Dakota Fanning To Join Twilight Sequel???

Twilight will be getting some more "star" power for part two of the film franchise!
According to reports, set to play Volturi vampire Jane, opposite hottie Robert Pattinson in the upcoming sequel, will be Dakota Fanning.
The soon-to-be 15 year-old is said to be in talks to play the Italian bloodsucker in New Moon.
A source reveals that "There were no auditions. They just offered it to her outright, and now they're in negotiations."
Really? DAKOTA FANNING???? As a vampire?
New Moon is expected to start filming in Italy this March. The flick should be released in theaters this November.
What do U think? Should Fanning take the role of vampire Jane?

Awwww I'm kinda against having big names in these movies, butttttt I do like her. And Jane isn't THAT big a character anyways, so it's sweet!
Why not! Kristina Dunst did it at 10 years of age along with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. This young lady can act. Funny she was in War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. JMO! She will make a great addition to the cast. Just make sure Pattinson is there.
And she is so young, aren't the voltari against children becoming vampires? But they are going to cast a child that looks like a child as a voltari? LOL. come on…

I do think that she is great person to cast for this movie! But on the other hand, I think that this movie would do so much better if it cast nobodys in this film. It gives the film industry a lot of new ppl to consider for future films. But I really love Dakota she is such a great actress!

i agree… i can't see her being mean… not the mean that Jane is suppose to be at least… but i think she will be able to do it just fine… especially compared to some of the other "acting" that goes on in the film….
Personally I think that's excellent casting. The book says that Jane appears as a darling, super sweet, innocent looking girl, which is the exact opposite of her true personality. She takes joy out of causing other vampires pain. I think Dakota will do dark VERY well.

I think Dakota has proved she has staying power. Some of the casting they had done for the first movie seemed out of place and some people just didn't seem like the right people for the parts, BUT Dakota Fanning would be an AWESOME choice for Jane!

dakota has a young, innocent look to her, which is what Jane needs to be.
dakota has a pretty wide range for an actor her age, i think she would play the part exceptionally well, and do New Moon some justice.

You all just LOVE to complain! I for one think she might do a good job, if she reads up on Jane's character. Jane inflicts pain mentally, so it'll be interesting seeing Dakota portray that. Although I liked the idea of how they close unfamilar faces in Twilight instead of already well known people.
truthfully, she was on my mind at first as well. However, I do not think they should go for it.
1) she most certainly takes money away from the budget, which sounds too small as it is
2) the whole feel of the movie, and the book for that matter, is naturalistic and real. Big, well-known stars take something away from it, and make it seem less real, as in it could happen. They also often want to redo their lines, more lines etc. which can ruin the movie, in the end.
so no, they should find someone fresh, who channels Dakota, but is not her.
I´m sure they can find a gifted teenager to play Jane, if they just look hard enough. Even the blonde girl from Big love, Amanda Seyfried, could be great for this role, with less "star-baggage".

Dakota Fanning IS Jane. Anyone who has read all four books indeed knows that she is perfect. She is small, cute in an eerie way, and pale as powder. She will not ruin the movie but in fact bring more acting credibility. and YOU will still see it if she is in it. so SHUT UP with your hatred.

It's a good idea. the whole premise of the vampires in twilight is that they are supposed to be "stunningly beautiful", a feat hardly accomplished in the first film, other than with Robert. Dakota has the milky complexion and is TALENTED…i think she will pull it off great
