The little Scientology princess was out with her mom in Manhattan yesterday and she was probably crying because she's cold.

it's probably because her parents are whoring out the "cute/adorable/precious" dresses she's always wearting.

It was actually pretty mild in Manhattan yesterday. She should still be wearing a little jacket at least though.
I don't get it with today's parenting skills, everyone wants to be their child's friend and ask them nicely to do something like put a coat on. I'm 27 and when we were growing up my mother said something we did it or it was or ass on the line. People don't be scared to parent!! You don't even have to spank your kid, all you have to do is give them a firm voice, if they take the coat off, put it back on! keep doing this and don't give up, they always try to wear you down, but keep putting the coat on! If they are still acting bratty take away their toys and other privileges they enjoy. You be the boss not the kid!
Okay, I checked The Weather Channel. The high in New York, NY yesterday was 50. That may be mild up north (I'm sure that it is), but that is way too cool for a child to be without a coat (or, at the least, long sleeves). Seriously, I wore a jacket yesterday in Central Mississippi (as did my 7 year old; not because he wanted to, because I told him HE HAD TO).

I also read that article in one of the grocery-store mags. I had never noticed it before, but is is TRUE!! In every picture, Tom or Katie has on a sweater or coat, while Suri is in short sleeves!

Look I am a mom with a head strong child who went through the whole temper tantrum phase. It lasted all of a week because I simply didn't take him anywhere unless it was 100% necessary that we go out. Seeing as how I seriously doubt hey have any pressing commitments that would involve their daughter, they should leave her at home if she refuses to dress warmly. Being with a nanny is bette than the risk of pneumonia.

It really pisses me off when mums are being attacked for things that are just NOT TRUE. Google "OK!'s Ultimate Katie Holmes Gallery", you'll see a picture of Katie Holmes and her daughter the exact same day with the exact same clothes, only with Surie is also wearing a WHITE COAT and even has sunglasses on. You'll also see on that picture that Katie is wearing a knitted CARDIGAN, not a coat. And if you click to see other pix of the two of them, you'll see that the kid is wearing a coat on EVERY SINGLE PICTURE on which she's on.
Maybe Surie took her coat off or something. Maybe it fell down when the paps started chasing them like someone wrote earlier, I don't know I wasn't there. But Katie did bring a coat for her kid and put it on her at some point, so stop the whole "she won't put a coat on her child let's call social service" bullshit.

It was actually warm yesterday in NYC. And I second whomever said that it's hard to get a jacket on a bratty kid who won't listen. She probably was throwing a fit (as shown above in the picture). I'm guessing she's a totally spoiled little brat who always gets her way. She's gonna be a real big bitch when she gets older I bet, if this picture (and recent pictures of her) are any indication. don't rule the roost by any means, but they certainly have learned common sense by life experiences. You have to let kids make mistakes and learn from them.

Yes I'm serious. We're only seeing a couple of frames of the kid without a jacket. Her body guard is probably holding a coat for her for when she gets cold. Getting cold does not cause you to get sick. Trust me, I am from Duluth, MN. The kid will live. If I felt it was a fight worth fighting, like not eating properly, or playing video games, or watching crap on TV, there would be no room for discussion with my children. I am one of the strictest parents I know. As a matter of fact, if my children do not eat what I prepare for dinner, they don't eat. Does that make me a horrible parent? No, they will now eat almost every vegtable on the planet because they learned from experience, that if they don't eat, they will be hungry. Suri will learn that if she doesn't wear a coat, she will get cold (not die).

Ok, maybe Suri didn't want to wear a coat. But her mother souldn't allowed her not to wear! She is just 2 or 3 or something like that! She will learn out of it, but in this case it would be better not to let her to do what she wants.

Thank you!! I'll take that as a compliment. Yes I am one of THOSE parents and very proud to say so. Just like my parents were. I paid my way through college ( masters in Chem E ) and a very confident, independent individual. I make my own decisions and I am grateful to my parents for the way they raised me. I am not bashing anyone for their parenting methods. Just saying that we choose to teach our kids to think for themselves and try to make good decisions based on past experiences.

I'm with the other mums,I have 3 kids,and if its cold they rug up,no arguments or I tell them we'll go home, no t.v, anything that would convince them that you don't mess with mummy,and if that fails I get my partner to tell them because he's scarier with the booming voice (I'm a bit of a softie). Never the less,they end up wearing the damn things. Your the adult here! Normally I don't comment on other peoples parenting because I know how much it pisses me off when you get those glares in supermarkets when your kids are chucking tanties,but you do have to keep them warm!

i am sick of people talking about how hard it is to put a coat on an unwilling child that age. my best friend has a two year old and he has a huge tantrum every time she tries to put a coat on him but she still gets it on him. let them throw their tantrum, but get the damn coat on them. they'll eventually get over it. taking a child that young out into such cold weather without proper attire is a great way to make that child get sick.

Wow you've got to be shitting me! She's is what, 2 1/2?? She can choose to not wear a coat all she wants, but she's a CHILD. This is what's wrong with kids today…….PARENTS. I have a 5 year old and a 13 month old. The 5 year old would wear summer clothes in the winter because that's what she chooses but since I am her mother, am I going to let her do what she wants?!
