Heath's Family Disapproves Of Book

Uh-oh!
The family of Heathus is trying to distance themselves from Janet Fife-Yeomans' Heath: A Family's Tale, calling some of the unauthorized biography's assertions, like that Ledger suffered from bipolar disorder, "grossly inaccurate."
In a statement, the Ledger family says:
The book contains gross inaccuracies, false allegations (against Kim Ledger) and many incorrect and unsubstantiated comments about Heath in his youth, provided by estranged family members and some people who had little to do with Heath's life.
Further, Fife-Yeomans has no right to infer that we (as Heath's family) in any way authorised this book.
We have never contributed to or authorised any publications about our son.
Fife-Yeomans is sticking to her guns, as she got her information from Heather's estranged uncle, Haydn.
But, Haydn's proved to be a wild card since his nephew's death, with his brothers Kim and Mike warning former fiance Michelle Williams and her father Larry to not trust him.
Just let him rest in peace!

EXACTLY, just let him rest in peace. We don't need an effing bio of him, especially if it's just full of lies and slander. In my opinion it's TOOOO early to be peddling this shit out and his family sounds like a bunch of creeps. I think in time Michelle should come out with something honest and respectful. In the meantime, cherish his memory and leave him the fuck alone!

I really wish they ould let him rest in peace. He was an amazing actor, and it was such a lose to the acting world, people just need to let this tragedy be a tragedy and stop trying to make money off such a sad loss
Money is money.. no matter how "accurate" the information is. Technically, it is fucking bullshit that people will attach his name to anything just to make a few bucks, but it sure as fuck isn't the first time and sure as fuck won't be the last. Sad part is, I can almost guarantee you if he was still alive, no one would be paying half as much attention to ANYTHING he was attached too.. It's amazing sometimes how it takes someone's death for anyone to pay attention…

Ugh, this just disgusts me. People just writing books about him just to be in it for the money because he's so big right now is so WRONG. I miss him so much and this just hurts. I'm honestly not touching a book that's a biography about him. I'll remember him through his amazing and beautiful films - not through some false and inaccurate book.

Look at the flip side of this, there are no books about Brad Renfro who died two months before Heath Ledger and who ALSO left a young child in this world who would not know his father.
That must hurt too. People do not care about Brad Renfro's death because Heath Ledger was the bigger star!

Perez, for all your shortcomings, this is one of the reasons I like you. Thanks for putting this out here. I'm glad the word is out on this woman. How in the world can someone have the nerve to "write" a book and say they are the authority on someone else's life, and they didn't even know him, and didn't talk to anyone who was a part of his life. She is doing this for money. I hope more people find out what a fraud and a liar she is, and how inaccurate this information is, and they DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! I hate it that people will get rich off the dead. I adored Heath. I have a cousin with bi-polar disorder. Heath definitely did not have that. He might have suffered from depression from time to time, but I don't see him doing the "manic" part at all. I bet the people from the insurance agency who don't want to pay up, are pushing for this to discredit Heath. R.I.P Heath. As my avatar shows, I will always be a loyal fan!

Heath Ledger was the bigger star, his films had large budgets and larger profit margins, he was a bankable star- all very sexy.
Poor Brad Renfro who died a few weeks before Health Ledger did not enjoy the level of success Heath ledger did. So people do not care about Brad Renfro or his death.
The Academy Award death tribute included Heath Ledger but left out Brad Renfro.
Even in death, life is unfair!

I hate books like this. It's always so interesting how they just "happen" to come out after the celeb (or Princess, as in the case of both Princess Grace of Monaco [she was libeled from here ’til next Sunday] and Princess Diana) is too DEAD to defend his or herself.

I fervently believe that Heath was just trying to get some sleep that night. All reports say that he had struggled with insomnia. When I was in college, my sleep got so messed up, I couldn't sleep AT ALL - i'd get so desperate that i'd take anything from a medicine cabinet labeled "may cause drowsiness". Luckily I found a doctor who worked with me to fix the problem.
I look at Heath, my heart breaks, and realize how easily that could have been me - and i'm about the squarest girl you'll ever meet. Doctors wrote those 'scripts for him because they have been doing that in H'wood since the years of silent films. It's an epidemic, and he was a sad casualty. No one said he's a Martyr. He just didn't survive this life.

I am sooooooo sick of distant family members thinking they know anything about their distant relatives - other than what they have seen on the television or big screen - fame and death is no reason for a person to think they can contribute to a book after the fact. People like this make me sick.
And more so, people who think they can write a book from not knowing anything real, or even possibly the actual person they are writing about - they are pathetic - if you want to make money and be known for something, do something real!
