Radio Stations Stop Playing Chris Brown Songs!

And the drama with alleged female beater Chris Brown continues!
In the aftermath of his arrest for domestic abuse, Brown has been dropped suspended from his Wrigley's gum ads and his MILK ads have also been pulled.
Now, a radio station in Cleveland, WAKS FM 96.5, has pulled all music by Chris Brown from airplay!
Java Joel, the station's evening host, said in a press release issued by Clear Channel that "After the alleged incident the phones exploded. It's all that people wanted to talk about. They were outraged at this alleged behavior and wondered why we were continuing to support his music. I agreed and immediately pulled all Chris Brown songs from my show until this thing shakes out in the legal system."
That's when the station's program director, Bo Matthews, decided to pull Brown's music off from the station entirely. Matthews said, "It appears that Chris has made some poor choices, we are following the lead of our listeners, and we will not be supporting Chris Brown on 96.5 Kiss FM in Cleveland until the alleged situation gets resolved."

This mad dog is finished!!! I was very upset this morning, that my favorite radio station…Movin' FM 9.97, in Northern California is still playing Chris Brown songs. I am of mixed race, mostly black…so this isn't about color. I am so appalled by this cowardly monster, Chris Brown. He was going to launch a record company of his own, most people don't know that, even selecting acts. I am glad that he has been exposed for the freakish misfit of an animal that he really is, before he could gain more power in the industry, and do more damage to others. I want him thrown in prison for 25 years, to life. He should be charged for attempted murder, not just assault. Based upon this case, the authorites should do a close check on Chris Brown and anyone whom he may have associated with, even loosely, in recent years, who may have mysteriously wound up hurt, or missing. I have a deep feeling this guy is capable of murder, and has probably acted on it before.
Pittsburgh's 96.1 kiss also did the same thing.

As awful as I think this is, I believe that this is a truly sad sad sad sad story. I love Chris Brown, and I always think about that adorable video he did with elmo. I am not in ANY way defending or condoning chris brown or his behavior- but this radio station obvi did this for publicity- do they ever play CHANGES by tupac- the convicted rapist and murderer? I can't tell you how good this makes me feel. A few years ago, the police wouldn't even charge a guy for beating on a woman. They would consider it "personal" until the guy killed her. Then it was a homicide. So to have all these people reacting so positive is great. It sends a message that there is ZERO tolerance for domestic battery. As my sweet, conceited Kanye said, "It should have never come to this. " Chris Brown needs to make sure his posse and his "friends" and relatives do NOT go near that poor girl and harrass her in any way. Because I am hearing that is what they are doing. Anonymous threatening phone calls and other stuff to her peeps in L.A. This is really a rotten situation. Rihanna better be cooperating with Police. Chris Brown needs some mental health help. The record label and his management will be rolling out their PR machine b/c they need to protect their cash cow. They have no conscience and could care less about what's right and wrong. The only thing that matters is $$$$$$. Who else is putting out these disparaging rumors about Rhianna? His PR team of course who want to demonize the victim. Look at the facts in this case 1) he was charged with a crime- there must be some proof otherwise it would just be allegations2) Victim has visible injuries which were photographed by the police 3) an outside observer called 911 after hearing the victims screams4) he fled the scene 5) he eventually turned himself in after lawyering up with dirtbag, Mark Gregaros (scott peterson's attorney). Anyone, male or female, that raises a hand against another person is wrong. There is NO JUSTIFICATION for physical violence.

Domestic Violence is not okay and most women don't ask for it, but the truth is, SOME do. I've witnessed women provoking men, yelling, hitting, throwing. Men have the right to defend themselves against crazy women. A woman has a right to protect herself by not initiating a physical altercation. I am not condoning domestic violence, I am simply saying that some women are a mess and should not always be viewed as the "poor helpless victim."

I believe this is a private matter, the media, us, and everyone else should keep their big nose out of it and let them deal with it any way they want. I'm pretty convinced that CB did some horrible, horribl things to Rihanna that night, actions he should be fully punished for and with the evidence the DA apparently has I'm sure CB will be paying for his actions in a very real way for a very long time. BUT when convicted kiddie rapists, rapists, domestic abusers, drug addicts and people who have shot and/or killed other human beings are in continuous rotation on these same radio stations and tv shows that are now tossing up their arms in moral outrage at CB's appalling behavior and vilifying him when he's not been formally charged with anything, well, I find it a little disingenuous and hypocritical.
What about R Kelly? That disgusting pervert did not loose much airplay during his trial. If he allegedly urinated on under-aged celebrity teens, then maybe there would have been more outrage. If Chris Brown did this horrible thing, he should be dumped. Not because his victim is famous. Here's to greater accountability! I meet both Rhinna and Chris when they came to Adelaide, Australia, concert 2008. I took my 12 yo daughter and her friend. I was a Rhinna fan, however I was appalled by her behaviour, she was extremely rude and abrupt to her young fans. I did not expect her to stop and sign autographs, however she was abusive and rude to all her young fans. We spoke to another group of young girls, They went to greet her at the airport, she screamed abused at them and refused to take photos/sign autographs. Another group of young girls were invited to going bowling with Rhinna, Chris and the band by the local sponsor. After keeping everybody waiting for her, she refused to come when she saw the young girls, and called them a very-rude/derogative name. The young girls were shocked and left immediately. Throughout this Chris was extremly polite and posed for pictures and autographs with the young fans, though she hurled abuse at him. We all got the impression that he was very young & she totally dominated the relationship, and put him down in front of us. We where Rhinna fans, but after that experience…no more…Not sure of your sources Perez, but our experience of her was very unpleasant. Adelaide is a small town, she did not leave a positive impression.Chris was nice and approachable.That same weekend Snoop Doggy and IceT were also there, they were lovely and posed with all the young fans as well.

I live in Rapid City, SD and our local top 40 station has also pulled the plug on Chris Brown with the Program Director giving a great message out about domestic violence. One of our local dj's on that station (Hot 93.1) was a victim of domestic violence and luckily escaped after years of abuse. My town may be small but its sending out the right message. It doesn't matter if you are Rhianna or some girl from a small town, never tolerate violence. Get help if you are a victim. I encourage all radio stations everywhere to take Chris Brown off your format. In order to stop violence we need to show we will not tolerate it.

I think that is taking this situation to an extreme! I don't agree with what Chris Brown, if he even did anything. Personal I don't always truly believe the media. Although I absolutely love it! Besides the point, Chris Brown's songs should not be banned because of this bad choice. Yes, I do think it is terrible what he did but I don't know the whole true situation. If this incident was as horrible as it sounds and Chris Brown is to blame then he needs help. He also needs some punishment himself. Just because this incident happened doesn't mean Chris Brown isn't a great musician. Yes, Rihanna is still way better! We can't just boycott Chris Brown because he made one mistake. I will state what another user has stated They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party. While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments. Rihanna got a glimpse of the phone, saw the name and number and immediately recognized who it was. She went ballistic and began to “beat the sh*t” out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight. Rihanna’s rage stemmed from Chris’ questionable fidelity in the last few months. I usually like to know both stories before judging just one person Rihanna sounds like a person who takes over people and is said to follow him around a lot. I think that it's foolish to blame someone for something that you don't know about. =]
