We didn't LOVE it, but it was more than "so so" and just a "like."
The chick that plays Bella was super annoying but Robert Pattinson definitely lives up to the hype. He carries the film - in more ways than one.
We wish the movie was a bit longer, though. But they probably left us wanting more on purpose.

so i'm wondering how the gays feel about giving their money to a movie who's author is a mormon and gives loads of that money to the church that was behind prop#8???
Can someone that likes the books, explain why? I'm not trying to be mean, I've just never heard anyone give a coherent answer with real reasons. When I read it I thought it was very poorly written, and the story was ridiculous. Does it get better in later books?
it was so disappointing
I went into the movie with the attitude that I wasn't going to like it. Well, I was pleasantly surprised and LOVED it. Yes, there were many things I would change and a few complaints I have, but overall, I'm content.
It was also surprisingly comedic.

I loved it too. I do think it should have been longer, there were many key points that weren't made. Like why was Jasper in pain, why did Edward just off of Bell while they were kissing…. I already know this, but to someone who doesn't I can see why they would be like WTF? And they just announced that they are going ahead with the sequels.!!!

Read all the books, twice. Terrible, terrible movie. They stuck to the plot nicely, but WHY WERE ALL THE CULLENS SO FUCKING HIDEOUS?! Carlisle looked like that clown puppet thing from the Saw movies and the scene when they're burning James looked like a clip from Without a Trace. Kristen Stewart was the only actor that portrayed her character correctly. Rob Pattison may be pretty, but the whole over-emoting on screen was laughable. I laughed more in this movie than any other COMEDY I've seen this year.

the humans where good in hte movie well Kristen Stewart not so much but the rest of htem where ok but there where only 2 really good people playing vampires in the movies and they are Jackson Rathbone(jasper) and Kellan Lutz(emmet)

I thought the movie was ok. I read all of the books and I went to see the movie alone, and with an open mind..after reading all of the mixes reviews. I know that there wasn't alot of money thrown at this movie. I think that's the saddest part because everyone knew what a hit it was going to be.
I thought the makeup was awful first of all. I was also really upset that they took out so many crucial scenes. I know they had to make it easier to understand for the people that have not read the books by my god they really took out alot. Edward never even said the words "I love you" to Bella once, like he does in the book. The boy that played Jacob was AWFUL. And that scene where Jacob and Bella meet for the first time (Billy and Charlie playing the the backround) was Super SUPER SUPER cheesy, I was embarrassed to look.. not to mention that's totally NOT how they meet in the book. I was looking forward to the scene on the beach where he tells the story of "the cold ones" around the camp fire. And the part where Edward told Bella "not to fall into the ocean" GONE totally gone. Yep this movie sucked now that I'm thinking about it. If you love the books don't see it. They robbed us all. Except for the fact that Robert Pattinson is gorgeous.
actually i liked the movie much more than i liked the book. and i liked the book a lot! the story just seemed better written for the movie script. and kristen stewart was great as bella! she wasn't supposed to have any kind of emotion, thats the kind of character she is.
I think all the actors did a great job. The girl who plays Alice was just as I pictured her to look like. Kristen (bella) wasn't my pick but I felt she played Bella well. And as for Edward… Robert was dead on perfection. The sparkling was amazing, he's amazing. sigh.
Perez, I couldn't agree more. Kristen Stewart is annoying, everything about her from her man voice to over all bad acting. But Rob Pattinson was amazing. I agree I wish it was longer, and didn't love it. But defiantly liked it! :]

I saw Twilight on Thursday night with my Mom. The theater was filled with mostly younger people (I'm 26) and half of them laughed at EVERYTHING which was really annoying and ruined some scenes. I agree mostly with Perez-I didn't love it but I really, really liked it. I'm going to see it again just to make sure
I thought Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart made the perfect Edward and Bella. I loved the cast choices for everyone as well. I think Kristen is a good actress (particularly in Speak) and yes, Bella is kind of annoying. I think that the cast of relatively unknowns was a good choice. Also, I'm sure that the next one will have a much bigger budget. The music was a little off. I didn't like most of it except for Muse, Robert, and Iron and Wine. The special effects weren't great, but I'm sure they'll improve. Overall, I really enjoyed Twilight, I thought there was chemistry and romance, and people who hate it…well…why did you see it in the first place?
I just got an email from summit entertainment and they are offically making new moon and movie too!! Take that all you twilight haters!!

gah…I wish it was longer too…it was an awesome movie in general…but if you compare the movie to the book…it was a terrible interpretation of the book…the movie was too brief…and they changed practically everything…and my two favorite quotes weren't in there!…and they should have been…but I wish it was 4 hours…that way they wouldn't have to have skipped so so much.

