Was anybody else as underwhelmed by this as us????
Everyone wants BritBrit to do succeed and she's trying, but….she's not quite there.
It seems like her "spark" is gone. That confidence. That special ability Britney had to "sell it" like none of her other contemporaries.
Her performance of Circus seemed lethargic. Lacking confidence. And with way too much walking! She didn't even walk well!
Hopefully she will get "it" back over time.
Do U think she can????

definately the best of the recent performances, she still needs a little more practise, but i thought she was good! go brit!
i think she is just trying so hard to not look unstable/crazy so it comes off really safe. i hope she gets her confidence back soon! I LOVE BRITNEY!!!
honestly, it looked like her pants were about to fall off, they were so low. they should have picked something that she could really move in.
and besides, i think she's just really scared of messing up, and she hasn't been doing this for a while. if we give her time, she should get better

OK… HOW MANY PEOPLE ON HERE CAN ACTUALLY SAY THEY SING AND DANCE IN FRONT OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE??? I know there may be some who might have but to the majority who has never been in the spotlight like that and seem to have THE opinion on this matter, go chew on lit christmas lights. SERIOUSLY! I thought she was great! Any performer who can get up and successfully dance and sing in front the world, gets my top props. Coz just singing and dancing in my house, takes my breath away. lol

You are right on Perez - lethargic is a good word for her performance. She does look great but maybe she's just sick of performing, maybe's she worried no matter how good she is someone will always bash her. Time to start a new career Brit.

I like the Circus concept, but her performance did seem lethargic. I really had to laugh at the one spot where she adjusted her mic…like she was really using it….please! haha!
But, in all seriousness, it was tons better than her VMA performance…so, she's getting better.
I like Circus, but I really think she could use a break. You can clearly see her performances have lost their "passion," her dancers were dancing more than her. If she lip syncs, then at least give us something passionate.
If the VMA 2007 performance hadn't happened, everyone would be bitching about how this sucks.

she is off to a great start getting her career and her personal happiness back on track. i am reluctant to call this a "comeback" since she never truly left. she is just finally, truly getting back on her game. her MTV doc was awesome and i think it was a great way for her to get her feelings out there (not that she has to explain herself to us) and her appearance on GMA was just that…an appearance. nobody promised a golden days Britney to appear like a phoenix rising from the ashes. she was there to promote her new album and they threw her a birthday party. her performances were light years ahead of where her performances were just a year or two ago. the dancers, the set, etc…she will be back to herself and on top of the world sooner than we all know. she is a remarkable young lady and i wish her nothing but the best, as should you, Mario! your career is dependent upon celebrities and what they are doing, not a talent. She looks terrific and done a great job of following her handler's instructions and doing what she's told. However, if she's as hopped up on anti-depressant meds as I think she is, her heart's just not in it. She knows everybody knows she's lip synching and I think deep down she feels like a fraud and is just going through the motions.
She also realizes she's now closer to 30 than not and knows she has to work to make a living, but she is also faced with needing to take control of her life once and for all. It's a shame because she is very talented and has a lot to offer besides being a tabloid queen. I really feel for Britney and wish I could have a conversation with her about it.

Christina had a carnival theme not the same thing….besides Britney's Onyx Hotel tour had that whole carnival vibe way before Christina did it. Christina copies other artists all the time…I love her but it's true. Carnivals have lots of different tents with side shows and rides. A circus is one tent with no barkers and one continuous show. No sideshow freaks, no rides, no ringmaster. Not the same at all.

I thought for what she has been through, and the shape she was in less than a year ago, this was AMAZING. Not in the performance kind of way, but in the thrill and excitement of seeing Britney back and happy again. She has come such a long way and I am sure she will come farther.

I just bought my tickets to the Dallas concert! I think she's great!! You try living her life for a few weeks and see how well you cope. Not being able to take a walk or wipe your nose without people taking invasive pics of you. Lay off and find someone else to bash……
Um, so I thought the point of her lipsyncing to all her performances was so that she could do all those really intense dance moves? Not so intense this time. I liked the choreography, but Brit's backup dancers were showing her up. Get back to the rehearsal studio and get your shit together girl!
You all attribute the fewer dance moves, more walking around to her lack off being on stage for a while, but my bet is that the cancer sticks are taking its toll…

What exactly was wrong with this performance? Seriously. There was NOTHING wrong with it. In fact, I liked this performance better then the performances she did of "Womanyzer."
That was 100% better than last year on the VMA's. She looks fantastic and she look coherent during her performance. She was on point compared to last year.
But yes, she does have a bit to go before she is the Britney we remember back in 2000. It takes time though.

I think you are being way to critical. I think that performance was great compared to her previous. Yes, you can see her confidence is shaken because everything thats happened but she's trying and she's making HUGE strides to overcome it. She looks great! Look at that flat ass stomach!
I think after watching the Program on MTV where she opened up…you can def tell the difference in her confidence. When she's in the studio with the people she knows and trusts she has no barriers and is completely herself and isn't self concious or nervous…I think it's been SO long since she's performed and she knows people are going to be judging (which makes her more nervous) so it becomes…apparent. I think she's doing great and the more she performs the better she'll get…just needs to build up her confidence.

I don't think she's "lethargic." I think she just isn't aware/doesn't care about her every move that we're watching. I think she's over the impressing phase… like she doesn't feel like she has to impress us anymore. She knows she's part of pop culture and isn't going away. She's complacent. And really, it probably has to do with her jaded lifestyle and not being able to be free…
She showed the same laziness in her UK performances. The problem is when everyone around keeps telling Britney her performances are looking good and great, Britney believes it so much she doesn't feel she has to try. She HAS to know deep down she's not looking so good and that her "fake singing" act is crap. Sadly, some people commenting here think she's the best act around which is why we have so many fake celebrities and singers. There's no real talent anymore…
They need to keep her in a studio making CD's…and not let her out in public. She obviously can't sing live…since she never does. She looks like she's just trying to get through the dance moves and it is boring…she lost it, it's too bad.
