After more than a week of silence, alleged girlfriend beater Chris Brown just issued a statement about the incident this past weekend!
He says:
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."

I want to hear her side of the story. I want to see her face and eyes as she tells her side of the story to quickly see if she's telling the complete truth. I want to watch her body language as she recounts what happened. I want to hear that 911 call where she's yelling in the background and exactly what she is saying and yelling about. I want to hear from those following them what they saw and how they tried to intervene to stop all of it. Why didn't this alleged abused victim want to press charges initially? They aren't married. He has no financial control over her. To get even for him cheating on her and for alleging beating the fuck out of her she could have ruined him long ago if all that has been going on. She is her own industry and there is nothing out there right now to show she has been anyone's bitch other than her own. Her version to the cops when they arrived and not at her request may not have exactly been the complete truth. She may have looked roughed up but who's to say she wasn't all over his shit while he tried to get her off of him? Remember the dead raper that burned down her fucking mansion to get even with her man? Don't assume women can't pull some crazy ass shit.

i'm not making any judgment calls– i'm merely responding to this post, and dozens of others, that say there was a domestic violence situation, and i'm weighing in as thoughtfully and as compassionately as i possibly can. i never claimed to have any evidence or proof. i don't have deeply flawed logic– if anything, i have a very well researched perspective and from my comments, i tend to be MORE compassionate toward abusive men than most women would rationally be. aren't all men and women capable of evil, and of violence? i would think yes. the more we see this in our own lives, the more capable we are of admitting that it is a seed in all of us that, unfortunately, grows for some, and not for others. i have no clue what CB's personal life is or what actually happened– my posts are aimed toward the general post-ers who are being ridiculously cruel and uncompassionate.

please use this energy to support a local violence shelter or domestic violence outreach group. we are all talking about this because it has reached celebrity status. but the TRUTH is that domestic violence occurs all over the world, and in all classes/races of people, and most men get away with several incidents before they are jailed. police officers tend to look the other way and sometimes don't even respond promptly to 911 calls. (i know this from personal family experience). it is sad and awful and there needs to be a supportive and active community out there, demanding safety and justice for women, and demanding stricter restraining orders and gun laws among perpetrators. you can even mail your congressional representatives to pass tougher laws regarding domestic violence. use your anger/energy to impact change!

LAisavapidwasteland I agree about the odd level of compassion being shown in all of this. Given that there is no one that can produce any solid evidence at this point to validate that Chris Brown is indeed a violent woman beating asshole.
People need to use common sense in what is happening here over all and at this point it's a pathetic press that is willing to jump to a conclusion prior to any true proof either way. Thank you Perez for speaking out against physical abuse. I do not know why more famous people have not–at a bare minimum–said that violence by anyone is simply unacceptable. That's not taking sides–that's taking a stand.
I wish that every man and woman out there would understand that you should never accept physical abuse. The first shake, the first push, the first angry slap–that is the most that anyone–man or woman–should experience. You can rationalize things–he/she didn't mean it, it will never happen again, you can handle her/him, he/she is so much littler than you, he/she still loves you, you caused him/her to snap, etc. But you shouldn't. There are some boundaries that shouldn't be crossed and I wish everyone would have the awareness (and means) to get out of that situation permanently.
This Rihanna & Chris Brown event is an opportunity for everyone to really think about whether hitting/biting/slapping/kicking is ever justified. Self defense does not mean responding in anger and hurting someone like they are hurting you–it means minimizing the harm that someone is doing to you. Doing enough to escape.
I hope more celebs are willing to tell people that they should not accept violence, encourage it, explain it away, minimize it.

It was just a bunch of "inside sources" saying what was on the police report and often contradicting themselves, or flat out making shit up (i.e. the assault with a deadly weapon charge). Perez, Chris wasn't blaming God. He said that with God's help he would emerge from this situation a better person. He didn't say it was God's plan for him to do it. He just said he's rely on God to get through it. I know some celebrities use God's name very loosely (Miley) but not every mention of his name is blame, Perez.
Also, we don't know what happened for sure. I'm not saying I don't think Chris hit Rihanna. I mean, I'm pretty sure he did. But I'm also pretty sure that Rihanna isn't blameless in the whole situation. I personally believe that Rihanna was hitting Chris too. I am in no way condoning violence against women, or saying that what he did was in any way right… but give this boy the benefit of the doubt. He's still a boy, and he is a human being - just like the rest of us - and we all make mistakes and do stupid things in our lives. He screwed up… ROYALLY… but he screwed up. Why are we condemning him? We don't know him or the situation. Leave the boy alone and let him deal. 1. She did not call the cops for help
2. Transportation was right in front of her she was not abandoned. She isn't reliant on needing someone to hold her adult hand to get in a car and start the engine or call for a taxi. She isn't retarded.
3. She did not go to the hospital she went home. The next day she went on her own and it was more then likely a forced situation to finish filing the report. You have no idea what that report says nor have you seen any photos.

I have never even bought a song of his and I also couldn't tell you what his current song on the radio is called. However, I do believe that people are making assumptions on less than facts. I have said from the beginning if he did actually beat the living shit out of her, then he should pay for it. BUT I have yet to see with my own two eyes any evidence that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he beat her within an inch of her life for no reason. I don't agree this isn't a matter for public discussion. This man is a violent person. Chances are in addition to his physical abuse, he also abuses drugs. In that, he is a danger to society. In addition, he has a history of violence according to several news outlets, besides Perez. That being said, I don't think he will bounce back from this. You don't beat up any woman, much less Rhianna and expect the public to not be outraged.
Perez, you are right on. First, Chris Brown is an ass for springing that doublemint song on us. He might be an okay dancer, but his music is not that great. We already have Ne-yo and as far as I know, he is not a scumbag to women. So, bye Chris. Second, if he were truly worry for this, he would have apologized quite some time ago. He didn't. He robbed us of a Rhianna performance not to mention his ill regard for the Grammy's by not keeping his commitment. And, Perez right on. I don't recall God coming out of his mouth that much when I was subjected to his awful music, his prior attacks on Rhianna's neck or his disregard for women and conversely his fans.
There is nothing he can say to justify what he did. Even though it's not what i hoped for, but I know thats the best he can do until her goes to court on MARCH 5TH. (he is still and effing douche bag, and i hope he falls on his face and breaks it, in half!) I just hope Rihanna can channel what happened to her into her music and help other people that are going through the dame thing.

Perez, i understand your comments but ur going a little overboard. The man apologized for his mistake. EVERYONE makes mistakes. Im not saying what he did was right, it was not AT ALL. But we ARE aware that he grew up in a violent home, so it is engrained in him. this does not make it acceptable, but its hard to completely get rid of something u grew up with ur whole life. Im sure he is always fighting the urge to bring out that violent side he grew up with and im sure its a struggle, and this one time he failed, he made a MISTAKE. OH MY GOD he is HUMAN.
