I was screaming at the tv when Huckabee was talking. The logic of this man is frightening to say the least. Huckabee is absolutely right. Gay marriage is not a civil rights issue. Gay people can still get married, just not to a same sex partner. Marriage is essentially a religious institution, an institution that doesn't believe in homosexuality. So why do gay people need the approval and recognition of an institution that doesn't believe in them?
The more Perez talks about this issue, the more I want to ban gay marriage. The constant bitching and complaining is not helping the cause. These protestors need to get a damn job.

I'm not a fan of Huckleberry, but I didn't see anything so wrong in what he was saying. Did I miss something? Gay rights ARE a different set of rights, and marriage is between a man and a woman. Civil union with all the rights of a married couple is fine, but the whole point of marriage is to BEAR CHILDREN, which gay people cannot do. So, what's the problem again?

I agree with Mike Huckabee 100%! Marriage is an institution between a man and a woman. A civil union between two members of the same sex should suffice - it gives them most of the rights that a marriage would. However, marriage should remain solely between a man and a woman. That is my opinion and I don't care what you call me. I have the right to express that opinion - just as you have the right to express yours.

Social Security is a FEDERAL program. Gays will not be entitled to SS benefits until that battle is brought to Washington. Do some reading before you tell me I'm dead wrong.

There's been hate on both sides, like the incident that huckabee mentioned. Some homosexual activists jumped a 69 year old woman. They screamed at her, spit on her, and took her cross and broke it. They were also yelling at African Americans and using the "N" word. So there has been Christian bashing and unfair treatment from the gay activists, not just the other side.
I wouldn't have voted for Huckabee, but I concur with everything he said here.
