First of all, contrary to what many of you are saying, the term person of color is different than saying someone is "colored"- which is in fact offensive. Calling someone a person of color is politically correct and does not just mean black, but can include other ethnic groups like Hispanics, Arabs, etc.
By the way, Perez you really need to stop equating the ban on gay marriage to the black civil rights movment; it's offensive and diminishes that struggle. Gay are not being treated as sub-human as blacks were. What does it have to do with seperate but equal? You have the same rights as every other man to marry a woman, what you are requesting is a "special right" to go above the law (which I personally don't have a problem with). What does bother me is that you are protesting the democratic proscess and basically telling Californians that they don't have the RIGHT to have their vote count on an issue of personal belief.