I think the movie was so so the book portrayed alot better of a picture… plus robert was so weird kind of a bad actor in my opinion he could of done better… meyer's book is way better hopefully they will get their act together for the next one

Im sure shes a fine actress in other stuff but for this role shes terrible!! I hope they replace her in the seq.s because she will not make it in Breaking Dawn. They should dump her now!
Hope you read the book first…and the "chick that played Bella" has had other movie experience…if you have ever read any other books (Speak) and seen the movie based on them, you would know this.
I liked it, but the changes from the book are distracting for fans. I'll have to see it again now that I know what to expect. It was great seeing the story brought to life. Some of the minor characters were a bit different, too. The main story stayed the same, though, and it was well done considering their low budget. What was with Jasper, though? Is it me or did they make him WAY more weird than in the books?!
The movie was amazing all the characters were spot on The whole Cullen family were perfect especially the cafeteria scene! The B-ball scene and fight scene were amazing and all my Ewaded and Bella amoments were pure luv im gonna see it again does it live up to the books somewhat but i could't ask for more! plus it was so sad that me and my friends were quoting the words from the book
i agree that robert pattinson was fantasticcc. i thought the cullens filled the parts perfectly! i didn't like the way catherine hardwicke did the editing- like the slow-motion parts of the camera. it made edward's jumping onto trees look fake. of course i'm gonna nit-pick because i really love the book haha. but i'm excited for the sequel (i'm sure they'll be one).

I find it funny that a lot of ppl said i saw it the first time hated it saw it again and it got better how the fuck is this possible? It may have been low budget (there clothes looking like kmart blue light special to me) but that's not a good enough excuse… there are a lot of great low budget movies,like Napoleon Dynamite a movie no one expected to be huge but was. Have you ever been so embarrassed for someone on tv/movie that you had to look away that's what this movie did for me.

FIRST OF ALL, Bella in the book was suppose to be annoying. So KRISTEN STEWART, not the chick in the movie made it that way..They're being directed by the director to act a certain way. Too bad Kristen stewart didnt even have to audition because Emile Hirsh or whatever that guy is told the producer/director that she did an amazing job @ into the wild.
as for the movie. It was GOOD. The story line is just getting started and it's gonna be more intense as it goes on. You people are so impatient. jeez. Be logical, give them a chance and if they fuck up the 2nd one. that's when you bitches need to bitch.

i thought it sucked. i hated it. the last 30 minutes were okay. bella sucked. the script was too corny and all mushed together. forks or bella's house wasnt how it should have been. only charlie, carlisle, esme, and alice were portrayed well. jasper srsly looked like he had sumthing up his but. edward wasnt smooth and suave like hes supposed to be. the last 30 minutes was okay because i forgot about all the crappy stuff. i rlly hope they hire some new writers and get a better script for the next movie because this one was disappointing.

I think we all knew that nothing would come close to the books, but personally I am beyond disappointed. I must say that Rob P. WAS Edward Cullen- he made the movie for me. Bella was annoying, very depressing and nothing like the Bella in the book. They rushed the romance in the movie way too much, and the suspense just wasn't there at all. I brought my (new!!) husband with me so he could see why I love the books so much, and now he just will never get it- and neither will anybody else. The whole thing just moved from scene to scene with no ease at all and I felt it was very rushed and didn't make people feel what they were feeling. Like I said, I knew it wouldn't be perfect but they could have done it WAY BETTER… Just me though :-/ Love you Perez!!
ewww robert pattison sucked!!!!! the girl that played bella actually did way better way than i expected. bellas just annoying in general, even in the book, so it wasnt kristen stewarts fault. im sorry to all the pattison fans, but he was awful. every time he talked he sounded retarded like he couldnt talk right, and he always looked like he was about to cry. and he doesnt even look like edward. in the book he was seriously compared to a greek god like 10 million times with this amazing body, and then robert is this super skinny twig. ew, no. sorry, i dont think he lived up to all the hype at all : P

I saw it too and Bella was as cold as the future vampire she'll become, another actress would have brought more energy! people are so desperate after a Buffy ANgel Spike something! the whole dram is in the trailers, my friends and I were disappointed but my little cousins were amazed (they are 8 and 11) !!!!

