In his critique of Twilight, Roger Ebert gives the hotly-anticipated film just 2 and a half stars.
Variety also calls the film "disappointing."
And, the Associated Press doesn't like the movie either.
Bummer!

Well fuck them. I just saw and advance screening earlier today at Archlight and I loved it!!!! Oh and fuck you too! For being so mean to Britney when she was down, u just kicked her more and even tried to boycott Blackout. U may be slimmer now but what u lost in fat gained in annoyance!
honestly who cares lol. im watching the movie for some Rob eye candy. i liked the book, and frankly i think he's sexy as hell. shoot the whole movie could be just him standing there and i'd watch it.

I just saw the midnight release of the movie… It was alright. I mean it could have been better. But you can definitely see Rob and Kristen's chemistry, which is the main thing. I'm going to go see it again. That's for sure.

saw it. LOVED it. could've used better special effects and I'd have like to see The Cullens have more screen time then jessica and mike, though their characters were quite funny in the movie. other than that, Robert and Kristen have amazing chemistry. that kiss scene. wow. hope they get to make the rest of them. I know they'll never be as good as the books…most movies aren't, but I thought they did a great job and I'd love to see the other three books on the big sceen in the near future.
With all the publicity it's got I feel as if I've seen it already and I think it's c-r-a-p! Rob is still hot though!!!
The critics have no idea what they are talking about.
I just got home from a midnight showing and Twilight was one of the best book-to-movie adaptations I've ever seen.
The acting was flawless and the cinematography was beautiful.

yes it's different than the book, but duh. They can't POSSIBLY have all the same stuff and no matter what they did not everyone would be happy because we all imagined it different
It was a VERY well done movie, and I give it 5 starts(and I'm a die hard Twilighter)

I was so afraid this movie was going to be disappointing but after seeing it in imax at midnight I am blown away.

If Warner or Fox, or Dreamworks, or whoever with a lot of money had done the Twilight Movie, this will never be like this =)
However the book is amazing! Love it. Potter to the history.
Doesn't anyone remember the 1st Harry Potter…it was also badly shot with horrid acting! Same damn thing. The next will be betterb/c they will have a bigger budget. It's on tonight!!!!

Im praying to god that this movie bombs and makes all the little goth wannabes cry their little eyes out. Hes not hot, vampires arnt cool, and Twilighters are annoying.
I did go see it and I must say I was disapponited. The acting was good, just the screenplay was horrible Note: Melissa Roesnburg must die she killed it for me.
I watched the movie yesterday and I spent my whole day at the theater so I could get good seats and the movie was terrible. It looked like someone trying to make fun of the movie and I was very dissapointed. When Edward first met Bella and he had his hands in a fist he looked constipated and the movie was very dissapointing. It was more of a comedy then a love story and they changed some parts and it didn't match with the book.
i thought the movie was just as good as would be expected. i mean obviously its not going to be as good as the book,. id definitly go see it again
Disappointing huh?? Well i'm going this weekend, so i'll see just how "sucky" it is. I prefer not to listen to a bunch of A-hole "movie critics" with no life and no taste in entertainment.

this movie is FANTASTIC!!! i absolotely loved it. im gonna see it like a million more times. of course, the movies are never ever gonna be better thant he books but i was still really saatisfied. i cant wait to go see it again!!
okay I saw the movie last night and it was SO bad that people were actually cracking up during the serious scenes!!!!!!!!! Just think of it as a comedy and i'm sure you'll love it!!! lol!
OH who cares what they think, they are just a bunch of older guys who aren't into this type of movie!! twilight has a huge fan base and i went to the midnight showing last night and i loved it!
oh geez. these reviewers can suck it. i read all of the books in less than 4 days. i just got back from the movie and i cant stop smiling. IT WAS SO FREAKIN GOOD. the only bad thing is that it makes u fully aware of how alone you are because edward just loves her so much. LOVED IT
I went into the theater with mixed view points on what the movie would be like. Let me tell you this, it turned out to be the most incredible experience! I was not expecting it to be so good. I actually went with about 14 friends, some had not even read the books and they loved it as well. Some of the elderly critics said that the effects were not that great so I was expecting them to be corny…they weren't at all. They also said the meadow scene was lacking, but I thought it was absolutely amazing! I watched in astonishment as my favorite book was brought to life on the big screen and the only thing I want is more!! The acting was incredible…you could actually feel Edwards torment in Rob's emotions. Kristen was a fantastic Bella, perfect in every way. I feel so lucky to have been able to see this movie and I will see it over and over again! Twilight has become a household name and this movie just reinforces all the hype!!!

ive seen the movie and i thought there was some parts that is funny, but there's also some parts that were disappointing but nonetheless it was a good movie and i would still see it again and again.

mostly everyone i tlked to loved the movie. i saw it at midngiht, then again that friday, and again that sunday. and there were crazy lines all three times. the people who didnt read the book didnt like it as much.
