Dakota Fanning To Join Twilight Sequel???

Twilight will be getting some more "star" power for part two of the film franchise!
According to reports, set to play Volturi vampire Jane, opposite hottie Robert Pattinson in the upcoming sequel, will be Dakota Fanning.
The soon-to-be 15 year-old is said to be in talks to play the Italian bloodsucker in New Moon.
A source reveals that "There were no auditions. They just offered it to her outright, and now they're in negotiations."
Really? DAKOTA FANNING???? As a vampire?
New Moon is expected to start filming in Italy this March. The flick should be released in theaters this November.
What do U think? Should Fanning take the role of vampire Jane?

I think it would be interesting. But I dont want to see them fill the cast with all these actors and actress that only want parts cause of how big it turned out to be. We need people who really respect the books and want to be in the movie cause they really believe it, and like it. Not just cause its the next big thing.

No, simply because Jane appears in the fourth book, and (if they end up making the fourth movie) she's still young and growing and it might ruin it later on considering vampires don't age.

I've read a lot of comments about how she looks to sweet to play a vampire. Read the books people. Jane is supposed to look young, petite, sweet and innocent but in reality is very dangerous. This role is perfect for Dakota, I hope they cast her.

According to that… Dakota fits perfectly.. even if you think she is sort of a tool.. the description is accurate..

I think she is perfect for Jane! I hope Summit does cast her! I can definitely see it and so can other fans, judging from the comments I've read.

Dakota is true talent and she has the acting chops, to do any role that she wants. She is more talented than people twice her age and I will be happy to see her in New Moon. Although Jane's character is very strong and is of great authority but she will do great.

uhmmm … honestly it is such a small/minimal part for those of you who have read new moon know… with the movie she'll prob. only be in it for all of 10 minutes. also, i would think they would find a better character. Jane is actually kind of scary in the book… they are definitely going to need to dye her hair as well. i think they could fine better, butttt she'll have to do if they just 'offered' her the role and didnt even bother to do casting… whatever.

Did not see the twilight movie cause i heard it sucked. Maybe if they had better actors it might have not. Dakota is a great young actor and I see her having a long career if she doesn't go the Britney-Lindsay route. She has acting chops so I think she could do any role. If she can pull it off acting-wise it will be amazing. Her looks fit the description of Jane perfectly. However, I think it would be more appealing if they could get a no-name to rock the role. Twilight and Harry Potter have been good for bringing out no-name and barely-heard-ofs to A list status!
i think she would be good as the role of jane. but there already working such a low budget, is it really worth it to have her in the film? (assuming she gets paid a couple million per film) i think the money that would be used for her salary could be used elsewhere, like for special affects.

Dakota Fanning…. hmmm. I honestly never thought about her as Jane, but to be honest I've been so caught up stalking Rob Pattz and freaking over Taylor getting to stay as Jacob (i was so happy) that I havent thought about the other characters. She def fits the physical description. Lets all hope she pulls it off, cuz if she doesnt I will be SOOOO disappointed (but at least I can stare at Taylor and Rob for an hour and a half haha)

this is actually really funny because my friend and i were just talking about her playing jane like two days ago and how ridiculously un-cool that would be because we would like it better if Twilight stuck to unknowns to better play into the people "being" these characters… dakota fanning is too mainstream. her playing Jane would take away the mystical aspect of Twilight