Ok, I'm in love w/ the Twilight Series and Rob Pattinson.. but I can also be honest and say this movie didn't do any of them justice. It wasn't horrible.. just not what I had expected. I can feel that it was probably due to the low budget and shitty casting of Kristen Stewart as Bella. This girl isn't as good of an actress as everyone claims…. if it weren't for Rob.. this movie would have no redeaming qualities.

Pretty sure Kristen Stewart MADE THE MOVIE WORTH WATCHING. She was fantastic, as were the men who played Bella's father and Jacob's father. The rest of the cast were boring and underdeveloped. Robert is ugly as fuck too. He should never have been cast as Edward, he can't act, not even a little bit!!!!

OMG, so yeah, I was worried that the movie was gonna suck because of all the reviws I've read, but I was waaay surprised. It was GOOD. I really liked it and was not as upset as I had originally been at the character choices. I love Robert Pattinson in this movie. He is suuch a hottie. So yeah, ignore the reviews and see it for yourself! It's good. LOVE YOU ROBERT!!!!!!!

The movie theatre was packed and devoid of any teeny boppers–mostly adults. RPatt is the absolutely sexiness there is no denying that but I hope he gets acting lessons (a la Daniel Radcliffe) before the next movie. Some of the scenes were so cringeworthy that most of the audience laughed including me and my sister. The music was absolutely awful. I would go see the next ones but like the Harry Potter franchise I think the movie would benefit from a bigger budget, new directing and new producers.

The plot was choppy and anyone who hasn't read the books was totally unconvinced and confused. Bad director, for sure. The baseball scene was the only okay part but it ended too quick. So many other parts that were meant to be serious were incredibly cheesy and had most of the audience laughing–ie, "tortured" lab scene, edward sucking bella's arm, the hospital scene, the "sparkling" scene (wtf??),them lying in the meadow, alice and her "blood lust" at bella's side…omg the list is unending.
But the worst, worst thing of all….GAHHHHHH. Kristen Stewart as Bella was atrocious!!! Seriously!!! WTF!??? Emotional range of a fucking ROCK. I swear, we all felt like throwing popcorn at her the whole fucking time!! Pathetic and agonizing to watch. Rob was okay but not amazing. His "american" accent made me cringe at parts. Some other actors were great though, like the guy playing Emmett (fantastic!), Charlie (the only real intended comic relief that worked), Rosalie (though not as hot as she should have been), Carlisle (if you can get past the terrible makeup job the acting was fine), James (evil+hot, yumm), and the whole "friends" gang-jessica, mike, etc. were great as well. I would say they all saved the movie, but with Kristen Stewart and her zombie Bella, I think that ship sunk before it had a chance!!
I think kristen, robert, and the rest of the cast did a good job. Everyone in my theater seemed to enjoy it.

There was a group of teenage girls in there and they screamed a few times over R-Patz. I love the scene with him in the sunglasses. He looked SO hot there. I was surprised that there were people in their 50's and 60's in there and they weren't there with kids! I went in with an open and I told my daughter, they had a low budget and they are time constrained compared to the book. We both really liked it. I'm hoping that when the DVD comes out there are a lot of extras on it.

The movie definitely got better as it went on but the acting and dialogue were absolutely terrible. I kept looking at my boyfriend like "are you serious? did they really just say that?" Kristin was SO awkward. I hated how she couldnt answer simple questions like "do you like the rain" without sputtering or coming up with a complicated answer.
and everyone in the theater screamed as soon as Robert came on screen for the first time. Really everyone who obsesses over this character needs to get a first kiss because ITS NOT REAL. I don't understand, like yea, its romantic and sweet BUT ITS NOT REAL. stop "awww!"-ing every time he says something sweet and get a decent boyfriend. ok so im a huge twilight fan but the movie was horrible it was just blahhh and boring….it was too short and idk it needs a new director and more money for the sequel. The only thing i really liked was emmett jaspar and alice. I thought they all did great. Carlise and esme were good too but carl. had way to much powder on it looked so bad. The scenes were choppy, and wouldn't have made sense to people who haven't read the book. The movie wasn't great, but Kristen's acting just killed it. To all those who are saying that Bella's character is supposed to be annoying, it's not her personality that's annoying, it is Kristen's acting skills (or lack thereof)!! It was agonizing to watch. Every line was the same…it starts with her eyes blinking wildly, some sputtering, then some twitching, she says her line with no emotion, then a gasp at the end. It was so bad that I was embarassed to be a Twilight fan. Hopefully they recast Bella for the next film, or invest in some acting classes for Kristen.
