She was WIDELY rumored to have "stolen" (rather SAMPLED) a song meant to be recorded by Mariah Carey back in 2001. J.Lo was "allegedly" in cahoots with Tommy Mottola (Mariah's ex) who was head of their record label at the time (afterward Mariah had her "infamous" breakdown). Lopez sampled two songs from the soundtrack to Carey's movie 'Glitter' in two versions of her own hit track 'I'm Real' for her album 'J.Lo.'

Tommy Mattolla stole ideas and hooks from Mariahs Glitter album and made JLo use them. The original version of "Im Real" uses a beat from a song called "Firecracker" that mariah originally used for Loverboy. Once she found out what happen, Mariah changed Loverboy. The remix version of "I'm Real" with JA Rule was originally a concept of Mariah and Ja Rule singing and harmonizing back and fourth from another song off the Glitter album called "If We". Tommy herd "If We" and told Irv Gotti to go and record a song just like it with JLo and Ja Rule thus giving you the "I'm Real Murda Remix"
