Re: StacyMacyPacy – I can understand where you're coming from, but that's not necessarily true. We were put at war with an enemy we can't readily identify, let alone the ability to come onto our turf in combat. Do you know what an Iraqi soldier looks like, lol? We have to remember, we may be one of the most powerful countries in the world but that doesn't make us invincible. Sure, he may have been able to protect our borders but at what cost? NSA spying on Americans? The Patriot Act? It's understable that these measures were considered necessary, but they invade citizens' rights. You should read The Superpower Myth by Nancy Soderberg (former UN Ambassador). Very insightful for this kind of misconception.

My dear—you are the unfortunate stereotype that gives conservatives a bad name…
    1. Yes, Ann is brilliant in her rhetoric and ability to stand her ground against the male pit bulls of political discussion.
    2. Wishing death and hell on anyone from an opposing viewpoint is disgusting. There is a difference between the hate of someone's actions/beliefs and debating them and then utter hatred for them as a human being and wishing them bodily harm. You seem to be a member of the latter.

  3. 303

she's hiding something (no, not that)-too virulent.

Jenny2 could you please answer my questions and no name calling here Im just a confused how she bags single mothers but yet a she a huge Sarah Palin fan and defends her. What about Palins daughter, not married, no high school diploma and no job and for her daddy same thing, a high school drop out, no job and un married and not to mention his mom is a drug dealer! How conservative is that. Lets just bash everyone who is not a conservative republican regardless of their non conservative values which I was until the church hijacked the GOP!

  5. 305

I love her soooooooooooooooo much!!!! She got me to come out of the conservative closet!! 80% of adult inmates have single moms and have been in foster care! When are Americans going to learn how to take care of kids??? Quit doinking eachother!!!

  6. 306

    Re: hogan – #305
I would suggest you read her entire point and not read someone's molded interpretation of it.
She does not "bag" single mother's themselves but the infatuation with single motherhood. She explains that the nuclear family has been forgotten and people are actually PURSUING being a single parent. Women are purposely getting pregnant, artificially inseminated and raising kids on their own. She bashes men for not being responsible and for leaving the families they helped created. She bashes MOST of all t.v. and media for their glamorous portrayal of single motherhood so that teens aspire to it. She cites numerous studies that say kids from single parent households have higher drop out rates, higher teen pregnancy rates and higher arrest/prison rates compared to kids who are nurtured by 2 parent families. She is NOT knocking moms that have no choice but to raise kids by themselves. She is calling out the media industry for not giving people the facts so that they don't PURSUE that. She says the nuclear family should still be what everyone wants—and unfortunately right now–its not…

oh, and as to Ann Coulter and her opinion of Sarah Palin…
Ann said during the campaign that she liked Sarah Palin for being an honest, hard working woman and that she was the ONLY redeeming quality of the McCain/Palin ticket. You missed the part where Ann bashed "republican" McCain and said Hillary was the better choice. It was not till Obama got the democratic nomination that Ann started her getdrunkandvote4mccain movement. Stating, that between the choice of a speech maker who votes "present" and has no real experience and an old asz who many of his decisions have made her vomit–she'll get drunk and take the old asz.
As to Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter is shirking the Republicans who currently want Sarah Palin to focus on a 2012 campagin for president. She wrote an article a few weeks back stating Palin has a great foundation but needs a lot more experience before she would consider her the best candidate for the top spot.
That's just one of the many things I like about her—she doesn't kiss asz to either politcal side..

  9. 309

Re: Jenny2 – if they think that Sarah Palin will ever be "elected" President of the United States, they are as delusional as she appears to be. I do see why you like Coulter and Palin so much, you are all female misogynists.

Jenny I have not read her post or others and never will. I have my own values and morals and dont need any conservative, liberal, or religious groups telling me how to live my life. I have seen every media interview the last few days and she certainly lashs out at them and defends Palin. Regardless of her facts and figures no one should force their nuclear family values or any religious values on anyone. This is coming from a woman who is not a mother and is not married. LOL! Thats just has funny has priests telling woman what to do with their body. Everyone has the right to decide how to live their lives. The nuclear family is just another label that divides people. Ann is nothing more than a great divider. But than again she need to sell books. Shes just another Limbaugh with lipstick! A radical divider! To try to just blame media and press is laughable. Why dont we just blame video games or how about God. And by the way she is a total hypocrite for not pointing out that Sarah Palins daughter is excatly the type of person she is lashing out against. Un-wed, Pregnant high school drop outs and her boyfriend is a high school drop out unemployed with a drug dealer mother. What a conservative church family,LOL She cant even raise a nuclear family yet she can run our county. No thanks! Or wait is that what ANN says is the model nuclear family that the press is trying to destroy.

