K-Stew To Play Joan Jett In Rock Biopic

Kristen Stewart - who pouted her way through Twilight - has been tapped to play lesbian icon Joan Jett in the rock biopic The Runaways.
Uh, really?
We guess so, because Jett herself is executive producing the flick about the first commercially successful all-girls band, of which she was a member. The film will recount the band's teenage rise to stardom and their ultimate dissolution.
Music video director Floria Sigismondi penned the screenplay and is helming the project, set to commence production in 2009. Filming will work around Stewart's Twilight schedule, which has 2 sequels lined up.
We're worried that stiff Stewart will make a Womanizer performance out of the legendary Joan Jett.
But we'll see!

Re: MRPAPI – You shouldn't be tossing words like role model around. Kristen is paid to be an actress, not an example impressionable young girls with no parental guidance of their own can look up to. Calling her a slut is childish and completely uncalled for. And don't hold your breath on Summit replacing her. It wouldn't be of your best interest because Rob himself said she's the reason he signed on to do the movie. I'm stoked to see her play Joan Jett. Hopefully, Kristen will get the recognition she deserves.
That sux, Angelina Jolie should play Joan Jett, or another actress with some true backbone and badass in her, but thats Hollywood for ya, whoever is hot at the moment gets these mega parts, its such crap

I hate Kristen Stewart! She fidgets non-stop and she does blink her eyes way too often! And won't any of the adults around her tell her to keep her skanky fingers out of her mouth?! At least while she's on tv… I know that Bella is SUPPOSED to be somewhat 'ordinary' (at least to herself), but did they have to cast someone quite SO ordinary? She has the worst timing, too. When she is supposed to get cut-off, she stops talking before the other actor interrupts her. She is a terrible stutterer when she is supposed to do it, which is stupid because that's all she does during interviews, when her fist isn't shoved in her mouth. I don't understand why she gets any roles. And I've seen some of the other stuff, she has the same irritating quirks in everything she does. I hope Summit saves the last 2 Twilight movies by casting a different Bella. It's embarrassing to watch her blink her way through the scenes and even harder to try to decipher her slurred lines with that life-long-smoker sounding voice. Isn't Dakota Fanning old enough to play a teenager, yet? We deserve better than Kristen.
during an interview kristen was talking about how excited she was about her new role as one of the most iconic women of our time. ..sorry but i wouldn't put joan jet in that category.
anyway i completely agee with solaera! zooey deschanel would have been a WAY better choice
Kirsten Stewart was great in Twilight, thankyou very much.
She did a very good job and I think that she's a talented actress who could handle this kind of character.
