After more than a week of silence, alleged girlfriend beater Chris Brown just issued a statement about the incident this past weekend!
He says:
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."

Back to his statement. I think it's a very fair and acceptable statement given the fact that no one knows what really went on. He probably realizes instead of trying to get this crazy bitch out of his car while she was freaking out on him and starting the physical altercation he should have just got out of the car and jumped in the car that was following them and left the bitch there. Although she may have continued threatening him even when he got out of the car. We just don't know. Obviously he knows some will see him as the attacker just because he is the male and of course when you've got tainted press like Perez calling him a girlfriend beater and a slew of other things it's best to make sure at this point you agree and say the whole situation was wrong. Ask him privately if he feels bad for initially protecting himself if she was on top of him starting it and like any human he would say no. The bitch was going crazy. This isn't Ike and Tina. They aren't married. He doesn't control her career. If this was an abusive relationship she has always had the upper hand if she was the victim at any given moment. I'm telling you there is a lot more to this and it's going to include eye witness to her behavior as well and there is the key why she didn't want to report this situation.

This does not sound like chris brown speaking at all. I'm sure that it's his manager or agent helped him put together this statement. I don't know what to think of this situation at all.
Honestly, that was a decent statement under the circumstances. What he did was horrible- I love RiHanna. But he can't say anymore then that while the felony charges are pending. So cut him a little slack there. If he made an admission it would be used against him in court.
What can Chris say at this point, really, that would make a difference anyway? He apologized, and is seeking counseling. That is all he can really say.

It's telling he pulled the car over which tells me at least he was trying to make sure whatever was happening in that car could be controled. What if he honestly tried to get away from her when he stopped the car? What if he kept saying get off me bitch and get the fuck out of my car? What if he then got out to get in the car that was following them and she got right out and jumped him again screaming and yelling at him? We don't know this particular situation. Instead of just calling him an abuser and coupling him with true known abusers admit there are some huge holes in all of this. She didn't even want to press charges. Every male there willingly left her there. She didn't go pounding on some door begging for help. Where was her part in all of this? We don't know. you don't know that- you're not his conscience. sometimes embarrassing and awful things, or run ins with the law, force people to get help. of course people don't seek help if the status quo remains– but clearly this could be a wake up call for him, or at least we should hope so. it easy for you to say 'fuck this guy,' but unless you have been abused (as a man OR a woman) or have witnessed violence, you don't have the perspective or the place to be able to understand the cycle of violence and the mess people find themselves in.

my father beat my mother for ten years while my brothers and i watched. it was horrific and awful, but he turned his life around, got help (both of them did) and our family is still intact. i am 110% feminist and would never let a man touch me or even look at me the wrong way. however, if one of my brothers began suffering with PTSD, as I have, and lashed out in violence, I would hope and pray that he would get the help he needs, and that others would show even an ounce of compassion toward him.

Also, the screaming heard on the phone could be angry screaming. It didn't specify what kind of yelling it was. I know that when I get angry I often scream, not because I am in pain, but because I am pissed. And I would probably be pissed if someone left me somewhere. Also, I want to know why she hasn't shown her face. I really think that is damning on her part. If she is going to make a stand for abused women, and really make her case to the public, she should show what he allegedly did. I find it really odd that she has been in hiding. Chris Brown, Please get help with your anger issues asap! It will only get worse over time… I know this first hand. It seems like once you have crossed that *line* then the next times are not so bad (in the abusers mind) this is a major serious issue and you nrrd help now to prevent futher problems. I suffered fo years until after being nearly killed by being run over by my abuser and his cadillac I finally saw the light. The scars from that incident remind me daily that it is a life/death issue.
