So, We Saw Twilight Last Night…
Filed under: Twilight > Robert PattinsonAnd?
We really liked it!
We didn't LOVE it, but it was more than "so so" and just a "like."
The chick that plays Bella was super annoying but Robert Pattinson definitely lives up to the hype. He carries the film - in more ways than one.
We wish the movie was a bit longer, though. But they probably left us wanting more on purpose.
Sequels!

I won't mind the sequel as long as Kristen Stewart takes some acting lessons and they do more character development with the Cullens. The Cullen family is pretty much the my favorite part of the book. Like we don't even know that Jasper has "abilities" yet lol or various other things. I wanted to see much more Emmett. But I guess that'll have to wait till Eclipse cause the Cullens aren't in New Moon much.
But anyway, I hate how to show emotion…Kristen shakes her head violently instead of crying. It looks awful. And she needs to take some interview/charisma lessons, I actually FEEL awkward watching her talk.
i had a feeling shed be annoying, we have to wait until december of twilight in the uk
Awww, Perez!! I love you!!!
I'm so glad you liked it!!!
Mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah! I'd make out with you, if I thought you'd be into it!!!!
Robert: Wonderful, but should be careful with his accent and his gait. Glad about the placement of his song Never Think.
Kristen: Tried too much. She did not do the perfect job as Bella, and she somewhat failed to bring to life the most impossible character to cast. I will admit to wishing that they never casted her in the first place but it is what it is. Kristen is amazingly annoying in all of her movies though. Zathura and Into The Wild only proves that and what lacking she has in acting skills. It's not about memorizing lines.
Taylor: Jailbait- at least for me. He is incredibly cheesy and fit Jacob perfectly! He's all yours!
Finally: I felt like this movie was more of a drug trip than experiencing the bloodlust and forbidden romance. Edward gave but Bella never reciprocated. Too quick to absorb, and the editing, camera work, and scores could have been better. I give this movie a "B".
haha I loved it it was so funny. I dont get why though.
Kristin Stewart surprised me she was good in the movie.
I love Jasper!
Did you guys read the book you wouldnt really understand it if you didn't!
I WAS MORE THAN AMAZED BY TWILIGHT.I WAS SPEECHLESS,IT WAS UNBELIEVABLLE.AND ROBERT PATTINSON IS REDICULOUSLY DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.WHO AGREES WITH ME?
I saw it last night and I actually quite liked it. I also felt that it could have been longer because there were a lot of important details and events that were cut out.
I also found Kristen Stewart a little lacking; I just don't find her warm or likeable. She had too much of a sour attitude for Bell and her delivery flat. That being said, I didn't hate her. She definitely looks like Bella I think.
I thought that Emmett was played perfectly as was Jasper (my friend commented that Jasper's "expression" reminded him of Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, lol). I thought Alice seemed really cute and I think Ashley Greene will be great in the other movies.
I was surprised at how funny the movie was; our theater got about 8 good laughs (Edward looking like he wanted to throw up in Biology, Mike and Eric in general, Billy trying to be cool, Charlie prepping his gun before he meets Edward for the first time…). But my friends and I found the music to be a bit too loud in the way that it competed with the dialogue; it should have been more of background music. And sometimes the music playing didn't suit the scene.
I agree that the "sparkling" was a little lacking, but we all knew the effects wouldn't be great given the small budget. But the budget for the next movies will be much better and I think the movies will be too:)!
I can't wait for this movie, I know I'll love it
Perez, did you even read the book? Just wondering.
I loved the movie. Rob was amazing. It was a lil different from the book, but in a good way.
I must disagree!
I loved Kristen Stewart in Twilight. I thought that she was amazing.
She and Rob were perfect together. I loved her in Speak and The Messengers also, she is just so talented.
i agree. they left out alot of parts that i would have liked to see but im still going to see it again. Its a great story and i cant wait for new moon to come out. New moon is a much better length for a movie!
I enjoyed the movie. The book was better, but the movie is still good. I wish the movie was a bit longer too, and had a few extra details added in. (Bella and Alice's friendship, mainly!!)
th movie was good but didn't do the book justice. really cheesy special effects. i think kristen stewart was good as bella, and at the beginning of the film rob sucked. i like him, but he was soooo awkward in the beginning. there is all this hype over him cause hes hot but the whole rest of the cast was good too. ashley greene as alice cullen was AMAZING
how was kristen annoying? she played Bella very accurately. Although it may be a bit easy to act out a shy, non-outgoing, accident-prone girl, i feel that Kristen has that perfect stamina to act out Bella, and i can't come up with any other girl who would perfectly play Bella. One thing i didn't get, though, was how come her one eyebrow was raised throughout the whole movie?
Re: Listen To Mayday Parade – holy crap i found someone who agrees with me! i thought the baseball scene was the best too!
Hopefully the sequels will be a little bit longer and not leave out so much. But you all have to remember that their was a budget for the movie…a low budget and the longer the movie, the more money it would've cost. Since it did do well in the numbers this weekend, they will have a bigger budget the next time around and I'm sure it will be amazing!
