Right-winger Chuck Norris has equated the LGBT fight for gay marriage and equality to anarchy in a new column.
WTF???????
Here's a little taste of Chuck's thoughts:
"There is a difference between respectfully advocating one's civil rights and demanding public endorsement of what many still consider to be unnatural sexual behavior through cruel coercion and repression tactics."
"On Nov. 4, the pro-gay community obviously was flabbergasted that a state that generally leans left actually voted right when it came to holy matrimony. "
It's called a fight against the notion that separate is equal, Chuck!
Also, have you heard of the separation of church and state????
We're all for people having different points of views, but when their religious beliefs get in the way of OUR RIGHTS, we're going to speak out loudly and unapologetically!

What makes matters worse for me is the fact that people like him are still able to call us "UNNATURAL" and there is little we can do about it.

It really fucks me off when people place gay people in the paedophiles in the same category. Gay people are the same as everyone else, we choose who we want to love. Paedophiles hurt and rape children and commit awful crimes. Perez can post on this as much as he wants, don't like it? Stop coming here. I'm also getting really fucking sick of people saying no to marriage because the bible said so. Your bible is bullshit and full of contradictions imo and I think it's appalling that this law has been passed based on people's religious beliefs when many people have different or no faiths.

Perez is acting like a spoiled brat! We must move on! Today I heard, for example, that president elect Obama got his first message from Al-Queda about his race, etc. Obama has to be prepared to take necessary steps as our president elect. The announcement said he may have to send more troops!

I agree completely. I think that people that place gays in the pedophile category are sadly uneducated. Pedophilia and Homosexuality are in two different arenas. I'm sure someone will undoubtedly find a way to point out that some homosexuals were abused or molested. Sure, some may have been. There is also the whole other spectrum of sexually confused and nymphomaniac people who were also abused.
Pedophelia doesn't involve love. It is a sexual perversion, there is no love involved. Pedophiles are aroused by the power they hold over their victim a child. Homosexuals on the other hand, are two grown people who experience sexual gratification with those of their gender. While some gays have sex for the sake of just "getting off" just as we heteros do, there are also those who do it as an expression of love. When two people are in love, that sexual expression comes naturally. This does beg a question though. Why is it that most people who voted yes on prop. 8 cannot get past something that goes on behind closed doors? why is all they think about sex related? Please do spare the bible talk though, because I don't think there is one person who adheres 100% to it's teachings. Not even what is writen in the New Testament.
Oh, and let's not forget that falling on a religious based ideology to support your point alianates Atheists. Are you telling them to find another word for their marriage too?
Anyone who's ever had to suffer through an episode of Walker Texas Ranger has been well schooled on the true meaning of "unnatural." And coercion and repression tactics? Talk about projection.

Re: SeekTruth – Those who worded this proposition said it was protecting marriage. To keep it "traditional". Based on what traditions? They knew better NOT to throw the religious aspect in there. At least not in the ads in english. The Spanish speaking voters had a couple of ads stating "protect marriage between a man and a woman, just like God meant it to be". If we were to conduct a survey amongst those who voted yes, we would find that most of these voters had a religious motivation for it. Speaking of votes, according to the numbers the Yes votes did not beat out the No votes by that much. Less than a 5% margin is really not that much. Still I find that many that voted yes were a little confused about what it meant. See, it was determined that the vote that passed by 61% back in 2000 was unconstitutional.Those over the age of 21 might remember this. When it was overturned in June, those who oppose same-sex marriage worked hard to come up with this proposition without directly using religion (sometimes) to sway voters. They used children to get their point across. I do wonder though. If up until two weeks ago gays were able to get marriage licenses, that means that for a whole 4 or 5 months there were same-sex marriages. Did anyone else's marriage become less meaningful because this happened? I don't think so. Marriage is only as "sacred" or meaningful as the two adults involved want it to be. Period.

HAHA oh my gosh, don't tell ME to check my facts. the founding fathers did not "set up this country for religious freedom." the founding fathers are people who signed the declaration of independence and advocated for national independence (particulary against the British). way before the founding fathers were the native indians and the PURITANS. and why are you giving me useless facts about when the "in God we Trust" motto first appeared in coins? the only reason i mentioned that motto was to show how religion and government are not 2 separate entities by pointing out that our money has those words written on them.
so next time try to make a cohesive and valid argument (with accurate facts).

I think that the first two should be separate but the last two are linked heavily. Your beliefs in god, or gods or nothing or whatever, influence how you vote and who you vote for.

Well, Chuck, there was a time in this country when "many" considered the abolition of slavery to be "unnatural".
I think many men (and women) against gay marriage are homophobic self-hating self-denying homosexuals.
But some of us have HAD IT with this madness and psychological terrorism! We will be responding with a NON-Violent Solution: The NATIONAL EQUALITY TAX PROTEST will be on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009.
Individuals are FINALLY gathering to TAKE A STAND against persecution from the Mormons & the Christian "Right". No vote will be needed on this one, folks.
EQUALITY is SIMPLE when you simply include EVERYONE.
Marriage was initially a religious institution. If there were truly separation of church and state, city hall would not be preforming weddings, but rather civil unions.
So you should really be advocating for civil unions if you want nothing to do with religion.

I find it funny when people give the definition of what marriage is. The first thing they say is " Its a union between man and a woman* If that was the case then why are there so many divorces, adultery, and plain out stupidity between this man and woman union. Other people say you're disrespecting God, but God also said love thy neighbor and don't judge or you shall be judge. I believe in God, but I don't believe in organized religion because I feel like all it does is brainwash people into believing what they think is right because of what someone else said. I also believe in treating people the way you want to be treated and so forth. Giving people a chance to be happy is what I'm all for but I get tired of people throwing rocks in glass houses when their houses are filled with more rocks than anybody else. Worry about yourself and let other people enjoy what they believe in. If the vote was for heterosexual couples to stop marrying each other I bet there would be riots and so forth. In other words LET PEOPLE BE HAPPY!