  11. 311

    Re: hogan – #311
    1. First of all YOU asked me to explain to you her "bashing" of single mothers. I did explain it to you & told you—that you should read the full article. I am sorry that you are only capable of watching quick commercial clips to get your "pseudo news" & are unable to research both sides of something to form your own opinion.
    2. You said "regardless of facts & figures no one should force their nuclear family values on anyone"…umm, that is NOT what is going on here. First facts/figures ARE relevant when they deal with the decline of our society. No one is FORCED to be a nuclear family, BUT shouldn't the truth regarding the dangers/risks to children not raised by one not be hidden?? Ann's main target has been the media;s sensationalistic attitude regarding single motherhood and the lies that they perpetuate regarding the easy, no hassle, carefree way to raise a baby on your own. If you truly believe in CHOICE, then to make an informed choice you need the facts & all viewpoints before choosing—that is what Ann is presenting. The facts that multiple studies show that children from single-parent house holds have higher high school drop out rates, crime rates, suicide rates, teen pregnancy rates,..as compared to kids from a 2 parent family. Don't you think young women should have this information before they aspire to be a "cool independent woman raising a kid by herself"?

  12. 312

ok conservative nut jobs, i know your proud and all, but are you LISTENING to the words coming out of her mouth?!?!

"illegitimate children grow up to be murderers and rapists"??? wtf???

  13. 313

    Re: TanaBanana – #310
umm…you need to go back and re-read my posts because I NEVER said "I" liked Sarah Palin so much…
but then again you were already showing a tendency for misconstruing people's view points—hence the debate on Ann.
As to me being a "female misogynist"—ok, so we are back to the elementary game of liberal calls me a name when they can't intelligently debate me… So, you believe I am a woman hater?? As a woman, who got pregnant as a teen and was a single mom and worked my OWN way through college to now be successful (and married)—who volunteers hundreds of hours per year doing sex education lectures in schools and counseling to teen girls regarding sex and abuse….. I am the absolute opposite of a female misogynist and find the name calling quite humorous… what do YOU do to help your fellow XX chromosomal sisters??

  14. 314

    Re: corcorishardcore – #313
Ok, one more time for those that need it S-l-o-w
Ann is referencing multiple studies that show that kids from single parent families have higher incidence of crime, high school drop outs,… as compared to those from a 2 parent family…
Ann didn't just come up with this theory—there are MULTIPLE studies including some from the American Accademy of Pediatrics that show.
Ann is then using this data to bring to light that the media/tv should NOT glamorize single motherhood because it is hurting society…

  15. 315

Re: corcorishardcore – Apparently YOU aren't listening. She didn't say that illegitimate children grow up to be murders and rapists. She said that 70% of those in prison for murder and rape came from a home with just a mother. Typical liberal, distort what she said for your own personal gain.

  16. 316

Re: Jenny2 – I do applaud your struggle and ability to over come your speedbumps and help others through your wisdom. I am a sexual assault and domestic violence advocate. I do not volunteer; this is my job. I work with an incredible prevention team and our programs have garnered national acclaim. I am simply trying to get people to stop and think a minute when they are so quick to always blame the mother in a single parenting situation. I strongly believe in education and resources for young women and men. I think you should re-read your own comments and try to see them from another person's viewpoint. You have insulted yourself, based on your shared history. You also validated my point- single mom's need guidance, resources, and opportunity. You are living proof of what can be accomplished.

  17. 317

shes a fucking retard, what is she going on about.whats her worry about barack obamas name?????my name is joanne and its an english name and i am in noway what so ever english.and neither do i go by my first initial and middle name, she sounds so stupid trying to make an issue out of nothing.does she really think we all give a shit what his name is???????????????????so fucking annoying but i guess thats the only way she can sell a book.it just gets to me how stupid she sound while trying to pretend she is smart and making sense.

