After more than a week of silence, alleged girlfriend beater Chris Brown just issued a statement about the incident this past weekend!
He says:
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."

An admission of guilt! I am a huge fan of Rihanna and Chris Brown's music, but I "WILL NOT" defend his actions under any circumstances because I know from personal experience that his pretty boy looks and charm can be deceiving. When I was in college a very good friend of mine had a boyfriend who everyone believed to be the most sweetest and kindest person, however, we witnessed him almost beat her to death. Ladies, you never know who is capable of domestic abuse. I know some of you out there are defending Chris Brown because you do not want to believe that someone who you have supported throughout their career could be capable of such a horrific act, but domestic abuse is real. I'm not saying Rihanna is innocent, but I am saying that she did not deserve to be beaten and left on the side of the road. What this all boils down to is that they were too young for such an intense relationship. I'm feel sorry for both Rihanna and Chris Brown fans because just like you I was conflicted at first, but now I am taking a stand that most men and women are ashamed to take and it is against domestic abuse.

I totally do not accept what Chris did to Rihanna, everyone makes mistakes and finally he showed up his face, that shows a bit of humility at least. If he seeks for God than I think it's great, maybe that helps himself to heal emotionally, because he knows what he did was wrong and everything is public. Maybe his trying to get his fans back by saying this. Who knows? How would you recover from something like that? Rihanna should do the same, specially her, not only she was hurt physically, but emotionally. Give Brown a break too. He is human and he made a mistake. The judge will hear the details and pass down the appropriate punishment based on the facts and also based on Chris' character in general.

I think this is a sincere statement. I think that it is good that he waited to make a statement instead of just throwing something out there for the public. While we all are curious, I don't think public needed to be addressed first. I'm sure speaking with his family, friends, and maybe even Rihanna, or as well his legal team were his primary responsibility. Chris Brown seems like a good kid ( only 19), and I'm not sure he should be demonized because of this incident. From the comments of his family, friends, and the public, I feel as though this incident is extremely out of character for him…Is he a bad person, or a good person who made a terrible mistake.
