Travolta Family Lawyer And Police Release More Information About Teen's Death

John Travolta and Kelly Preston 's 16-year old son, Jett, died Friday while on a family vacation in the Bahamas.
Their lawyer just revealed to media the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Jett apparently suffered a seizure at the family vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene.
Jett, who had a history of seizures, was the eldest child of Travolta and Preston. Their daughter, Ella Blue is 8-years old.
So sad.
Update: A police spokeswoman says that Jett hit his head in a bathtub and apparently that triggered the seizure.

this sounds really suspicious to me. let's not forget that this kid suffered from severe autism, yet his scientologist refused to acknowledge it. not to mention that this conveniently happened in the bahamas where laws are much less sophisticated, and much more forgiving. something's not right.
It is so unfortunate to hear of this.
Since the Travoltas are deeply involved in Scientology that never gave Jett the appropriate medicine to control his seizures. There have been other deaths around the world due to Scientologist parents not giving kids the medicine they need.
I really hope that's not the case. What a tragedy.

I think it's a real tragedy for any parent to lose a child. I really can't understand people having a go at the Travoltas, why can't you leave them alone to grieve. It was their child for goodness sake. My heart goes out to them in this difficult time. RIP Jett. x

so sad. there's actually a funeral over here tomorrow for a 15 year old boy who had a seizure in the bathtub and he ended up drowning. jett probably wasn't taking anti-seizure meds. could the travoltas get in trouble for not medicating him? it's widely known seizures can be fatal. one of the big debates over scientology, is whether it's actually a religion or not, their followers are even divided on the issue, so im not sure if you could even argue freedom of religion. then there's the right to refuse medication, but it doesn't stand if you're under 18. im sure the travoltas meant well, but i can see how this could become messy legally.

First of all 1), let me just say that you can take seizure medication and still have a seizure every now and then. It doesn't control everyone's seizures 100% of the time. 2) I doubt Scientology are against seizure medicine, that's just stupid. They are against medicine used in the psychiatry field, which is totally different. 3) You dont' die from the seizure alone, unless it lasted a dangerously long time of 10 minutes. It's the hitting of hte head that probably killed him. That's the dangerous part of being an epileptic, it's the danger that you can fall and hurt yourself, especially in a bathtub. It's why we never leave my brother alone. He should have been watched at all times. So sad.

You failed to mention that Jett had a caretaker, which found him. What is so bizarre to me is that, his caretaker was not looking after him when it happened. Also, John imposing his beliefs on his child to not receive medication. Jetts seizure could have been PREVENTABLE. I know a person who didn't want to take his meds and he had an almost fatal seizure. I send my sympathies to Jett only, a good kid who's parent's completely ignored him and his developmental struggles. The last video I saw of him, I could not forget that look on John's face when he was walking his own son, its like he was annoyed with Jett. It was just really sad to watch.

Scientologists refuse EVERY medication, if you have diabetes, or epilepsy, or even if you are going through Cancer you are not allowed to get treatment. Do some research, it is very sad. Many members of scientology have died because of it.

My son has Aspergers and also epilepsy. At one point in his life, he took 26 capsules of valproic acid a day for his seizures, which were never brought under control.He was being attended to by the very best Dr's at the Cleveland Clinic I finally weaned him off of it, since he was skinny as a rail,couldn't eat,couldn't sleep,and was constantly plagued with seizures.He was miserable! Now he is 24 and thriving. Healthy, productive,happy, funny and, I must say, a good looking devil too! It just goes to show you that medication isn't ALWAYS the answer.

I have a son who is an flk (funny looking kid-and yes it is a medical term) who has epilepsy, walks on his toes, poor balance, learning disabilities and it is one tough job to know what improves their lives. Parents (no matter what religion or culture) struggle about what is the right thing to do. My son has the same number of seizures whether he takes medication or not. Furthermore, the bathroom is the most dangerous room for people having seizures. Water and hard surfaces everywhere. My heart is breaking for the Travolta family, I'm sure they did what they thought was best.

If he had an illness that required medication and he was not being treated, this would not of happened. I also remember reading an article about the way they treated him- he was never taken to awards or any public event( only the daughter was) and he was left in front of the TV with Xbox eating junk food for most of the day and night. Really sad…….

Well, I have my suspicions….not because I'm suspicious by nature, but just because the media release info quickly, and sometimes it's not complete or accurate. I agree that there could be a coverup. Maybe a seizure, maybe an accidental fall, or? Maybe something else. Maybe deliberate…maybe suicide, maybe homicide or manslaughter or whatever. Dunno. Seems sad in any case. It may be exactly what they say, just as Heath Ledger's death was an accident and no on murdered Princess Diana or James Dean. The fact that I have an autistic kid doesn't give my any privilege to weigh in here, but the young man is worm food now, and his protoplasm can return to the earth and be recycled, and that's the way it has been since time began, no matter anyone's beliefs or hopes. I feel bad for the family no matter HOW or why he died, because death is always tinged with sadness. But if he had a difficult life, I feel glad he isn't struggling any more.
This is HORRIBLE news! But I happen to know that John & Kelly have been HIDING this boy from the public for YEARS because Scientology does not recognize autism!!! They were embarrassed of their own child and they refused his medicine! because of that they both make me SICK!

I feel sorry for any parents to lose a child, no matter their choice in religion. I do not know enough of the parents to bedamn their religious choices, or of their religion to bedamn the parents for following it. I have a severely autistic son and I saw the video of Jett in Paris…it was like staring at my own child. The same stimming, he had to be lead by his dad and his "caretaker"…(the one who found him in the bath) is holding his shoulder to guide him. Jett was developmentally disabled. My son too suffers seizures and the fact he was left alone for hours and in the tub is tragic and such neglect. I could never leave my child alone like that. RIP Jett. The biggest tragedy here is that Jett was probably very much like my son and although they seem "in their own world" they do understand what is going on around them. I hope he didn't understand how his parents were hiding his disability in shame due to their beliefs. That breaks my heart…They weren't hiding it to protect him that is for sure.
Mr. Travolta is a great actor & seems like a nice man who did not let fame go to his head. I know how it is to lose a member of the family at a very young age. How very sad that you have to bury your child while you as the parent is still alive. My deepest sympathy to the Travolta family, John, Kelly, & Ella.
