- Caroline Kennedy is getting softer press treatment in her pursuit of the New York Senate seat than she did as the GOP vice presidential nominee because of Kennedy’s social class.
- The press coverage of her and her family was and continues to be 'unfair'.
- Katie Couric and Tina Fey have been “capitalizing on” and “exploiting” her.

After elections she knew she couldn't win, then she tosses her hat in and says "Oh oh oh, appoint me! I'm a Kennedy!!". It IS on of the most high profile seats in the Senate. Good grief. Some people need to go back to American Government class in middle school.
The funniest comments here have to be about how "Palin is whining, I wish she'd shut up, no one cares what she has to say, etc." but a media outlet came to HER. She didn't start banging down the door of their offices. She was asked questions and gave her answer, which was correct. Tina Fey's show was even tanking, on the brink of cancellation (and I can see why, it's dumb. I like TF actually, but that show was just awful). Katie Couric was on the brink of being fired. Boom, Palin mania, look where their ratings are.
what makes Caroline Kennedy qualified to hold a Senate seat? Other than her last name? At least Sarah Palin was a legitimate Governer that WORKED to get where she was! Caroline has had a silver spoon in her mouth since she was born! You people that say you HATE Sarah Palin…..you dont even KNOW the woman, how can you hate her?? The Difference between Palin and Kennedy is that we KNOW Caroline. SHe has been in the media for years. Palin shot herself in the foot for allowing John mcCain to use her to wrangle in Hillary voters simply because she shares the same plumbing as Clinton.
Re: I Like Myself – I watched it for myself, just like I watched all of her interviews, and debates, and made my decision based on that. There is one specific answer, that yes, Fey quoted verbatim. Not everything in the script of course. I've heard Biden screw up, I've heard Obama screw up, they all have. The fact remains that if you're going put yourself out there, pull up your big girl panties when they make fun of you and take the loss like a woman. The blame game is so lame. Bush said moronic things but he still got elected, why? He was able to convince Americans he was qualified. If Sarah Palin can't let her politics shine through despite the comedic sketches, she's obviously not fit for the job. Period. I respect your right to your opinion, but we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

She followed up on that in a later interview explaining why she said it that way. Tina Fey based her comedy on how Sarah answered her questions. Of course there are exaggerations of accent, and mannerisms, etc., that's comedy. She needs to get over it and use this time to do something good with her career, rather than making a fool of herself by whining about her loss.

I proudly voted for Obama/Biden and I am no fan of Palin but she made some valid points. It is hard to deny that the media was biased in Obama’s favor, that was even evident during the Democratic Primary with Clinton. Palin was also probably the best thing that happened to Fey’s career and Couric’s ratings were horrible until Palin’s series of disaster interviews. I also agree that the media is being too light on Caroline Kennedy, no offense but that woman is not anywhere near qualified to be a Senator. Caroline is an ivy league educated lawyer, just like Obama was before he became a Senator. Caroline has also grown up in the most political family in the country and undoubtedly learned a great deal from her grandmother, uncle and mother. Sorry, but a weather girl is just not even close. She's a bitter kook. Most of what Fey wrote in her comedy sketches were words from Palin's mouth. If she's pissed she should blame herself for not keeping her trap shut until she could express herself in an intelligent manner.

