It’s always nice to see celebs using their name and – even money – for good.
Global superstar Shakira was in her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia, on Tuesday, attending a press conference at a new school she funded.
Her organization, The Barefoot Foundation, has just added a fifth school.
The new facility will be able to serve over 1,500 students!
The school is located in one of the poorest communities and will set its focus on bilingual and art education.
The good humanitarian said, “This institution is a reflection of what we want to propose. Therefore I believe that society should ask its government to invest in education. A big part of why I am here is to draw attention to the issue of education.”
