This is just incredibly shocking.
Owen Wilson's emergency hospitalization on Sunday was the result of a suicide attempt, The National Enquirer and Star magazine are exclusively reporting.
Sources tell the mags that Wilson sliced his left wrists and took an indeterminate amount of pills.
Wow. Wow. Wow.
Owen was discovered by a family member who summoned help.
Police and an ambulance responded to a 911 call from Wilson's house in Los Angeles around noon on Sunday.
Owen is said to be in stable condition at the moment.
This is hardcore.
Suicide is never a good option, kids.

"Owen Wilson has now been transferred from St. John's to another Los Angeles area hospital. His brothers Andrew and Luke are with him.
"Andrew found him after the suicide attempt and called an ambulance. Both of Owen's wrists were slashed superficially and Owen had taken an overdose of pills.
"Owen was found with a nearly empty bottle of pills next to him. He was at his house in Santa Monica."

He may not be addicted to drugs. He may be depressed with access to prescription drugs. Depression is crippling and can really kick in when bad things, like a breakup, happen. He's a very likeable and talented guy. I hope he'll recover soon and find peacefulness again.
NOooo!! I always thought he was a pretty laid back guy. I really hope he gets better. What were the pills for? My stepsister whom I'm best friends with was prescribed effexor by her doctor and it only made her worse and nearly cost her her life. It caused her such mood swings that one day she started cutting herself for no apparent reason and tried to overdose on the drug to make it all stop… Luckily, her neighbor called the police after they heard her screaming and they were able to resusitate her. It was really scary because she really has no idea why she broke down so hard, all of a sudden her emotions just went haywire. I really hope this isn't the case but sometimes the wrong drug can have serious side effects.. Owen just doesn't seem the suicidal type but then again I've never met him.. I PRAY FOR YOU OWEN!!!!!!!!!

This is my first time posting here and I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of negative comments, but I'm disgusted by the amount of people saying he deserved to die due to him being a wealthy movie star. I grew up in a higher income earning family with a public figure father (in the tech world) and that didn't stop me from becoming depressed. People who leave comments like that are the ones who need things like money to be happy. Take a minute and look at it from the other perspective, I would have very much enjoyed having a normal life with normal friends. Instead, the only option for "friends" were leeches so I kept my distance from them and spent most of my time alone while others thought I was living a great life. Hi Jell, to answer your question, it's not something that really goes away. For me, it's always been the loneliness and not having anyone I can trust around. Like owen, I've always been the popular comic around people, but like someone else pointed out here, the one who entertains others usually has no one to go to for help. I'm relatively young, 19, but I've had to grow up at a much quicker rate than the other people my age (around me). I can't speak for Owen, but I can say that the life that comes with having luxuries normally isn't a pleasant one unless you have good people around you. Perhaps he thinks he's never gonna find anyone he can be himself around and talk to. The majority of people facing this problem are the ones you'd least expect. Ask anyone about me and they'd say something that doesn't represent how I truely am. I wish Owen all the best and a speedy recovery.

As somebody else noted, Star and the Enquirer (which are owned by the same company) are in fact very good sources for this kind of thing, because they don't want to lose millions of dollars by printing allegations that can easily be proven false via actual hospital records. If he hasn't been taken in for an overdose and cuts to the wrist (or whatever they're reporting), his lawyers will fuck them. That won't happen, however, because their publisher is not retarded.
