Even Medication Didn't Help Jett In The End

Filed under: John Travolta > R.I.P. > Sad Sad

As we mentioned yesterday, more details about the tragic death of John Travolta's 16-year-old son, Jett, have been released.

According to the Travolta family, Jett's seizures were "frequent and extremely serious." John's attorneys added that "each seizure was like a death," with Jett often losing consciousness and even convulsing.

At times he'd average a seizure once every four days, until he started to take anti-seizure medication.

Travolta's lawyers, claim that Jett had been taking a drug called Depakote, which is a strong anti-seizure medication, denying the rumors that John's Scientology beliefs prevented him from medicating his son.

The attorneys say the drug worked and reduced the number of attacks to once every three weeks. However, they add that after "several years" of Jett taking the medication, it eventually lost its effectiveness and he went back to having a seizure every week.

So after consulting with neurosurgeons they stopped administrating the medication.

Tough times for John and his family.

My nephew is autistic with a seizure disorder. He has many of Jetts characteristics as well. There have been many times where he had some close calls even on medications. His meds were adjusted many times over the years when they started to loose their effectiveness. Once all else failed he had brain surgery. He has been seizure free for 2 years now but still taking low doses of seizure medication! I really doubt a neurosurgeon would discontinue all meds without an alternative on someone having weekly seizures. I smell a mal-practice lawsuit if this were the case. If this is a decision the parents made, then they are going to have to live with the extremely sad outcome. It is very sad indeed.

There are too many unanswered questions in this death and Scientology seems to be at the root of it. It’s a terrible thing to lose a child but even worse if that child wasn’t being medicated or monitored properly

Re: lexcruzer – The parents are the ones responsible for getting proper medical care.
The crazy $cilentology space alien cult doesn't recognize autism.

The parents tried to treat him with Niacin. Yeah. That's right. The stuff you buy over the counter at the drug store. And when taken in large enough doses, it care damage the liver.

Niacin and saunas are what is recommended by the space alien cult of $cientology.

And now their son is DEAD.
**** Hopefully, this will wake up other cult members so that their kids will not DIE UNNECESSARILY.

Depakote is absolutely prescribed for seizures. It's also a mood stabilizer. Do your research.
