I live in Canada and I feel very fortunate to live in a country that has made that a legal right. But that didn't happen overnight; it was a long and grinding process that many political leaders did not support. Some even have wanted to overturn the rule of allowing gay marriage.

I agree, it would be fantastic if Barack Obama allowed gay people to marry. I live in Canada and I feel very fortunate to live in a country that has made that a legal right. But that didn't happen overnight; it was a long and grinding process that many political leaders did not support. Some even have wanted to overturn the rule of allowing gay marriage.
So, my point in saying all of this Perez, is that you can't expect the biggest issue for YOU (and many Americans!) to change right away. I agree, it would be fantastic if Barack Obama allowed gay people to marry. I doubt even Hilary Clinton would have "legalized" gay marriage immediately; do you think you'd honestly be singing a different tune at this point in time if Hilary were president-elect right now?
Yes, Barack's campaign operated on "hope" and "change", but you can't expect these changes to happen so immediately. Like the legalization of gay marriage in Canada, it takes TIME.
Anyways, just know that change from ANY politician (yes, EVEN Hilary Clinton) does NOT happen over night, or right away.
