Madea Goes to Jail Tops Weekend Box Office

There were no Academy Award-nominated films in the top three this weekend!
Oscar weekend's box office winner was the Tyler Perry flick, Madea Goes to Jail. It pulled in a very respectable $41.1 million!
According to reports, it was the largest opening weekend gross on the fewest amount of screens ever (2,032) - and the highest grossing weekend opening in Lionsgate history.
Liam Neeson's movie, Taken, is still performing well in the theaters! It came in at #2 with $11.4 million.
It is nearing the $100 million mark. Wow!
Rounding out the top three is Focus Features' Coraline. The Teri Hatcher-voiced flick brought home another $11 million. We're bummed that we didn't have time to see it in 3-D. We hear this past weekend was the last time you could see it in 3-D glory. Boo hoo.
Looks lame to me. But then again, all movies do.
Tyler Perry's new movie looks heart warming-too bad I'm gonna have to take a pass on this -Fucking- N*E*XT!

I love his movies, his movies are simple, with a positive message behind them. People who find his movies boring probably like most hollywood films f today that rely on sex, image and getting high profile acts to draw a crowd, its not about talent anymore people want to be shocked, people want to see immoral stuff.

if you guys actually WATCHED a tyler perry movie instead of running your mouths and talking shit, i would be more accepting of these opinions.
but most of you all know damn well you haven't seen a tyler perry movie; you're just making stupid comments. i've seen the movie, and madea actually going to jail is a very small part of the actual plot. it merely adds a bit of comedic elements to the storyline.
the main plot is about a lawyer that runs into an old friend from his childhood/college, until she dropped out and became a drug-addicted prostitute. he tries to change her life for the better, but his superficial "fiance/partner in the law firm" suspects that there is something more between her husband & the prostitute.
p.s. tyler perry makes more in a week than most of you do in a year, bitches.
