Slumdog Millionaire To Get the Musical Treatment

With 8 Oscars under its belt, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the producers Slumdog Millionaire plan to turn it into a musical!
However, producers say the profits earned by the musical won't go solely to fill their already full coffers. They'd like to use the musical proceeds to help the kids living in Mumbai's slums, like the ones portrayed in the movie.
That sounds like an excellent idea to us!
On a side note, Slumdog suits told the British media that professionally managed trusts are being established for two of the 'real life' slum kids who starred in the movie.
Kudos to that as well!

I totally agree with what someone said. Those kids were totally taken advantage of. They were only paid a measely 2000 dollars for a years work!!! And I dont even think it reached that ,was more like 1500. And why only trusts for two? There were 6 young actors in the movie! These British producers and directors should look into their hearts, and fat pockets and pony up some money for those kids. A day at Disneyland and a ´trust´for two of them isnt gonna cut it. Just sayin´…….
