The producers of Speed the Plow have officially filed a grievance with Actor's Equity, the Broadway thesps' union, following Jeremy Piven's mercury-induced departure from the show.
The Pivert's apparently gone in for a second opinion, but those results aren't available yet.
What exactly are the symptoms for douchebag syndrome?
The Entourage star left the show two months early, citing "mercury poisoning", and now the producers are likely gonna milk him for money.

someone in his entourage should give him the fucking memo that if you are going to fake an illness that at least act like your sick. instead he goes out and parties all the time. he cant honestly be that stupid. thats like playing hookey at work or school and then posting pictures on your myspace or facebook account of you out having a good time and clearly not sick.

I really liked him as an actor, however, it seems he is not being truthful and pulled out for other reasons. This was not fair to all the people who worked on the production.
He was interviewed by Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America about the mercury poisoning. He sounded sincere and the malady that caused him confusion and extreme fatigue sounded believable. (But, then again, he is a very good actor.)
Producers are going to "milk him"….sounds like fun!
It sounds strange, because you would have to believe that he would need backup from doctors saying he was no longer able to perform on stage. Mercury poisoning would be a strange illness to fake, if you were going to fake an illness-most 'actors, actresses' usually go the 'in the hospital for exhaustion' route or rehab route. Besides, you can be ill and not be able to work doing something stressful, under lights, etc. but are able to walk around and drink yourself into oblivion. Maybe the show figures it will try to generate some kind of publicity for itself
