Thankfully, the plane landed in one piece!!!!!
A US Airways plane taking off from New York's La Guardia airport 'crashed' into the Hudson River, near Manhattan's 57th Street on Thursday afternoon.
Geese flying into one of the plane's engines are supposedly to blame.
The plane is intact and passengers are being rescued by boats right now.
There were 146 passengers on board the flight, along with 5 crew members.
There is no report on their conditions. Everyone made it out okay!
Some of the passengers were seen standing on the wings of the plane.
The plane was heading to Charlotte, NC.
Developing!

Re: whosthebitchnow – Thank you for clarifying. You have to be drunk to be praising the incoming of Osama, oh, I mean Hussein Obama.
Re: vampyra –
…because anytime an American plane carrying 140 something people crashes it is going to be national news… Couple that with a water landing, in frigid literally freezing water and everyone surviving…! I'm just going to assume you were being sarcastic…
I'm so glad everyone lived. Flew with US Airways yesterday out of Liguardia into SC before connecting to San Fran for school… It hit really close to home knowing that today it very possibly could have been me! That's some crazy shit to think about and i'm sure crazier to live through! These people are lucky…again i'm glad everyone was ok!
Re: Ksmurfer –
*NC
That was a great crew for getting them all off in time
Re: LizardKinG – #35 LMFAO - Good call!!!
Thank God everyone made it out okay and thank god for the pilot who was able to control the plane in such a way that it was able to stay in one piece and afloat!
Re: whosthebitchnow – I second that!
As there were many "heros" during this miracle which unfolded today on the Hudson. The true "HEROS" were the Captain who landed this plane so perfectly on the water and the Captains of the waterferrys and the Coast Guard vessels who responded within minutes to save numerous lives.
i watched the plane float down the river
there was a parade of nyc cop cars and so much going on down by the river today….i heard they practice these drills daily so thankfully everyone was able to react quick…i cant believe how quickly those ferrys reacted in helping get everyone out
Thank God all those people made it out safe!
where will you be flying…ah…I mean floating
that is so scary, glad everyones ok. i fly every year and i get more and more nervous every time!!
Wow, they're really taking the promotional activities for LOST to new levels this season!
Unreal!!!!!!
Unreal. No life was lost. That is the best.
That's why airline pilots get paid the big bucks. That flight crew saved the lives of over 150 people.
so glad everyone was safe good job pilot bringn everyone to safety
Re: HollywoodTown – What is wrong with what he posted? I applaud what he wrote and would of wrote the same. Are you going to tell me to shut up?

Anyone who wants - there's a group on FaceBook called Fans of Scullberger, where you can write a comment for Cpt. Scullberger. I googled to find something like that — I joined, and I guess I think it would be very cool if a ton of folks did, just so it would make the news and he would know thousands are thankful to him.
Re: Hymie4 – Actually, it was the passenger ferry boats that showed up first. The ferries and water taxi captains saw the plane coming in a turned around to go back to help before seconds before the plane even hit.
Leave it to the libitard's to blame George Bush for allowing the geese to fly across our borderless border. Blame Bush! Blame Canada! The poor geese were only trying to get as far away from the inauguration of the Obmanation as possible!
Its good the piot had control and landed it basically on the water rather than dropping in because it kept the plane intact and pressurized and floating so it didnt sink. What gets me is that it was BIRDS, its like you talk about this and they ask why it went down… terrorists, explosion, NOPE, birds! They realy should find a way to prevent that, I mean we have the technology to send people to the moon but not keep a plane from going down because of a bird. anyway, glad everyone is ok.
RIP All of the geese that the plane ran into.
hey harrybalsac nice
i love how people on the news act like the geese maliciously flew into the planes engines. more like the plane flew into the geese. planes do fly at 500mph. geese ,however, do not.
