Zefron's Werwolf Has Not Been Cast in the Twilight Sequel - She Hasn't Even Auditioned!

It's just a rumor! At least that's what the New Moon screenwriter says!
When scribe Melissa Rosenberg was asked if VaneXXXa Hudgens has indeed auditioned for the role of Leah, she answered:
"…if Vanessa is auditioning for the role of Leah, she’s written her own pages to read, ’cause I didn’t write ‘em. "
Yup, Leah is not going to be in the movie version of Twilight!
Furthermore, E.W. reports that studio insiders AND people in Hudgens' camp have debunked the casting buzz.

Yay!!! I am a little disappointed about Leah not being in the film, but soooo happy that Vanessa won't ruin the film. I'm a greedy bitch, I don't want to share my movie with a bunch of High School Musical fans. Plus, she's not pretty enough to be Leah, or tough enough.

the movies gonna suck anyways– i mean they start shooting in march, theyre lanning on releasing it into theaters in november– if you take into account that they have to shoot not only in vancouver but also in italy, then also add in the special effects and editing… most movies take about 6 months after filming has wrapped to do editing and specal effect, THEN release it, to make it a better qualit movie. sorry, but i dont see that doing justice to the books that are so awesome to make such a craptastic movie!

I am so glad that she is not in the movie. She is ok looks wise, but not how I would envision Leah. She is, however, like most Disney spawn, a less than mediocre actress. Not that I am a film critic, but Leah is kind of a complex character and you can't get that kind of depth from two dimensional Vanessa. It does suck she won't be in the movie, maybe the next one.

the twilight fanbase is just as diverse as the HP fans, ranging from girls 10-45 as far as I know, I've seen men read for multiple reasons, one being to get tips from Edward Cullen on how to get the girl, so this whole idea of "fat teenagers" is just dumb. Its a good book and while teenagers make up a big number, its not only read by them.

This is such a big relief. People would have been too busy liking or hating Vanessa to concentrate on the rest of the cast, which is awesome.

I am not pleased with the news. I thought it would be interesting to have a HSM person in Twilight. I'm not head over heals for Vanessa, but it would have gotten some attention. AND I am not pleased with no Leah. She is a character in the book! She was put into the series for a reason, and that fucked up screenwriter always screws up the script. I mean Twilights script was CRAP! There were important parts missing, and parts that weren't even in the book in the movie.
i'm really happy that Vanessa Hudgens won't be ruining the Twilight movies… but… how can there be no Leah!?!

Leah, as well as all of the Clearwaters, need to be in New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. They need to stay as close to the books as possible (and not improvise with statements such as, 'spider monkey,'), in order to keep fans happy! Leah has a small role, but it is very important.
