Gossip Girl Spinoff

The latest Gossip Girl, uhm, gossip…is that there may be a spinoff in the works.

And that the show may use an episode as a litmus test to see whether or not to proceed with said spinoff.

A GG spinoff has been running the rumor mill for quite some time now, as the popular book series on which the program is based has its own published spinoff called The It Girl.

Sources say, however, that the companion program would neither be based on The It Girl nor its main character, Taylor Momsen‘ Jenny Humphrey. But, it would focus on one of the nine recurring characters.

The spinoff is in its earliest stages of development, but may be expedited since the CW dropped its Smallville companion, The Graysons.
