Christian Bale needs to sit his diva ass down!
Back in July we told you about his freak out on the set of Terminator Salvation when he got mad at the director of photography for adjusting a light during his scene.
The sneaky sound guys kept rolling throughout the entire incident, catching every threatening word on tape.
And it's pretty crazy! He threatens to quit that bitch if the director doesn't fire the offending crew member!
We're surprised the director didn't step in to wrangle his actor! He wasn't acting very professionally! And it was the DP, not just some grip!

get it right,perez, he said he wouldn't come back on the set or whatever if the dp messed up again…he didn't say that he would quit if the director didn't fire him right away
I thought this was real bad when I first heard it, but then again just about every job I've had someone's wigged out at work, guys and girls. One job I had at a retail shop, the boss and one of the girls I worked with, had a major screaming match in the middle of the shop. And I also worked at a trucking company, this is basically how they use to say hello to each other. It happens in average workplaces too, sometimes pressure just builds up, better to let it out than keep it. Sometimes you just gotta take shit and get on with the job.
what a total douche. seriously, what the hell is his problem? he thinks he can treat people any way he wants because he's the star.

I'm torn on this one - but ultimately the DP was correct in doing what he did. If he's able to make an adjustment on lighting while filming is taking place - versus having to do a re-shoot, - then he should do just that. The actor (Mr. Bale) should have simply kept right on with his lines and finished the scene. You think for one minute the DP did that without being told to by the DIRECTOR ? Deduction: Bale was very unprofessional and i'm sure no one on that set would ever want to work with him again.
You can't accuse him of being a diva unless you get the real situation there… what if the light was near his head or somewhere where he was in danger??? what if the lights where just straight into his eyes??? I would have been very very upset too!!! Actors need to get into their characters and must be really annoying to be ready to give 100% of yourself and having some douche there trying to fix someone that is supposed to be ready!!! You will be surprised to know how many actors do similar rants… being an actor is not that easy!

There is no excuse for this rediculous outburst. All those people defending Christian Bale on this most likely have never worked in front of or behind a camera on set. I was a working actor in LA for several years as well as a member of the production crew on many major film and television projects. This freak out was not Bale's job, he is an actor. He does not run the set nor does he have the authority to command individuals working on the set. As an actor, I understand the frustration of someone interrupting a great take. However, it's film, and there are several retakes possible, and unfortunately it's a given that most scenes have to be shot and reshot again several times, regardless of performance or error. As a professional, Christian knows this. It's unfortunate that the DP made errors however he is a human being and all actors make mistakes as well. People working on sets don't use that as an excuse to attack them with rage and venom. This kind of actor, regardless of how talented and great, is not a commodity on a set and actually poses a threat to the unity and safety of everyone on set. I predict he will face consequences as far as directors wanting to cast him after hearing this tape.

I never thought of this guy as anything special. He is average looking. This aside, he has major anger issues and needs to get help for this. His wifey probably has to put up with this on a weekly basis. Actors need to do lots of takes and what about when lighting/camera/etc guys put in lots of effort into a scene and the actors fucks up the scene by screwing up their lines? Others have to put up with this shit so he should just have sucked it up.

I think his response was correct. If the DP is in the shot that is bad. They have to redo the scene every time some mishap happens and it costs money (for film, as well as editing) as well as the actors time because of the screw up. How would you like to redo a scene 10 times if one of the crew members kept making a mistake. The Director should have been doing his job and keeping the dp in line rather than the actor.
I wish you people would quit being so quick to judge. Christian is a serious actor, he knows what he is doing and he wants to do a good job. That's it. If you know about the rest of his films you know he puts 110% into what he does.

As an actor, I can honestly say that there are times that everyone on set or on stage feels like doing this. We've all FELT like doing it but actually losing it on someone when it is not our place to do so is completely uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. We are at the bottom of the Hollywood food chain and some of us need to remember that we get all of the glory because every single other person working on a piece has made us look good. Get a clue, Mr. Bale.

Not really sure who hired the crew for this movie but they did a terrible job.

You all are also forgetting that this man lost someone very close to him (Heath Ledger). This was recorded 8 months ago and I am sure that he had a lot to deal with at the time on top of filming this movie. Again, the majority of you have never been on a film set and can't fully understand what that atmosphere is like and the pressure that mounds when trying to complete scenes. Imagine how you would feel is someone told you that you didn't have a right to be stressed about something when they don't even know you or your situation. He shouldn't have gone on like he did, but I am sure he regained composure and you never know, he may have ever said he was sorry. None of you know what happened prior and after this argument because none of you were there.
You know, for all of you people who are hating on him, at least he's a respected actor who cares deep enough about his craft that he'll freak out on someone (I'd be pissed too if someone disrupted me when I was shooting a scene).