Keep the faith my fellow Twilighters!
If you like a monotone guy who can only stare into the camera with come hither eyes, then this movie is for you
the movie was a very very big disappointment, the cut every cute part out of the movie. I'm sad!!!
Being a big fan of the series, I have been waiting for months for this movie to come out. I was going in there with high expectations just to see what they have accomplished and how they interpreted the story.
Eye candy was definately there. Stewart did a good job as Bella. And the setting was great. My only problem was that it was rushed. I feel as if those that didn't read the books and fall in love with them, wouldn't be into the movie to much. On MTV.ca I recently read the reviews for the movie, and one of reviews stated how it was rushed, and more of a supernatural love story. Which in a sense it is, but the movie made the story seem very normal and slightly predictable. In the book there was so much anticipation for that passionate kiss between them.
The movie was pretty much.. she sees him.. he smells her.. they fall in love… he creeps her in the middle of the night while she sleeps.. and then twisted stuff happens.
RUSHED RUSHED RUSHED.
Good job nonetheless.
r.patz is still F-I-N-E.
Re: Miryyyy – I completely agree with the character development with the cullens. The books had lots of involvement and more dialogue. Like I said everything felt rushed.
But to be realistic, nothing is ever going to beat a book. The things your imagination can do, cameras can't.
So props to the cast.
hello dummies..i think it's hilarious when people knock the narrating and say it's cheesy..IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE BOOK. any idiot who has read the book knew that from the first words she spoke. that was my favorite part..i loved how it came straight from the book. people who don't like the movie are STUPID. i loved that it was low budget, b/c it made it better and made them have to work harder. suckas.
FIRST of all, the move was OK. Bella was amazing and RObert was NOTHING like Edward's angelic, beautiful description in the book-he was JUST OK. He gave weird looks and was over the top. Don't get me wrong, I'm just as obsessed with the books as everyone else and when I heard they were making a movie, I FREAKED. BUT I think it could have been portrayed a bit better, they just wanted to get the points into the movie and it ran together! BUT I can't wait for New Moon–I'm a die hard allllll the way. I LOVE BELLA, she was perfect! (Robert is just OK—no real Edward Cullen) But does anyone so beautiful exist anyway?
oh. em. gee. IT WAS AMAZING. Thought I wish it was longer, I actually thought both Kristen and Edward did a great job!
PS. did anyone else notice that there were parts int he trailers that weren't in the movie????
Ok seriously
did you guys even read the books?
everyone that I know is not impressed with Rob
he played Edward SO wrong.
at least Kristen played her character right
even the people that weren't impressed that she got the role were impressed with her.
maybe read the books and learn the characters before you start praising one and bashing another
Re: trish the dish –
I couldn't agree w/ Trish the Dish more! Stephanie Meyer wrote some amazing books and it burns my ass that she let shit like that be viewed. In my opinion she sold out! Just because you stick some pretty faces in a movie doesn't mean it's a given that it'll be good. Didn't anyone notice that none of them could act. If they were going for the twitchy constipated look then hell it was phenomenal. I've seen better performances from annoying reality personalities! The only reason that Twilight made so much $ it's opening weekend was because of hormone enraged teenie boppers. I didn't expect Oscar worthy performances but come the fuck on!
whoa, you didn't like kristen?? lol Why not?
oh yeah..def any movie w/ rob is worth seeing.
it sucked. Rob was great but needs a little more acting class and the chick who played bella must have blone someone in order to get that part… cause she sucked esspecially during the hospital secne they need a new bella. I was disappointed
Oh my gosh yes I agree! Loved it too. Bella SUCKS but I love love love robert and he can act! holy schmoly!!
i also think that the movie was more okay than great !just an example the pre meadow scene e: now ask me the most improtatn question , what do we eat. b: you wont hurt me …. E. you have to see how i look like in the sun .. wheres the sense oof this dialoge ???
and yes this bella actress was just anoying ! rob IS the movie !! the only reason i´ll watch this movie on theatres over an over again ! i mean just the fact that they fell in love after 5 times talking to each other ??
aaa soso i just saw it Rob was sexy as can b the girl not the greatest actress but i mean the movie was OK Rob made it seem so much better staring at his sexyness
yo apparently kristen stewert was caught smoking a bong…and she is a closeted smoker
idk if its true but thats what i heard! :]
AAAAAWWWWEEEESSSOOOMMEEE!! ive seen it twice.. so good it inspired me to read all the books in one weekend!!
BUT idk why dont u like kristin stuart.. i think thats her name.. shes not tooo bad!
i thought you would have loved it perez especially since robert pattinson was so amazingly hot in it. i guess kristen stewart ruined it for you like she ruined it for me.
Re: Melley – I don't think that the director portrayed Bella well at all. Kristen, sure good actress, but in the book she is more depressing, crying all the time, whining and moping around…in the movie they almost made her character too "bad ass."
