Besides the sound being off throughout the show, i think she MUST have been sick, the first song seemed fixed so that she could carry the notes. She is still awesome though!

She's never quite been able to to pull it off live. She's a great studio musician and even her closest inner circle admits touring is difficult for her. She doesn't have the physical stamina to really sing balls out, song after song. Perhaps if she was one of those "singers" that does little more than whine and moan while performing a dance number (Britney, Janet), she'd be able to tour more.
I wish she would start dressing and looking her age…for the past 4 years she's looked like a granny. She needs to dye her hair to a natural colored blonde, throw away all of her red lipstick and shop at Juicy or Ella Moss while she's still young enough to do so.
I used to love her, but she's stupidly pre-aging herself and it's not attractive at all.
I'm pretty sure she was sick. It tends to be more difficult to hit the higher octave notes from low notes (like she normally does) when you have a cold or flu. So, I'm sure she was just trying to not screw it up by pushing her voice where it shouldn't be going. Besides that I think she did pretty well!

I agree with your obs about the sound. It sucked. As for Christina, she is awesome but……she wasn't as loose vocally or as precise in her dance moves. She looked at times like Brit when she was trying to make her big comeback. Didn't seem to have the moves. Christina wasn't nearly as energetic as I've seen her before. But you gotta love the girl, she rocks!

I really hated the medley. She is so much better than that! Plus the dancing was just awkward for some reason. Why didn't she just do like 1 older song and one of her new songs–did she have to try and remind everyone about her greatest hits or something? It made no sense.

She sounded like she had vocal fatigue and also there was something wrong with the sound system. The backing tracks were louder than her. She was probably fighting to be heard. She'll be fine. Vocal fatigue happens. Me: professional opera singer
Also, the medley was crap. Too much switching of vocal styles is tiring for anyone.

I watch this, and all i see is a blend of the great MADONNA and Lady GaGa. How embarrassing. So many styles to choose from, why copy something thats happening currently with other artists? I have always thought of her as a sort of "johnny come lately". Riding the coat tails of other pop stars. Sad, she has a wonderful voice, but no originality.

I'm a big fan of hers, but i have to agree, that was not good! She souded completely like a man (she let out her inner drag) and the songs could be arranged in a much better order, it was so messy! Come on Baby Jane, proove you are a girl.. We know you can do better!
Years of oversinging songs have probably killed her voice. I hate to sound like Randy Jackson, but that is one thing I don't like about Christina is she always, always, has to show off her pipes. Don't get me wrong, I think she is very talented. Her first hit Genie is probably one of her best songs and it was not oversung. Her last album sucked because I think she still wants to prove that she can sing. Christina, you can sing, just tone it down. Listen to some old Roberta Flack for your inspiration.

And Lady Gaga did not come up with electro-pop, has anyone heard of BELANOVA, they have been around waaaayyy longer than Gaga, and in my opinion Lady Gaga stole the image from Denisse the lead singer of Belanova, look her up, same style, but Denisse is brunette.

In addition to her singing being weird in some respects, I also noticed that her wardrobe for her performance didn't seem like something she would usually wear, so I wonder what's up…
Maybe it has something to do with her being a mother now- maybe she's significantly more focused on her baby boy and her husband (aka- family) to care as much or to give out as much when it comes to her performance yesterday.
