It's Official! Taylor Lautner To Return as Jacob in New Moon

The search for the new Jacob is over.
They're sticking with the old dude!
Twilight author Stephanie Meyer just confirmed the casting news on her official website.
Stephanie posted the following note from New Moon director Chris Weitz :
"I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.
The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I'm looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.

"I'd just like to add that I was very much a part of this decision. My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie. I'm glad to hear that, but I think they are going too fast on making the sequel. I think it's going to stink. Twilight was just okay, nothing real special. Book was better. I am concerned that the next movie is going to suck…

I think it's perfect. He'll ruin the part because Jacob physically ages 10 years in New Moon. So, Lautner will ruin the part and there will be no chemistry between Jake and Bella. We'll just want to get it over with so we can see Edward more!

The problem with Twilight is not so much the actors (although I will say, Kristin Stewart is the anti-Bella) but the way they were directed. Way over the top. I have confidence in Taylor Lautner so long as the new director manages his actors better. And tells K-Stewart to lighten up a bit.

Happy. I thought he was great as Jacob. Jacob started out as a whimpy minor character… this kid can bulk up enough to be a beefy almost werewolf. And besides, it's just muscles… there's no way they could expect him to grow an additional 2.5'… they can leave that up to the magic of technology to make him super tall like Jacob is.

As a new fan to the Twilight series (i just got done reading New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn in ONE week), I am so incredibly happy that Taylor got to keep his role as Jacob Black. I am reading everyone's comments on how they should replace Kristen Stewart. I do not agree. I do agree that she didn't put enough emotion into Bella, as we all know Bella was intense about Edward pretty much from the beginning. She needed him more than she needed air. But I think she is going to do a much better job this time around. I am very concerned that they are going to butcher the rest of the movies. But regardless, I will be standing in line for 3 hours for the premiere! I really do hope that they do not ruin New Moon by making Edward the main character. This is Jacob's (Taylor's) and they should stay true to the book. So there is my peace. I'm just ecstatic!! xoxo

Fuck yes for Taylor as Jacob!! First off they fucked up in the firs movie in the flashback because the wolves are supposed to be the size of goddam horses. Also Taylor is probably too short to really depict book Jacob, but film Jacob he will do fine. He and Kristen have better chemistry then her and Rob.