If you had 2 A list celebrities at an awards show, and one said something strange or funny live on TV, the other just read the cue cards, GUESS which celebrity is going to be spoofed on SNL. She was not sitting in her penthouse when she got a call offering her the US Senate seat from the state of New York. FYI, the media didn't project the swift boat veterans. they are known as a special INDEPENDENT group that does not affiliate themselves with EITHER PARTY nor ENDORSE any particular candidate. Technically, they are referred to by their veteran party number (I am thinking it's the 401s, but it's been a semester since I had my campaign media politics class). This means that other independent groups have EVERY RIGHT and OPPORTUNITY to run ads expressing THEIR opinions as well– but just chose not to. This is in no way similar to MEDIA — official news SOURCES (CNN, etc.)– being biased. And, as someone that just not just repeat what I see on tv but rather INVESTIGATE it (through other news networks, online news sources, drudge, etc) so that I can have a CLEAR view of the entire issue– I can say there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the majority of media is biased against conservatives. Don't talk about things you don't understand.
Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg can’t even string together a coherent sentence, yet Palin is the incompetent speaker? Please, perhaps she needs to drop a couple “you betcha”s from her replies, but she is a good public speaker. She may not have given answers liberals like, or gave even the wrong answer to something occasionally, but I hardly ever heard her um, ahh, or “ya know” her way through an answer the way Obama and Schlossberg do.
Why do people think Kennedy should be appointed based on her family legacy? I am talking about the ones who talk about how she has grown up in a political family and has many years of being exposed to politics, yada, yada. I grew up in a medical family (8 doctors in the fam) and have been exposed to and participated in debates about medical treatments and whatnot over the years, does that make me Surgeon General material? Please. And for the record, JFK and RFK were tragedies. The rest of the deceased Kennedy's are dead by stupidity. God bless her brother, but he was a relatively inexperienced pilot who had no business flying if he can't fly by instrument control only; the uncle that died while playing football on snowskis? A cousin who was accused of date rape (yeah, he was acquitted–so was O.J. remember?). I don't think the Kennedy name is much to howl over.

Her comments about Obamas family being off limits to the media but hers not is QUITE funny. She really needs to examine herself and her actions. Obama's kids were AT HOME in Chicago at school while he was on the campaign trail 99% of the time. Michelle Obama was at home in Chicago with her children most of the campaign, until it came to the end of the race and she needed to do campaigning on his behalf. His family was off limits because he kept them OUT of the public eye. He protected his children and did not use them as media tools. SARAH PALIN pulled her kids out of school (no education for 3 months!) and dragged them out on the campaign trail with her. They were constantly in the media spotlight, peaking curiosity. She used them to get attention so its very ironic that she is now claiming it is UNWANTED attention.

Couric and Fey may not have capitalized off her however in all, the media did, her gender and her class was exploited very inappropriately. Sarah Palin is the "Lndsey Lohan" of politics. Nothing is her fault. People pick on her. People are mean to her. She doesn't give a bad interview so if she looks bad blame the interviewer. She trots her family out there then pouts when people comment on the pregancy & the dropping out of school. Although they did not drop out (per Palin) as they HAVE PLANS to get diplomas or whatever. The media has built up Obama so much that he won't be able to help but take a huge tumble from grace over the next 4 years. That makes me happy, what doesn't though is that it will be at the expense of the American people. He's already fucking up and isn't even in office yet! Sarah, you'll have the last laugh. I liked Palin for the fact that she wasn't Hollywood or a celebrity. Americans now expect their government leaders to be in the latest issues of US weekly and People. Sarah never played to that and was burned at the cross for it. She didn't seem to want to change who she was for a few extra votes. That's called having values.

The colleges someone attended mean absolutely nothing considering their qualifications. It also means nothing about how qualified Kennedy did if she's written books. Palin had the highest approval rating of any of governor in the country. She got her citizens tax rebates, she fought and defeated corruption on both sides throughout her state, and she's worked wonders in Alaska. Kennedy hasn't done anything close to that. The colleges each woman attending don't support the argument that either one is more qualified than the other. Keep in mind that Palin was from a middle class family and had to work hard to afford college, it was easy for Kennedy to go to a nice college because of her family's wealth.

Palin has the highest approval rating of ANY state governor, has a history of reform and fiscal conservatism. Those are the facts. The media, however, was more concerned with their ideology and character assasination.

Her father was a womanizer who didn’t accomplish anything substantial as President. His fame came from becoming assassinated.
Her mother married for money twice. She was “Paris Hilton” like famous for the family name.
Her brother was famous for taking the bar exam several times before passing it and for piloting his airplane into the sea killing his wife and a friend.

Palin got to where she is today because of hard work, she didn't come from a wealthy family. Caroline Kennedy got to where she is because of her last name and money.
