Madonna has decided to flex her acting chops yet again!
The Swept Away actress is intent on portraying Wallis Simpson, the twice-divorced American maneater who in 1936 lured King Edward VIII to leave the throne as the King of England to marry her.
Madge is smitten with the legend of Simpson and said to have plastered a wall in her London home with clippings of the harlot!
"Madonna sees Wallis Simpson as her next big film project. She is as passionate about it as she was about playing Eva Peron in Evita… she is fascinated with this American commoner who refused to conform or offer explanations for her tangeled love life," explain reports on the magnitude of her passion for the part.
Honestly, we don't know if we're ready for another movie starring Her Madgesty!!

She shouldn't even be considered an "actress" because she is the worst of the worst. Her "acting" consists of nervous blinking and her squeaky baby-doll voice. I'd rather watch a pile of shit being consumed by flies for two hours rather than wasting my time on a Madonna film.

You should read Tori Amos' opinion of Madonna; she hits the nail on the head about her and says what other artists really want to say. And as far as me not knowing anything about her. You and Hard Candy are just bandwagon fans. I was in junior high in 1983/4 when Madonna broke big. I bought her first album (on vinyl LP at that) when you could only find her records in the R&B sections of your local record store, long before everyone started liking her. I liked her when she was actually kind of edgy (which is BEFORE Like A Virgin) before she sold out.

I've read a lot about Wallis and Madonna would basically being playing herself. Wallis was a harlot or skank or whatever, at least by the standards of the time though I don't think she could compete with Madonna. Both women thought they were royal. Both liked fake accents (Wallis was a Katherine Hepburn fan and after she lost her fake British accent and her fake Southern accent she talked just like her you can see this on youtube), both were terrified of aging.
Wallis was not actually a Nazi at least according to most historians (you can't always believe wikipedia) but she certainly was a homewreaker. She met Edward when she made friends with his girlfriend Thelma. Then Thelma had to go out of town for a month and was worried Edward might cheat on her so she asked her "friend" Wallis to keep an eye on him. Wallis was married and not at all pretty so Thelma figured she could trust her. When Thelma got back Edward and Wallis were an item and she was kicked to the curb. And IIRC her second husband was married to someone else when Wallis got involved with him and his wife was actually in the hospital when Wallis got her claws into him. Of course we all know about how A-Rod had a wife when Madonna started with him and Guy Ritchie also had a girlfriend. Wallis was also known for being demanding and a total diva and extremely difficult to live with. I can definitely see why Madonna would want to play her.
