The UK's News of the World scored a picture of Olympics poster child Michael Phelps taking a big bong hit of what is assumed to be marijuana.
The tabloid always get their hands on crazy, juicy stuff!
The photo of Phelps supposedly getting high was snapped at a University of South Carolina party back in early November.
He was apparently visiting a university girl he was 'secretly' seeing.
We thought he was with that Vegas cocktail ho in November!

One of the partygoers told the tabloid:
"You could tell Michael had smoked before. He grabbed the bong and a lighter and knew exactly what to do. He looked just as natural with a bong in his hands as he does swimming in the pool. He was the gold medal winner of bong hits. Michael ended up getting a little paranoid, though, because before too long he looked like he was nervous and ran out of the place.”
What an idiot!
The Golden Boys' corporate sponsors sure won't be pleased!
When Phelps' agents caught wind that the NOTW was going to run the pic, they supposedly got down on their hands and knees for mercy. The gold medal winner's money men offered the paper,
1. Phelps as a NOTW columnist for three years
2. Host for NOTW events
3. Advertising money from Phelps' corporate sponsors
We're glad the NOTW said no and ran with it!
More importantly, Golden Boy might be out of the London 2012 Olympics because of this eff up.
A law that bans athletes for four-years for taking drugs has just hit the Olympic rule book.
The US Olympics Committee, USA Swimming and Phelps’ coach Bob Bowman have refused to comment.

Get over it people. It is an HERB. God created it and it grows naturally and isn't made in stills or cooked over stoves. It needs to be legalized. It isn't some preformance enhancing drug. It just mellows you out and lets you laugh. Big whooptie doo. Phelps is a hero plain and simple. He is superman. And he is an adult. I just don't get what the big whoop about pot is. Remember the 60's? The govt only arrests people who smoke it as a control mechanism. And only made it illegal to regulate certain people. We live in the times of prohibiton. Legalize it already. Quit wasting my tax dollars busting and imprisoning people for something so mickey mouse is pot! Save those resources for the rapists and real criminals.

Its very sad that a young man who has suceeded in the top 1% of the current world population will be criticized by so many. His success forces him to live a fake life. All he was doing was having a not too atypical college experience. Imagine if he had gotten arrested how much more gossip would be going on. Its interesting that few would criticize doctors that gave him add medicine when the pot medicine may be more effective for him. He doesn't seem self destructive and still has a humbleness about himself.

Phelps is sort of a NATIONAL HERO… this for sure will affect his image and will cause him troubles with the products he is endorsing but as fast as they will go away soon enough new ones will ask him to promote their brands… he will pull a Kate Moss, he will keep himself up!

Re: MISTERMARK – Um…..it is NOT basically legal in Canada. It differs province to province…but basically, the only change is that if you are caught with a small amount of cannibis (2 joints….more or less)…you wont end up with a criminal record for possesion. You will however be slapped with a large fine, and it will be confiscated. It should be legal…far less harmful than alcohol…..but go light up a joint in frot of a cop and find out how legal it is.

Leave the kid alone. We all did dumb stuff at 23. It isn't easy to grow up in the public eye. And who the heck hasn't tried pot at least once?! I don't know anyone! Obviously he's not a druggie b/c he would have tested positive at some point. It's easy to get caught up in the moment if you are drinking…which is why booze is worse b/c it lets your guard down and you take stupid chances. The worst you will do high on pot is eat too much or take a nap!
To tell you the truth, I was kind of expecting that . . . I mean come ON! It's not a total shocker. He's still young, and what do young people do? Get wasted, go to parties, get high, sleep with random college chicks, etc.
