Talk about the power to influence people!
President Barack Obama has inspired millions with his words and actions. So much so that a new musical is even being made about him. The show is titled Obama on My Mind.
The play’s music, lyrics, and script, were written by U.S. writer Teddy Hayes.
Hayes describes his show as “a humorous romp set in an Obama campaign office, with songs that mix pop, gospel, jazz, ‘some Motownish stuff’ and even tango.”
The casting hasn’t been announced yet, but they won’t have to worry about finding a Barack. The Obama character never actually appears on stage.
Hayes said, “Nobody can really impersonate Obama, can they? He’s a one-off.”
The musical is set to open at a small theater in London this March from the 3rd through the 21st.
