Scientologists Defend Travolta and Their Religion

With all the recent press surrounding the unfortunate death of John Travolta's son, Jett, Scientologists are now speaking out about the incident.
And by "Scientologists" we mean Lisa Marie Presley. Tom Cruise has wisely remained mum on the tragedy, at least publicly.
Presley took to her MySpace Celebrity blog and this is what she has to say:
Now Is Not The Time.
I wished I could be writing you under happier circumstances but I cannot because Two of my very good friends, (John and Kelly Travolta ) the sweetest people in the world have just encountered the worst possible tragedy a parent could be forced to endure, the death of their son Jett.
My heart is crying and bleeding for them.
I personally would not have it in me to bury my own child.
I am writing this because I have noticed that for the most part, people and the media have been very sympathetic and respectful, but there are those certain ones that want to use this horrible tragedy as an opportunity to once again, blame and or attack Scientology?
Folks, as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and Scientologist's in the recent past , Now is NOT the time.
I realize that there is a lot of mis information out there about the subject which has caused a lot of stone throwing but we are not still in the dark ages and it is still an Unconstitutional Injustice to partake in and encourage such condemnation.
Among most of the crazy made up garbage that goes around about it , It is not true that Scientologist's "Don't believe in " medical care , medicine or medical Doctors and that may have something to do with this terrible tragedy.
Just like anyone else, If one is sick , they go to the doctor, If a medication will make it better then they take it.
If they don't then they are an idiot and you can't blame their religion.
Whatever medical and or physical condition Jett had , I can tell you first hand that his parents were on a tireless, never ending quest to get and provide him with the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for and need, Medically, physically, emotionally, medicinally and spiritually.
I am not writing this to preach my beliefs, I am here to protect my friends.
To the few of you out there that this may apply to,
Let's not use the tragic death of a child to facilitate your insatiable need to attack and destroy Scientology shall we?
John and Kelly have done nothing but spend their lives and their time helping others, making people happy and making peoples lives better.
Please let this family grieve in peace.

I have just been soaking up the love and the happiness that these two little babies have brought us.

Just a damn minute. How much does anyone of you know about the Travolta's? Just because they only chose to share one medicine he took does not mean its the only one. Do YOU want to go over a list of medication as you are making funeral arrangments for your child? Scientology may be completely bonkers, but I can say, with certainty that ANYTHING that these loving parents could have done to help Jett was done, and yes.. we all have religion of some sort (even aethism) but had God himself shown up and told them not to try it… if there was a chance it would help, they would have. Amazing that everyone here thinks they can pass judgment on a child and family they knew nothing about until he died, and make decisions based on a few posts on TMZ, or Perez or even CNN.
You are all sad, sad people.. and I can ONLY hope that you never are put in the situation where you have to defend trying to save your childs life while you bury him.

Im not a Scientologist, but honestly, if it was a bet or a way to make money, that man put way too much effort and time and care into it, just for a bet. Find out for yourself and get a life.

Re: Jessi H – I think she means to try and stop someone from practicing their religion. There are many groups trying to make scientology illegal to practice and that would be unconstitutional.

I totally agree with her. Now is not the time to be going over the "shoulda, woulda, coulda" scenarios. Now is the time to let these poor people grieve over the loss of their son. As a parent, I can't even begin to imagine how they're coping with this. My thoughts and prayers are with them, regardless of their religious beliefs.
I think now is the perfect time for people to attack and question Scientology. All those celebrities are fucking morons, it is a religion based on a fucking science fiction novel, he created the religion as a bet and these people bought into it.

Scientology is a religion and whoever want to be part of it, it's their own decision and business. We are supposed to have freedom of religion, and I hope whoever wants to be part of this one or my Catholicism do it without having so much anger from other people against them. Please, let's have FREEDOM to choose your own religion, as well as freedom to be gay or straight, black or white, handicapped or not, and function as any other person.

I am in agreement with this lady. Why so many people feel it necessary to put down a religion/belief system they know nothing about is another example of how our society is full of non thinking sheep/cows waiting to be herd into the next bit of sensationalism. I am not a Scientologist but I am a full supporter of organizations that promote goodwill. If you do not believe in Scientology that's okay…but please reckognize that your belief systems based on myths and parables was also deemed ridiculous in its early days.

In Germany and many other countries of the world the Scientology organisation has never been recognized as a Curch or Religion. This status would give them a Tax Exempt like they have in the U.S. and many other benefits. Due to the organisation being more structured like a money making business than a spiritual group their request for this status has been declined. They sued and lost in every level of jurisdiction. Now they are playing the Third Reich card saying they are being prosecuted like other minorities in the twentieth century. This is an outrageous thing to do especially in a country like Germany where many jews, homosexuals and disabled persons were murderd during Holocaust. No wonder the Jewish community has protested against such nonsense. The German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution is observing the activites of the Scientology organisation as they are considered to be a possible threat to our free democratic constistitution. Just saying as some folks don't seem to understand that Scientology is a company or business and not a regligion at all.

Nicholas Cage Husband #3 honeymoon lasted 4 months. Needless to say she’s a messed up woman who led a semi tragic life after her father died.