  18. 318

Re: GEMATRIA12 – you fucking idiot yeah cause the fact that hes BLACK is what got him elected!!!!!!!!!!!! what an uneducated fuck you are.make some sense you dumb fuck.that man had all the odds against him and unfortunately being black was one of them and for dumb fucks like you his name was another.im glad to see that there are smarter people than you in the country that no neither of these things matter and despite all the odds he got elected…..so stop making dumb remark like he was elected because he was black and if he were white he would have been out with that name oooooh the fucking stupidity is actually funny.

  19. 319

Re: hogan – yeah should they just make up a bed for that kid of sarah palins daughter in prison now ???

  20. 320

i think for a woman that tries to come across as such a strong level headed woman might just have been put in her place by a man or 2 in her life.shes a fucking joke.

  21. 321

    Re: TanaBanana – #317
I stand by EVERY single one of my prior posts including my comments regarding single mothers & those explaining Ann's comments regarding single mothers. The majority of those who are or have become single mothers have done so because of unwise choices on their part (choosing to have sex with the wrong person, or at the wrong time in their life). I told you I included myself as a past single mom in that category. I do not let men off the hook(nor does Ann)—the majority of single mom's are left holding the ball after irresponsible men reject taking care of the situation they helped create. But, again a woman who chooses to have sex with a partner that they do not know well enough to have full confidence in their "staying power" is not exactly a "victim" when the situation unravels–she needs to take responsibility for her part. THE WHOLE POINT IS THAT ANN IS POINTING OUT THAT THE MEDIA DISTORTS THE "EASY, BREEZY LIFE" OF A SINGLE MOM SO THAT TOO MANY WOMEN DO NOT THINK TWICE WHEN THEY ARE PUTTING THEMSELVES IN SITUATIONS THAT CAN RESULT IN THEM BECOMING ONE… Since we both deal with counseling of women–don't you agree that sharing FACTS & all sides of a situation is in that woman's best interest so that she can make wise choices for her future???

  22. 322

Re: Jenny2 – I do agree with you; all angles do need to be explored. We will just have to agree to disagree about blaming the mother for getting pregnant. I stand by my statement that young women and men need education, guidance, resources, and opportunity in order to make successful decisions in life. But, when an out-of-wedlock pregnancy occurs, they need input that is useful, not blaming; further chiping away at their self-esteem. Desperate, single mothers also make bad decisions to support themselves and their children when they feel they have no other opptions.

I can also tell you I would have had a much happier childhood if my father had not been in the picture. The fact that we bring many different issues into our discuss underscores both the importance of these issues and the complexities involved. I hope you do not get defensive about this as it is not meant as a personal attack. I admit I do not have all of the answers and my begining views are not always my ending views. I get a feeling from your personal comments that you are saying- I did it, and I did it by myself. Since I was able to do this myself everyone should be able to. I am sorry if I have gotten the wrong impression. It would help me if you will acknowledge that young women and men are indivuduals; each coming with their own set of needs. I respect you, even if we do not agree.

  23. 323

    Re: TanaBanana – #323
I also agree–education is a KEY component. I believe educating young women with the FACTS regarding these studies so that they don't have some fantasy regarding single motherhood & can be made fully aware of the reality of circumstances is a VERY important thing. As to the single moms–no I don't believe everyone is able to "do it themselves" (another reason that the difficulty should not be glossed over by media/t.v.), I am very much in support of counseling programs that we seem to both be a part of to help guide these women. What I do not support is government programs whose focus is "fixing" someone's bad choices w/free money. The worst instances I have seen is where women have made bad choices & then are "bailed out" w/ government assistance for rent,food/health care…they don't have to take any responsibility for improving themselves so that they can make wiser choices in the future–instead they continue the same behavior. As to me, yes I did do it "by myself" for a long time & I have a lot of pride that despite the crappy decision(s) I made–I took responsibility, grew, & overcame it. It would probably surprise you that I was an EXTREME liberal feminist in college but over the past decade have really become very conservative. I truly believe that the ultimate feminist is one who believes in giving women ALL facts about something so that she can make wise decisions.
