. But other than that we did not fall off the earth into an inferno for allowing people to put rings on their fingers and have a ceremony infront of friends.
A lot of people are right though, this is not just the religious right who is trying to prevent gay marriage. Living through this here in MA, it was all walks of life who oppossed gay marriage. It was just the crazies who came out in full force to protest…
I love Chuck! That's exactly how I feel!!!!!
While your gay friends are damaging churches and other holy spots, they are only destroying their positon. Just makes you all look like a bunch of vindictive, evil maniacs. Why do gays need to be married? WHY? When I see that freak that wants to be man AND have babies…I realize how totally selfish you people can be. That doesn't help the cause either….Does anyone do what is right for the child anymore???? Or does everyone have a fucking ’cause' to promote?
Re: DJDW61 – You tell them, Big Blue.
Chuck's right - if God wanted you to marry another man he would have made you a woman!!! DUH! Gay sex is NOT natural!
While I agree that who marries who should be solely up to those two people, please stop the continued recitation of "separation of church and state" myth. The U.S. Constitution states, very clearly, that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..". This was done simply to avoid the religion-based governments of the European countries (specifically England and France) and to prevent the forcing of any certain religion on the new American citizens. There is NOTHING in the Constitution preventing the use of certain religious acts in our government. The Supreme Court has repeatedly upheld the right of the Congress and Sentate, as well as State governments and schools, to have an opening prayer before sessions, and the use of the word "God" in our national motto, as long as no specific religion is endorsed. Which "God" you choose to pray too, or if you choose not to believe in any "God", is completely up to you, but at least please read the First Ammendment before you quote something that does not exist.
Re: stars101 – Nicely put. I hope you take the time to read these posted comments, Perez. I would like to add that you are a whining brat and this is a temper tantrum. No wonder you like MANdonna so much…you have so much in common! You are a brat and she is a narcissist, that when you don't get your way, you start to pout and bash others that don't agree with you. This is complete rubbish!!! Grow up, Perez, grow up! Start acting like a grown man for a change…
I absolutly agree on the separation of church and state part!!!!! only in certain religions does it say that gay marriage is "bad" and now they are mixing religion in with state law? soo effed up…people should not mix church and state..Equality for everyone!!
Re: sparkles1 – Good point!
Re: devil_dawg_wife – Yes, I try and just read by I see comments that make total sense so I write addendums. Nice to see you write something nice that Mr. Norris does. Anyone that 'agrees' with Perez and MANdonna (hard candy, stupidity & sheer ignorance) for that matter, is very childlike and juvenile!!! Perez and MANdonna need to start acting like civilized adults or we should give these two a candy sucker to shut them up! They are truly acting like spoiled children, especially when they don't get their way.
PS I bet there is something in their psyche that makes them 'act out.'

Re: DJDW61 – WELL SAID!!!!! Adults (voting Americans) must ALWAYS have the childrens' best interest in mind. We've all gone through our childhood and we can see what were great lasting impressions or damaging! Think outside of ourselves and think for the children…
First of all getting married is not your civil right. Not just anyone can get married to anyone else, there is a series of questions you have to answer on a marriage license. You can't marry your brother, you can't marry a 10 year old. What you people are doing is wrong, you don't terrorize, threaten, blackmail and blacklist people to get what you want. You are attacking people for having different beliefs than you.
***We're all for people having different points of views, but when their religious beliefs get in the way of OUR RIGHTS, we're going to speak out loudly and unapologetically!***
Show us WHERE in the Constitution it says you can take it in the ass, Perez.
Oh.
wait.
it doesn't.
Chuck has a point Perez.
